Lush 13 Rabbits Shower Gel
Advantages: Amazing scent, good for skin
Disadvantages: Scent doesn't last, not widely available
If you read my reviews regularly you'll know that I am a bit obsessed with the store Lush. For a while I've been after the 13 Rabbits Shower Gel, but it is only available from the Lush USA website, and unfortunately they don't ship to the UK. Luckily for me, however, I managed to track one down on eBay.
The unusual name of the product comes from its inspiration: "the mystical signature of an ancient Mayan prince", according to Lush. It is described as a Chocolate Spice shower gel, containing a range of oils - avocado and peach kernel, jojoba and pumpkin seed, ginger root and clove leaf - to make it smell spicy and delicious.
The shower gel is dark brown in colour and is fairly runny - just like liquid chocolate in fact. It smells divine - just like chocolate ginger, very rich and fairly sweet. I spent ages sniffing it before I actually used it! Some of the product had separated into layers (a bit like The Olive Branch does) so I shook it up before use.
I always use a shower puff to wash with in the shower, but this shower gel isn't the best latherer ever. I do need a bit more product than usual to provide an effective lather. Having said that, it smells absolutely amazing and the smell wafts round the bathroom. The rich spicy chocolatey scent is something I've never experienced in the bathroom before and it's amazingly luxurious.
After use, the smell doesn't linger overmuch on the skin which is a bit of a shame. However, the product doesn't dry out my skin and I don't need to use much moisturiser.
Overall this is a lovely, luxurious, deliciously scented shower gel. The addition of a spicy ginger aspect to the chocolatey scent helps to prevent it from being too sickly. The only negatives are the fact that the scent doesn't really last on the skin, and I need a bit more product to get a good lather (although still less than most non-Lush shower gels). 4 stars for 13 rabbits!
