The best present I have ever recieved, without a doubt!

I had never used Lush products before, I had never even been into a Lush shop and then in Christmas 2010 when I had just moved into my new flat, one of my friends at work bought me this for Christmas. I could smell something lovely everytime I went near my Christmas tree but thought nothing of it. When I eventually unwrapped it and put it in my bathroom, the whole room was filled with it's divine scent! When I used it for the first time in my bath, I was delighted by the bright pink and glitter bath water and I just could not get over the scent. Everybody who went in my bathroom loved the smell and commented on it. I was very very disppointed when I went into Lush and could not find it. When I emailed them, they told me it had been discontinued and was a limited edition. I was very dissapointed. I would love them to bring this back as i'd keep them in business with buying it. Try it after a hard day and the scent will relax you.

A gorgous pampering treat for girlie girls.

I love reading the Lush reviews here on Dooyoo, but it isn't very often that I get to shop there, as my nearest store is in Birmingham. Fortunately, as the kids are off school this week, I used the opportunity to head to Brum, and spend big bucks in the Lush store!

It is easy to feel overwhelmed when you enter the store, as there are so many gorgeous products on the shelves. Now I have read lots of reviews on Dooyoo, and I am getting more familiar with the store, I find the whole experience less intimidating and I have some idea of what I want to buy before I go in. Me and the kids are huge fans of the bubble bars, as they usually look good enough to eat, smell divine, turn the bathwater a funky colour and produce masses of lovely bubbles!

I let each child choose a bar. My oldest son chose the gingerbread house, the little one had Pop in the bath, and my daughter went straight for this lovely pink glitter bar, called Flosty Gritter (I actually thought this was a typo, but it really is the right spelling!). Out of the three bars, I thought that this one smelled the nicest, as it was scented with lavender and vanilla, which wafted out of my bag every time I opened it!

The first time we used a bubble bar, I just popped it into the bath, thinking it would be similar to a bath bomb. The actual instructions are to crumble the bar under running water. I knew I would be able to get more than one bath out of this bar, which cost £3.30, so I carefully cut the bar in half with a knife and saved half by wrapping it in the bag that it came in.

Rather than crumble the bar in the bath, my daughter likes to squish it in her hands and "paint" herself all over with the thick pink liquid from the bar as it dissolves. She was soon completely pink, before dunking herself in the bath and turning the water a gorgeous deep pink shade. The tiny flecks of glitter shimmered in the water, making it look really magical. This is probably the nicest shade I have seen, and very girlie! The scents were still present, but not so strong when diluted in the bath water, although they still delicately fragranced the bathroom.

Even though I had only used half a bar, the bath soon filled up with copious amounts of bubbles, and I probably could have got away with using a third of the bar rather than half!

My daughter loved her flosty gritter bath, and I liked the fact that it had no additional messy bits, like flowers or rose petals to contend with when the water drained away! The bath left her skin soft and smooth and smelling lovely, and I feel that the bar did have moisturising qualities that would benefit most types of skin. My daughter can have sensitive skin, but didn't react to this, and neither did I, when I put my hands in the water. Although the bar is glittery, there were no bits of glitter on her skin when she came out of the bath.

The Lush website states that the product is suitable for Vegans, and contains clary sage oil, which is a warming and relaxing herb, as well as Benzoin, which is a vanilla scented essence that leaves a lasting scent on the skin, as well as lavender and vanilla essence. Lovely stuff! The product is not tested on animals. This is probably my favourite Lush product so far, but of course, there are so many more for me to try out...

I would use this again I think

Since reading so many reviews on Lush products on here I have become a bit of a Lush convert I think. When I visit somewhere with a Lush store I have to pop in and pick up a few bath ballistics or bubble bars! On my last trip to Lush one of the products I picked up was the Flosty Gritter bubble bar.

The flosty gritter bubble bar grabbed my attention because it was a lovely bright pink colour which was completely covered in glitter! It seems to be one of the smaller bubble bars and cost £3.30 for 100g so it isn't very cheap but I managed to get two baths out of this product making it slightly more economical.

