Advantages: Gorgeous fragrance, lots of bubbles.

Disadvantages: Is not exactly cheap.

I recently had a gift card to spend so decided to treat myself to some bath products at LUSH. I enjoy shopping at the Lush store because I am at ease knowing they do not test on animals. I also enjoy the unique handmade products they create. In store at any Lush is also a fun experience as you can test products before you buy them and the staff in store are usually very chatty, friendly and helpful.

Lush sell a range of interesting products including soap, bath bombs, shampoo, moisturisers and massage bars. At holdiay periods they tend to bring out special items and the Candy Mountain Bubble Bar is part of their festive 2012 range. Having been on sale in previous years this product has had a slight makeover for 2012. It is now coloured luminous yellow or green and pink rather than white and pink.

This is a Bubble Bar (like bubble bath in solid form) is shaped in a mini mountain. As each product is handmade they can vary in exact shape and size but each one is about the size of a snowball and then shaped with a peak. They are coloured pink with a yellow stripe going down the mountain like a helter skelter slide. They look very curious and when I saw them in the shop I think the shape and colour of the product appealled to me even more than it's fragrance and other qualities.

To use this product you basically add it to hot or warm running water. The size and texture of the Candy Mountain means that I didn't have to use it all in one go. This product has a texture of dense dry sand and so it can be easy crumbled into smaller pieces. You can add these one at a time until you are happy with the level of fragrance and bubbles created.

The product semi dissolves although pieces of it float around on the bath surface. The rest vanishes and creates a cloudiness to the water (it does not change the colour of the water -just makes it misty) whilst also forming a thick layer of bubbles. These bubbles are large, soft, fluffy and slightly oily so they feel very slippery and moisturising. They feel lovely as you smother your skin with them.

The fragrance of the Candy Mountain is strong and wonderful. It smells like bubblegum, sweetshops, vanilla essence, strawberry jelly, shortbread and candyfloss. The product actually contains vanilla absolute to create this ultra sweet scent. It's definitely made for the ladies, this one.

It's very pleasing to have a bath with the Candy Mountain as the foamy bubbles are quite abundant and more than you'd expect to achieve from even just small pieces of the mountain. The fragrance also has the ability to make me feel giddy and relaxed. It simply makes me feel relaxed and happy to use this so it's good to use at any time of the day.

I would buy the Candy Mountain again although there are a few other products in store that have similar qualities. They are £2.45 per mountain and I can get about three baths from one mountain so I do wish they were slightly cheaper. As far as Lush products are concerned, however, they are an average price. They are a nice addition to the Lush store for Christmas and I would love to get one (or two!) as a gift from a loved one.

Summary: A nice treat.
