      Very helpful

I'll be stocking up on this.

One of my aims this year is to only be using and owning paraben-free cosmetics and skincare products. I'm also trying to eliminate palm oil. As I've found over the past few months, finding products which don't contain these things or derivatives of these things is incredibly difficult, as I'd normally go for Lush but there are barely any products there I can buy - it's really not as natural or as good for you as it likes to imply.

I came across a review on DooYoo which mentioned a Love The Planet product, so I decided to ask for some things from there for Valentine's Day from my boyfriend. This Mandarin body wash was one of the things I selected.

This product is available online at www.lovetheplanet.co.uk, and can also be bought from Amazon with your DooYoo miles. Love The Planet guarantees that their products are free from parabens, mineral oils, artificial colours and fragrances, animal testing, animal products, and sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate (which is derived from palm oil and makes Lush appear very hypocritical). This product is suitable for both vegetarians and vegans, and costs £3.50 for 200ml.

I ordered online and I expected the 200ml bottle to be tiny, but it was actually a bit bigger than I expected. The body wash came in a small plastic bottle with a simple label and one of those lids where you push one end down to open it, and then squeeze out. It's much brighter orange than the picture on the website, and looks really fresh. Smelling it, I thought it smelled nice and citrusy and would wake me up a bit in the mornings.

Using it was easy - it was a lot gloopier than I expected so it was ever so slightly jelly-like, but it rubbed into my skin well and created a decent lather. The best thing about this product is the smell when you're actually using it - it smells incredibly natural and fresh. I'm normally terrible at describing smells of skin products, but this smells exactly like when you peel a tangerine on Christmas Day - it's absolutely lovely - very fresh, and reasonably strong. The smell lingered softly after my shower, but not too much, which is how I like it to be.

I only had to use a small amount because it lathered up well, so I think this shower gel will last a fairly long time. It's more expensive than a lot of people would like, but this the way I see it: I'm helping the environment, animals, my own skin and health, the promotion of 'green' products and a small company, so it's all worth it to me. The only disadvantage is that it's not available in larger sizes to reduce packaging, although I will probably use some of the bottles after for travel shampoo and shower gel. It also has the advantage of being easy to take on holiday with you.

Overall, this is a great product worth buying for the smell alone.
