I purchased this bath bomb as I wanted to get into the christmas spirit and it definitely worked for me.
The little face of father Christmas is enough to put a smile on your face and to help anyone to relax.
When I first popped his little santa in the bath it fizzed into a whirl wind of pink, fizzing all around my bath tub,But then I noticed that it started changing colour to an emerald green, the colour almost reminded me halloween not christmas. Which was ok with me as I love halloween as much as christmas.
The smell was nice and sweet and was similar to the snow fairy shower gel.
I didn't think the scent of the bath bomb lasted as much as it should have done but I still enjoyed watching it disolve into a lovely green colour.
It is a lovely bath bomb and I would purchase this item again and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to get in to the christmas spirit.
I'm thoroughly enjoying being able to sample all of Lush's limited edition Christmas products. I like to use them in the run up to the festive season to help me get into the spirit of things. One of the products I have tried is the Father Christmas Bath Bomb.
This product is a ballistic, meaning that it doesn't create bubbles but dissolves in the water, releasing colour, scent and essential oils. This particular one contains mandarin and bergamot oils as well as orange flower absolute, which combine to make a lovely refreshing citrus fragrance. It is the same scent that used to be in the Satsumo Santa ballistic. The product contains sodium bicarbonate to help it fizz, and also unfortunately has sodium laureth sulfate inside: this can cause skin irritation in some people so it's best to be cautious if you have sensitive skin. However, it is a common ingredient in most shower gels and hair products and most people are fine with it. The ballistic is suitable for vegans and costs £3.25, which is about average for such products at Lush.
Father Christmas is large and round with a jolly face. He is orange with a white beard and moustache and is generally cheering to look at. Lush state that he is a "bit of a secret Santa who modestly hides his hidden talents". This is evident when you drop him in the bath and he begins to dissolve - on the inside he is bright green, and once he is fully dissolved you get a dark green bath with pretty red glitter inside. Very festive!
I really enjoyed my bath with this product. There were no bubbles, but the green water and glitter made up for this. The scent lasted too, and was pleasant and refreshing. The ballistic didn't actively moisturise, but neither did it dry out, my skin.
I've had a few problems with Lush ballistics staining the bath, so I was slightly concerned about the bright green nature of this product. However, after my bath there was no staining at all, just a rim of glitter around the edge of the bath. I was able to rinse this off easily with no scrubbing required.
I could detect a faint scent on my skin after using this, which was really nice. I think children would love this one, with the happy Santa face and bright colour. It is great for adults too, however!
