Advantages: Smells lovely, turns the water a pretty colour, fun to use
Disadvantages: None
I bought the Fizzbanger ballistic on a recent trip to York, as the Lush store there had a special offer on - buy three ballistics and get a fourth free. Fizzbanger is one of the newest ballistics, and promises to re-revolutionise the bathing 'experience'. It was inspired by the Roald Dahl book The BFG, and contains popping candy to make bathtime more exciting.
The ballistic apparently contains the 'Love' fragrance, a perfume which was part of the 'B Never Too Busy to be Beautiful' range before it went. The scent consists of cinnamon, apples and toffee. The ballistic contains cinnamon leaf oil, a spicy scent that apparently fights fatigue and feelings of depression, and petitgrain oil, a rich refreshing oil from the bitter orange tree. It also contains ylang ylang oil, and is suitable for vegans. The ballistic is massive and is yellow in colour.
To be honest, when I first heard about this ballistic I thought it sounded a bit similar to Cinders, a Christmas ballistic that was out last year and also contained popping candy. I wasn't too keen on that one but I always like to try Lush products, so of course I wanted to give this a go!
I decided to use the ballistic one afternoon while the parents were out. I ran the bath first, got in and only then threw the ballistic in. It started fizzing and dissolving slowly - the process took around 15 minutes in total. The bath water started to turn slightly yellow and then the popping candy started popping - this wasn't fireworks, more like a bowl of Coco Pops, but it was still fun! The next thing was that a hole developed in the ballistic and light blue started coming out - the blue and the yellow looked really pretty together! Eventually as the ballistic dissolved, the water turned a lovely blue-green colour - so nothing like Cinders, which made the bath water look rather like wee!
Throughout all of this there was a lovely apple-cinnamon smell in the bath - it was really strong, as if the dissolving ballistic was 'releasing' the scent! The smell was really refreshing and sweet without being overpowering.
Right at the end, once the ballistic had dissolved completely, I found a little piece of paper that had come out of the middle of the ballistic - with the word 'BANG' printed on it! This really made me laugh!
When I got out of the bath I felt really refreshed and I could smell the lovely smell on my skin. My skin felt really soft and I only had to use moisturiser on my legs.
I really loved this ballistic and would definitely buy it again, although at £2.95 it would have to be a special treat. Unlike Twilight and Dragon's Egg it doesn't have any glitter in, but right now that's a bonus for me, as I don't think my parents would be too keen if I covered the bath with glitter! I really recommend the ballistic, in fact I recommend ALL of Lush's new ballistics - they're so much fun!
Summary: Another great bath ballistic from Lush!