The bubble bar is described as being a "party bath" but I just used it on a normal night as I don't ever get to go out and party being a single mum! I crumbled half of the bubble bar under the running water and then just gave the water a quick swirl with my hand and immediately the water began to turn a gorgeous pink colour and masses of bubbles began to rise. The bath really looked lovely before I got in it and the sweet smell filled the room.

The bubble bar contains lavender and vanilla scent but I have to say I noticed the vanilla scent much more than the lavender. It was a really pleasant smell and I have to say that when I was in the bath my skin felt really lovely and silky too.

I was really pleased with the amount of bubbles that formed with this bubble bar. They really did fill the bath and I love a good old fashioned bubble bath with LOADS of bubbles so this really did suit me very well!

When I got out of the bath and dried myself off I can't say I noticed any glittery particles on my skin but I wasn't really bothered about that anyway. I did like the fact that my skin still felt soft though and had a lovely vanilla aroma to it. I did not have to use any moisturiser after my bath as my skin felt lovely already so that saved me a job too as I can't see moisturising is my favourite thing to do!

I think I would definitely purchase this bubble bar again simply for the lovely scent and the masses of bubbles it creates!

          4/5 stars from me

I'm a bit fan of Lush products, and especially love their bubble bars. Flosty Gritter is a bubble which I've tried most recently. The spelling confused me a little at first, but it is a deliberate mistake! The bubble bar is pink, glittery and circular. It costs £3.30 for one 100g bar, which is a roughly average price for this type of product in Lush - although it may seem slightly expensive at first.

To use a bubble bar you simply crumble it under running water. It acts exactly the same as a liquid bubble bar and as soon as it hit's the water it creates a mound of bubbles. I find that one bubble bar can be used in more than one bath. Many people spread them over 3 or 4 baths, but I tend to only use them for 2 as they're a bit of a treat and I find that any more baths and you start to lose the full effect of the essential oils.

As soon as I put my half of Flosty Gritter in the bath the water turned a nice shade of pink and the scent started to circular around the bathroom. There were many mounds of bubbles floating around and they all seemed to last an exceptional amount of time. This bubble bar is scented with clary sage oil and benzoin (this has a sweet vanilla type scent). Together they make a lovely scent, it's slightly lavender, slightly sweet, and very relaxing - none of the tones are too overpowering.

This bubble bar does have glitter in it, but I never found it to be too problematic. I am slightly wary of glittery product just incase it goes absolutely everywhere, but I didn't notice it very much in the bath and although I found some remains of it in the tub post-bath it was easily washed down the plug hole, and it was very fine glitter. I found the bubble bar to be very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyed using it.

          Ingredients:
          Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar (Tartaric acid), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Cocamide DEA, Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia), Clary Sage Oil (Salvia sclarea), Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia), Benzoin Resinoid (Styrax benzoin), *Linalool, Colour 45410, Colour 17200, Pink Glitter (Polyethylene terephthalate and Acrylates copolymer)}

The only problem with this bubble bar is that it's just be announced by Lush that it will be discontinued - so try it now if it sounds like your kind of bubble bar!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A great bubble bar, lots of fun for all girlies of all ages!

Flosty Gritter is my absolute staple from Lush. It is cute and girly and smells fantastic. It has the scent of lavender and vanilla though the lavender is barely evident, I have never really noticed it. The scent reminds me of vanilla cream soda and it also smells the same as Lush's American cream hair conditioner which is honey, strawberries, vanilla and oranges. It is gorgeous and a strong scent too - it leaves not only my skin highly scented for hours but also my bathroom.

When you break it up under running water in the bath, this bubble bar creates millions of bubbles and it releases tons of pink glitter, making your bath sparkle and it turns the water pink. It makes for the most fun bath for woman, girls and little girlies everywhere. My daughter is 4 and she loves Flosty Gritter.

It is currently £3.30 for a 100g bubble bar which can easily be broken up into 2 or even 4 pieces to last for more baths. I am slightly naughty and greedy and use the whole thing each and every time!

