Advantages: smells nice, makes skin feel soft and polished

Disadvantages: none

I was given a sample of this figs and leaves soap as I told the sales lady at Lush that I wanted to try a soap that was moisturising as some of the other ones I'd tried were a bit too drying for my dry/sensitive skin. I just don't like the feeling of coming out of the shower with my skin feeling uncomfortably tight so she suggested this soap. She cut me a generous sample so I couldn't wait to try it out.

It smells very natural and a little sweet too, I definitely won't mind using this all over as I don't think it will clash with any other products I might use after. Some soaps tend to smell too overpowering and therefore make any other products smell a bit odd to me but I didn't think this would cause that problem and to date it still hasn't.

I didn't bother cutting this soap up (though I do with some of my other soaps as I don't like to waste too much of it and sometimes I buy really large pieces that do need cutting anyway). It lathered quite nicely and felt creamy on my skin. I noticed after rubbing it in a few times, I could feel some tiny seed bits scratching on my skin, not in an unpleasant way. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could also use this soap to exfoliate my skin in a gentler way than with buffy or any other of the exfoliating bars from Lush.

I felt that the soap cleaned me well and my skin was left feeling soft and smooth. I didn't really feel that my skin required extra moisturiser afterwards as I didn't have that horrible tight feeling that some soaps have given my skin in the past.

You can find the following ingredients in this soap according to the Lush website: Fig Decoction (Ficus carica), Water (Aqua), Rapeseed oil; Sunflower oil; Coconut oil (Brassica napus; Helianthus annuus; Cocos nucifera), Glycerine, Organic Aloe Vera Extract (Aloe barbadensis), Sodium Hydroxide, Perfume, Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata), Orange Blossom Absolute (Citrus Aurantium dulcis), Organic Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe barbadensis), Titanium Dioxide, Sodium chloride, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Linalool
* Occurs naturally in Essential Oils

I will definitely buy a full size of this soap and highly recommend you try this if you're looking for a moisturising and gently exfoliating hand and body soap.

Summary: lovely creamy and exfoliating soap
