Advantages: Natural and organic, handy flip-top lid
Disadvantages: Not effective enough, bad smell, too runny
I haven't had an exfoliating body product in a while now. I've only been using shower mittens or puffs to scrub the dead cells off my skin. But that takes a bit more effort than to just use a scrubbing product, so I decided to get one. I ordered it from feelunique.com for £5.80.
This body scrub from Lavera claims to be gentle, yet effective scrub that leaves skin velvety soft, supple and fresh-smelling. Orange is supposed to extract tone and brighten, and sea buckthorn should leave skin glowing. Coconut and sugar-based cleansers are there to provide mild cleansing, and silicic mineral beads and polished olive stones are the ones doing the actual exfoliation. It comes in a 150ml tube of white and orange, and it has a flip-top lid. Being a Lavera product, it's all natural and organic, which is pretty much the only thing that's good in this product...
It just doesn't exfoliate well enough for my taste. It seems that there aren't enough beads to do the scrubbing. The consistency is also quite runny - not what I expect from an exfoliating product. The combination of it being so runny and having too few beads makes it feel really ineffective. I also have to use a lot of it, at least five big squeezes, to cover my whole body (and I'm not even that big). Therefore, I don't think this tube will last a long time. In this case, that doesn't really bother me, though, since this is not a product I would like to keep using. Oh, and the smell is quite gross to my nose. I didn't find it fresh at all. It was more like gone off oranges and milk..
After using this product my skin feels a liiittle softer in some parts, I suppose. But not smooth enough. Especially my legs seemed as dry as they were before, even though I followed the scrub with a good hydrating moisturizer. I like my body scrubs to be thick and have loads of grains in it to make my skin really smooth, like Papaya scrub by Body Shop. This runny product from Lavera didn't reach my standards.
Summary: Too gentle body scrub from Lavera.