Definately one of Lush's best products.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

A fantastic fun yet relaxing bubble bar.

Flosty Gritter is one of my favourite bubble bars. The sales assistant recommended I use this on a day when everything that could go wrong had gone wrong, and Flosty Gritter would make the world a better place again! She was absolutely right!

To begin with, bubble bars are an alternative to bottles of traditional bubble bath, made by Lush. They are sold "naked", as no packaging means fewer resources are wasted and so it is more environmentally friendly. You will usually see them stacked up in pretty little piles in any Lush store. To use on, you simply crumble it under running water in the bath. Swish the water about a bit to help it dissolve, and it makes mountains of bubbles. Flosty Gritter also turns the bath bright pink and very glittery, so it is particularly appealing to any girly girls who love a bit of pink sparkly pampering.

Lush's bubble bars are designed to be used whole. This would be extremely extravagant for me, given that a Flosty Gritter would set me back £3.30 for roughly 100g (as they are made by hand using natural ingredients, the exact size, shape and weight will vary slightly). If I could afford to have a whole one every bath time, believe me I would. However, I have found that I can split this into quarters, and still have a thoroughly blissful bath using just one quarter. You get less bubbles but still significantly more than you would from using traditional bubble bath. This brings down the cost to roughly 83p per bath. Compared to a standard bottle of bubble bath which only costs a couple of quid and lasts a large number of baths, this is still expensive. However I believe it is well worth it for a much more superior bathing experience!

Flosty Gritter's unusual name comes from Lush's product developer, Noriko Muira. In Japanese, L's and R's sound the same, and so she accidentally wrote Flosty Gritter on their jar of sparkles instead of Frosty Glitter! The name stuck, and Lush decided the name was perfect for this bubble bar.

Flosty Gritter contains sweet vanilla and lavender, which I found surprising as it doesn't smell of traditional lavender to me. I can definitely smell the vanilla, but I found it more fruity than of lavender. It is a very girly, relaxing, therapeutic smell. It's a scent that is utterly delicious and works perfectly with it's girly, sparkly appearance.

Having had a truly horrendous day, I took the sales assistant's advice and ran a hot bath with Flosty Gritter. The sight of a bright pink glittery bath full of mountains of bubbles was fantastic, it looked so fun and inviting. As soon as I got in the bath I became incredibly relaxed. It's a corny cliche, I know, but I could literally feel my worries drift away, and I begin to feel calm and composed. The water felt really moisturising, and the backs of my legs in particular felt really soft in the water. The scent was blissful, and it was a really incredibly soothing bath. I was in there for over two hours, and had to really drag myself out! I had kept topping up the water to keep it warm, but there were still some bubbles left even after all that time.

I was initially worried that I would emerge from the bath covered in glitter. Thankfully this was not the case. I had previously been told that if you're using a glittery ballistic or melt, that by popping in a small amount of bubble bar, the glitter will not stick to your skin. There must be some clever ingredient in the bubble bars to stop the glitter sticking, as after I had tried myself, I was very relieved to see that there was no glitter on me or in my hair at all. Also, the glitter did not stick to the sides of the bath, which was brilliant. It is always disappointing to get out of a lovely, relaxing bath and discover you need to spend the next 20 minutes scrubbing the bath to get it clean again. No need for that with Flosty Gritter!

My skin was left extremely soft and smooth, even my super dry legs had benefited and felt much softer than usual. I was left feeling calm, relaxed, and ready to take on the world- a huge contrast to the tired, angry, and fed up state I had been before running the bath!

Flosty Gritter is available from any Lush store, or from lush.co.uk. They have a shelf life of 14 months if they are stored properly- out of direct sunlight, wrapped in clingfilm or in an air tight sandwhich bag, as the yellow bags tend to absorb the oils and dry out the bubble bars. However they really are best fresh, when they are lovely and crumbly, and extra-strongly scented.

