      A lovely treat

      A Little Sachet Of Summer!
      --------------------------------

Lavera is a natural cosmetics and toiletries company based in Germany, and over the years I have purchased many of their products and found them to be really good. They are against animal testing and offer a comprehensive range of products for all the major bathroom needs. Many of their products are vegan and this makes them really popular with those following this way of living.

My latest purchase is a sachet of Body Spa Salts in the variant- Coconut Dream. I purchased this as I thought it would be relaxing to use on Christmas Day in the evening after all the celebrations were coming to a close.

The sachet is part of their Body Spa range and you can also choose to purchase these in other fragrances which include Rose Garden, Orange feeling, Lavender Secrets, Milk and Honey, and Vervain and Lime, and there is also a Christmas/gift collection which includes several of these in an attractive set which retails for £10. The individual sachets retail for £2.35 and are available from many health food stores, natural cosmetic websites and Amazon. It is also encouraging to see Holland and Barrett stocking the Lavera range now, and I purchased mine online from them as part of a larger order.

The composition of these bath salts is interesting as they are essentially made from sea salt- in fact rather enticing to me is the fact that they use Portuguese sea salt from The Algarve. The fragrances are added to enhance the enjoyment of what is actually a bath in pure sea salt. The coconut variant I purchased is actually also fragranced with vanilla, and when you open the sachet the scent is strong of vanilla more than of coconut in my opinion. I have the used sachet by my keyboard and the aroma is beautiful and is acting as a lovely scented air freshener in my office!

To use you simply add the contents to your bath water. They dissolve immediately leaving no trace at all in the water so there is no grainy sea salt residue, and the bathroom is scented with a pleasant vanilla and coconut aroma. It is a very tropical scent- sort of reminds me of a vanilla scented Bounty Bar! As the salts also contain Shea Butter they are not drying in any way, and I found them to leave my skin moisturised and very soft. The salts also contain jojoba and sunflower seed oils which also contribute to the moisturising properties.

I spent a relaxing half an hour soaking in these salts and I felt refreshed afterwards and ready for sleep. I found them to be very calming and relaxing and reminded me of summer days, and I would certainly repurchase in the future for an occasional treat. They had a beneficial affect on my muscles which were feeling very stiff at the end of the day. I think the cost is slightly prohibitive to use daily as you really need to use the entire sachet for the best results. I also have the shower gel and deodorant from the same range and these complement each other so well when used together.

I purchased a sachet for my daughter as stocking filler and she was delighted with hers and said she would certainly re-purchase.

      Final Thoughts
      ----------------

I think that the negative aspects are the cost per bath and the slight dominance of the vanilla over the coconut fragrance. I would say that the way the product felt on my skin both during and after use was excellent, and I had no need to apply additional moisturiser. In conclusion I would say that this is a lovely treat to purchase occasionally, and it certainly left my muscles feeling less stiff and I felt relaxed and ready for bed. A good stocking filler and occasional indulgence! It also reminds me of summer which I love and am missing rather a lot!
