Lush Cinders Bath Ballistic
Advantages: Gorgeous fragrance
Disadvantages: Don't like the colour of the water
This evening I was told by my other half to have a few hours to myself, I had already done dinner so he was going to make sure our two year old was fed, watered and put to bed so I could pamper myself and have a bit of a break. Needless to say I didn't need to be told twice and I lept at the chance and the first thing I did was run a nice hot bath especially on such a cold day it would be nice to thaw out.
My Lush stash is of course the first port of call when I can spend more than a few minutes soaking but the question is what would I choose?! I have a variety of bath products to use but the one I chose was the Cinders Bath Ballistic which I had received as part of a set. Lush is of course that company which produces a wide range of weird and wonderful products which have become a global favourite and I am just one of many fans!

What Lush say:-
"Are your ugly sisters and evil stepmother annoying you?
Well, escape to the bath for an hour with Cinders"
Cinders Bath Ballistc came out last year and has stayed a permanent fixture on Lush's wooden shelves. Cinders has been designed a winter time ballistic which is meant to help warm you up from within. Its fragrance is meant to be of a "warm punch" whilst wanting you to imagine "sitting by a crackling open fire". This was the main reason I used Cinders tonight as I wanted something warming with quite a festive fragrance.
Cinders is a ballistic which is the type of product which requires dropping into the bath and you can watch it fizz away until it completely disappears. The ballistic itself ranges in colour range the peach tones to the more orange and pinks, it all simply depends on which batch you buy from. Regardless of colour they all feature a sprinkling of pink popping candy which crackles in the water.
The smell of the ballistic before putting it into the water has a very distinctive cinnamon aroma which of course is incredibly festive with lovely hues of citrus. Lush have in fact used cinnamon leaf oil together with orange oil which of course give this ballistic two very noticeable aromas which work wonderfully together. It really is like the smell of Christmas has been bottled and put straight into this ballistic!
== In Use ==
To use a ballistic you simply need to pop it in the bath under the running water and watch it fizz away. As soon as Cinders meets the water you can instantly see it fizz and you can hear the popping candy crackle too. The colour it releases is a burnt orange colour which at first looks absolutely amazing but as soon as the water becomes deeper this gorgeous colour soon dilutes and becomes a slightly muddy brown colour which isn't so nice.
The festive fragrance does remain however which does manage to fill the bathroom which is of course wonderful. The ballistic doesn't provide any bubbles or lather which in this case is a real shame as when I went to get into the bath I wasn't exactly looking forward to sitting in a bath full of muddy looking water but I did so not to completely waste the ballistic!
The water did feel incredibly soft around my skin which of course was incredibly nice and the gorgeous aroma really did warm me up as well as relax me but I couldn't get away from the colour of water and found it actually quite off putting. Instead of wanting to stay in the bath for as long as possible in order to fully rest and warm up I found myself wanting to get out as quickly as possible which was a real shame.
My skin after the bath felt smooth but wasn't moisturised in any way although there was a subtle spicy scent from the cinnamon which was quite nice but this didn't last for very long which wasn't surprising. However, on a plus note I did find that it was quite warming and I found that I got out the bath although quite quickly that I did feel warmed up and quite relaxed but for me the water ruined it for me and I wouldn't buy it again.
== Overall ==
A ballistic which has a wonderful festive fragrance which will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit but the colour of the water is a real put off. If only the water stayed clear or even a very pale yellow would have been fine but a pale muddy water colour was not one I liked and therefore I didn't find it as relaxing as probably I should have done. For me due to the water issue I can only award it 2 stars. If Lush could re-create the fragrance into something else then I'd happily buy it but I won't be buying Cinders again.
