Advantages: Pretty, softens skin and gives a relaxing bath

Disadvantages: the smell is cinnamon, my least favorite.

The cinders was one of my lucky picks at the Lush store in Meadowhall. I didn't look to see what I was getting so I just looked the other way and picked at random, I hadn't used any that side so I knew I would buy any that I picked up, I finally got around to using this the other day. This is just £2.25 for 100g. So it was either going to be bad (learnt from experiences, some of the cheaper ones aren't so good) or it was just on offer for Christmas time. This is still available in stores and online at www.lush.co.uk However when buying online the postage costs £3.95 so because this is so cheap it's bets to buy in bulk or go in store.

This looks pretty interesting colour wise, I just picked this up and had no idea what scent or wonders it would bring me once I put it in my bath, but I read that it it supposed to have snap and crackling noises as it fizzes and it supposed to smell of spiced punch fruits. The ballistic is a mustard yellow colour with bits of red and orange dotted all over the place, presumably this is the popping parts of the ballistic. This is a fairly attractive bath ballistic and if I had been looking while choosing I probably would of picked this up anyway not only because it's bright and attractive but because of the name "cinders" This to me says two things, either cinders of a fire or cinders as in cinder toffee. Since it looks more like sweets then fire I had to agree with the cinder toffee.

Without going into too much detail the bath ballistics are to be used alone in the bath, using multiple bath products with these can change the water colour, the luxury feeling to it and take away any bubbles it may produce, so for me I use the bath ballistics at night when I want to relax and not cleanse myself otherwise I feel like I'm missing out and not getting the worth of the ballistic, I use these to help me sleep at night because I have trouble and they seem to be doing the job pretty well so far.

Once I was ready to take a cinders bath I dropped it into the water and unlike most of the others I have used this dropped straight to the bottom of the bath and started rolling around dementedly as it fizzed, usually they fizz around the top of the bath as the dissolve this this one decided to dissolve at the bottom of the water, It didn't take it's time either, in less than two minutes this has pretty much disappeared which is fine by me, the quicker the better because I want to hurry up and get in it, as for the popping and cracking, I didn't hear none of this but that is possibly because it was on the bottom of the bath and I just couldn't hear it.

The water was an odd colour, parts were yellow, then darker yellow and then slightly brown. This is probably because of all the different red and oranges in the ballistic too but it didn't look as attractive as the tropical waters or the pinks and purples, if anything this colour was quite dull in comparison but I got in all the same of course, the next thing I noticed was the smell, one I'm not fond of or the flavor and that is cinnamon. Whether this was really strong or I just noticed it more because I don't like it but this was really over powering. After five minutes or so I began to sort of just ignore the scent but it's one I didn't want lingering on my skin.

Once I got out and had dried off I was pleased to find no trace of the scent on my skin (not that I could tell) My skin felt nice like it always does after using a lush ballistic what with all their natural ingredients. This ballistic was really cheap but one I won't purchase again mainly due to the smell, a fault of my own for picking at random. This is supposed to smell like fruits and contains a lot of citric acid however it just smells of cinnamon.

Summary: a bath bomb I won't use again due to the scent.
