Advantages: Smells lovely, moisturising, refreshing and reviving

Disadvantages: None

In York recently, I saw that the Lush store had a special offer on their bath ballistics - buy three and get another free. After choosing the three new ballistics to try (I had already tried the fourth new ballistic, Mrs Whippy, on a previous occasion), I needed to choose another. Liking the sound of Avobath, I popped it into my basket.

The name 'Avobath' seems to be a play on the phrase 'have a bath'! This ballistic is designed to be refreshing and fruity. As the name suggests, it contains fresh avocados to rehydrate and moisturise dry skin. It also contains lemongrass oil to refresh and stimulate your mind, as well as bergamot oil and rosewood oil. Also included in the ballistic is extra virgin olive oil (organic of course) which adds to the moisturising experience!

I got the impression that this ballistic was designed for use in the daytime, so I decided to try it out one Saturday afternoon when I'd been tidying my room all morning and was supposed to be going out in the evening. When I went to take it out of the yellow bag, I noticed that it had broken in half, and as it is one of the larger ballistics, I did contemplate only using half, but decided to chuck the whole lot in!

The ballistic is pale green in colour and smells just like the Stepping Stone foot scrub - very refreshing and citrusy. When I dropped it into the water it fizzed loudly and turned the water a lovely green colour, releasing the refreshing scent into the air at the same time. I had a really refreshing bath - the smell was lovely and the water felt silky soft.

I was really impressed with how the ballistic refreshed me and how soft my skin felt after the bath. I also noticed that there was a little shimmery glitter on me! This was very subtle, it wasn't at Glitterbug or Twilight levels by any means - in fact I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been epilating my legs and therefore looking at them closely! I did notice after the bath water had drained away that there was a layer of shimmer at the bottom of the bath, but this rinsed away easily when I turned on the tap.

I was really impressed with this ballistic. It isn't gimmicky or all-singing, all-dancing but it works really well and all for £2.90 which isn't too bad for a ballistic. You could probably get away with using half, too, as it's one of the larger ballistics. It would be great to use before a night out as it's really refreshing and has a hint of glitter. Apparently the ballistic smells the same as the You've Been Mangoed bath melt, so I'd also like to try a cocktail made up of half ballistic and half bath melt.

As you've probably gathered I highly recommend this ballistic!

Summary: A great reviving bath ballistic!