Flosty Gritter is one of the dearer bubble bars- they range from £2.35 to £3.99, and so because of this I only buy it as an occasional treat. However it is easily one of the best ones I have ever tried. I always keep one stashed away in my Lush box in case of emergencies, as I can rely on it to make me feel much better after a bad day. However, due to its sparkles and fun colour, I think it would also be well suited for using before a night out, and it would certainly appeal to little girls everywhere! Don't let the glitter (or the pinkness!) but you off, Flosty Gritter makes a truly special bath. I definitely recommend giving this a try.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

                Wow-ee!

Flosty Gritter is a bubble bar made by Lush. It looks like a sweetie or something. It's a large nugget of pink coloured stuff that looks like play-doh. It's covered in glitter!

It's such a lovely, girly sort of thing and I imagine if you gave one to a young teenage girl or young girl they'd love you for it!

To use it, you just break about a third (or more or less if you like, but I find a third makes a perfect bath) off and crumble it under running water OR onto the base of your bath before running the taps.

As the water hits the crumbs they will turn into lovely, fluffy white bubbles. The glitter gives the bubbles and bath water a fantastic looking shimmer and some of it will stick to your skin - but, take it from a confirmed glitter hater, it's not annoying or itchy or very noticeable at all really.

The scent is a vanillaey smell (the same as in American Cream conditioner!) and is very feminine. It's relaxing and uplifting and ...well, just gorgeous.

This is a fantastic bubble bar and I highly reccomend it!

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

If you like girly pink things try this!

I got bought this bubble bar from Lush as a present and as anybody would be I was really excited and chuffed to have a received a Lush gift :) but I was a bit nervous about the glitter!

I am not really a fan of glittery body products (other than eyeliner :D) as I seem to find the glitter in some very strange places several days after using the product but I couldn't let a Lush product go to waste now could I!?

The bar is a gorgeous vibrant bright pink fushcia colour and has millions of little dazzling glitter specks all over it, it is defenately an eye catcher. I was a bit worried about touching it so I could smell it as I could see the usual problem occuring of getting the glitter all over my hands then rubbing my eye and getting glitter in my eye and up my nose lol you know the story we have all been there!

Well I was quite suprised as when I put it down I hardly had any glitter on my hand so that was an added bonus. The bar has a gorgeous mourish scent of spiced vanilla, it is quite a warming but sweet scent not too sweet though.

I had to make sure I used it when my boyfriend didn't want to share the bath as the last experience he had with a glittery bubble bar from Lush didn't go down well, he didn't stop moaning for about a week lol.

As always when I ran the bath I broke the bubble bar in half and wrapped up the other half for another time, you don't need to use the whole bar you get plently of bubbles from half. The minute I crumbled it under the running water the bath started to turn this gorgeous fuschia colour and the bubbles started to take over the whole bath. As with most bubble bars from Lush it left an oily slick on the top of the water but this is just the essential oils that make your skin feel so soft, its nothing to worry about!

After stepping in the bath I was checking for ages to try and find the glitter but couldn't really see much as it is the same colour as the water so it blends in really well and quite a lot of it sits on the bottom of the bath (so you might have a sparkly bottom :D) I lifted my leg out the bath and was suprised to see hardly any glitter on it at all. The bubbles lasted about 20 minutes before disappearing totally and the smell in the bathroom was gorgeous! I always make sure I keep the door and window shut etc so the smell can't escape, I also leave the door closed while the bath is running as its lovely to walk in and get a whiff of the Lush lovliness :)

When I stepped out I inspected myself thoroughly to see if I looked like an Xmas fairy and there wasn't one sign of a bit of glitter on me which I was delighted about and my skin felt unbelievably soft as always after using a bubble bar.

I would defenately buy this product again from Lush and it is a permanent Lush product which is nice to know. The smell is lovely and lasts on your skin for about an hour after getting out the bath.

