Lovely shower gel but a bit expensive for everyday!

I'm gradually working my way through all Lush's products, and have been sampling several items from the Retro range recently. The B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful shower gel was originally a product from Lush's sister cosmetics store of the same name, but this closed down over a year ago. This product was so popular, however, that Lush brought it back.

Recently, Lush had a massive cull of Retro products and left only the 21 most popular products in the permanent Retro range. Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful was one of these, which shows that people are continuing to buy it and therefore - hopefully - that it is a good product.

This shower gel is described as a decadent, luxurious, honey shower gel, "Sweetly scented, superbly softening and splendidly soothing". It contains clover honey, orange blossom honey and manuka honey to create a soothing and gentle wash. The product is obviously not suitable for vegans because of the honey, but like all Lush products it is suitable for vegetarians. The product also contains red clove flower infusion, eucalyptus oil, sandalwood and fennel oils, and jasmine and rose absolutes to add to the layered and decadent scent.

It should also be noted that this shower gel contains sodium lauryl sulfate. This is a foaming agent and is included in the majority of shampoos and shower gels available, but it has been known to cause skin problems in some people so it's best to be aware of this if you have sensitive or problem skin.

The shower gel has a rich honey colour and a luxurious honey scent with a floral edge. I can be quite fussy when it comes to honey scents, but this one is lovely. The floral aspect stops it from being cloying and it is a pleasant summer scent which is quite sophisticated - this is a shower gel for adults.

In the shower, I squeeze a small amount of shower gel onto my body puff and lather it up. Quite a lot of lather is produced from such a small amount - a little really does go a long way. The scent wafts around the shower and is really calming and comforting. It's a gentle and caring scent that makes me feel a little better when getting up for work! I feel very clean using this shower gel. Unfortunately the scent of it doesn't really last on my skin, which is a bit of a shame, however my skin always feels very soft after use. The shower gel doesn't irritate my skin at all and I've noticed that I don't need to use as much moisturiser as usual.

Unfortunately the shower gel is really expensive - £6.50 for a 100g bottle and a whopping £22 for the largest 500g size. In fairness only a tiny amount is needed at once, so it lasts a lot longer than normal shower gels, and the ingredients are expensive, particularly the different kinds of honey and the jasmine and rose absolutes. Still, this is a very high price and I have to deduct a star for this.

Overall, despite the high price, I have to recommend this shower gel. It uses high quality ingredients and provides a very luxurious shower experience. It is also good for my skin. I would buy it again, but probably only for a special occasion, and use it sparingly!