                Lush Say:

A sparkly, sexy bath for a night on the town. Flosty Gritter is a party bath. Its blend of balancing lavender and sweet vanilla makes an irresistibly attractive scent. Don't be surprised if people are drawn to your pink sparkles and stay within sniffing distance for the rest of the evening. The name? Well, our product developer, Noriko Muira, gets her 'r's and 'l's mixed up, as they sound the same in Japanese. Guess what she wrote on the jar of frosty glitter that gives Flosty Gritter its pink sparkles?

You can buy this from the Lush website or any nationwide store for £3.30 for 100g. It is more pricey than other bars but it is worth it if you like girly smells and you do get two baths out of it!

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

                  Worth treating yourself to!

                  RRP: £3.30

                  Design:
It's pink. It's glittery. That's already enough to win me over! I was attracted to this because it was bright pink and full of glitter. However, I was worried that because it was so glittery it may stick to my skin when I used it!

                  How to use:
When using a bubble bar, you simply just crumble it under hot water. A little does go a long way though, so I usually try to make 2/3 baths out of one bubble bar.

                  What was it like:
Once it had crumbled into the water, the bath turned a bright pink colour. It was great! As well as this, a considerable amount of bubbles were produced!

                  Smell:
It is a very light, fresh scent of lavender and sweet vanilla. The smell isn't particularly strong, and I was more impressed with the bubbles and colour than the smell, but don't get me wrong it was still lovely :)

                  Afterwards:
After my bath my skin felt fabulous and smelt lovely! Thankfully, the glitter doesn't stick to your body! However, you can feel it at the bottom of your bath and it feels similar to sand which is a little off putting.

                  Overall:
A great product and a nice treat, and I'll definitely repurchase. However, it is a little pricey!

LUSH DO NOT TEST THEIR PRODUCTS ON ANIMALS!!!

                    4/5

As I said in my last review, I recently got the Think Pink hatbox from Lush, and this is the first products I used from my box. I'd never used a bubble bar before, it's abit like bubble bar but well... a bar. You crumble some off and put it under running water and fills your bath with bubbles, it's a really good idea however I did use abit too much the first time as I'd never used it before.

Price: I got this in a set but I think it's about £3 on it's own, I think this is quite good as I used just under half the bar and there really was a lot of bubbles so I think this 100g bar would probably last about 3 baths, so it works out at about £1 per bath which isn't too bad at all seen as it's such a lovely product.

Look and Smell: This product is bright pink and has glitter all over, it's very girly and would look nice just in a bowl in the bathroom. There is alot of glitter though so you can get quite covered after being in the bath, so perfect to use if you're just having a night in otherwise you might look abit silly. I think this bubble bar has quite a floral scent to it, but it's also mixed with vanilla, which is one of my favourite scents so this is perfect for me. The scent sticks around in the bathroom for quite a while too and you can really smell it on your skin.

What Lush say: "A sparkly, sexy bath for a night on the town. Guess what she wrote on the jar of frosty glitter that gives Flosty Gritter its pink sparkles?"

Overall: This is a lovely product well worth a try, however you will sparkle afterwards so don't use it in a bath before work or college, it isn't that bad in price either as I think it would last for 3 baths and like all Lush products it's not tested on animals and this one's suitable for vegans too!

                      Lush Flosty Gritter Bubble Bar

Description: Brand: Lush / Type: Bath Foam.

                      www.lush.co.uk

I must start by pointing out that the Lush website currently have some fab offers available whereby if you spend a certain amount, they will send you extra free stuff - an offer not to be missed so get online now and have a look!

If you haven't shopped there before and are not sure what Lush are all about, they create hand made cosmetics from only natural ingredients. They never test on animals and ensure that they only use suppliers who don't either. Many of their products are suitable for vegans.

Lush also support quite a lot of charities and projects around the world, you can find more information on this on their website, along with products and ingredients. You can shop online and also locate your nearest store.

Bubble bars are solid bars which should be crumbled under warm running water where they create heaps of fluffy bubbles and release their gorgeous fragrance to scent the water and the whole bathroom too. One bubble bar will usually give you two or even three baths worth of bubbles.

This bubble bar contains glitter which makes your skin sparkly so it is a great one for using before a night out. It does cling to the bathtub too so you will have to scrub it down afterwards!

A 100g bubble bar will cost you £3.30 and is suitable for vegans.

The fragrance of this one is lovely and quite feminine. It is a mixture of vanilla and lavender and is quite sweet. The scent fills the whole bathroom and along with the pretty pink glitter, clings to your skin for hours afterwards.

                      Ingredients are as follows;

                      Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar (Tartaric acid), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Cocamide DEA, Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia), Clary Sage Oil (Salvia sclarea), Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia), Benzoin Resinoid (Styrax benzoin), *Linalool, Colour 45410, Colour 17200, Pink Glitter (Polyethylene terephthalate and Acrylates copolymer)}

                      *Occurs naturally in essential oils

I really like this bubble bar but because it does leave you sparkling with glitter, it is one that cannot be used all the time - unless of course, you fancy going to the office covered in sparkles! It is a lovely girly fragrance and a great way to get an all over glittery effect for a night out. I have sensitive skin but have never had a problem using this bar and would definitely recommend that you try it.

                        Best bubble bath ever

I got this product in the Christmas gift box from my brother. The idea of a pink glittery bubble bath greatly intrigued me, although I couldn't use it straight away as I was living in a house with no bath, I could only use it when I got back to my parents' house.

When I finally got round to doing this, I ran the bath and dropped the bubble bar into it. The bar fizzed delightfully and dissolved producing loads of bubbles. I used the whole bar, but after reading reviews on here I think I'll only use half or a quarter of the bar in the future!

I can honestly say that I had the best bath I have ever had! The water was pink and glittery, which was just lovely. The amount of bubbles was amazing. The smell of vanilla and lavender was really lovely and natural, it didn't smell unnatural or of chemicals, which is a problem I find with a lot of bubble bath.

My skin is sensitive, but wasn't irritated by this product at all.

After my bath I noticed that there was some glitter left at the bottom, but I managed to wash this off quite easily. I must have, as my parents didn't say anything to me, and they're very quick to complain if I make a mess of the bathroom ;-)

I would definitely buy this again, it was lovely. I'm not sure how much it is, having got it as a present.

                          Advantages

                          Disadvantages

                          For any Lush lover

Having made my way through most of my Lush stash this was my last bubble bar, I think the reason it had been left in the box was the glitter...as much as I love a bit of glitter I didnt fancy the job of scrubbing it off my bath! But after a hard days work and wanting a nice hot bath this was my only Lushy option.

A bubble bar is basically solid bubble bath, not using any preservatives means it keeps a solid shape which is described as looking like a blob of play-doh! To unleash the bubbles you just simply crumble under the warm running water, make sure you wash your hands after this as it turns into a pink glittery paste whilst crumbling. One bar is more than enough for a bath, I tend to use half at a time.

Im normally attracted to the sweet, candy scented Lush products so had a slight change with the scent to this bubble bar. It still maintains a sweet smell but mixed with floral too, Lush describe it as being a mix of vanilla and lavender, personally I couldn't smell lavender which I'm glad about as it reminds me of an old lady smell :)

The bubble bar turns your bath water a lovely bright pink and glittery colour hidden under a mass of bubbles! The only problem would be rinsing this off your bath after, it does leave a bit of a mess, but definately worth it. My skin always feels clean and soft after using Lush products which is why I keep using them!

It is a bit pricey at £3.18 but if you enjoy a long relaxing bath its more than worth it! Lush is available to buy in most high streets and also on the internet so its well worth having a look and giving it a try. For anyone who needs to know this bubble bar is also Vegan friendly.

                            Advantages

                            Disadvantages

I would highly recommend this for a luxurious Lush bath.

I purchased a Think Pink gift set in February 2009 which contained 12 delightfully pink products for £43.99 (before my 10% discount) & this was one of the lovely products.

As you will see from the photograph above this is certainly a pink, I would definitely describe it as a sexy pink and is covered in lots of pink/purple glitter. It doesn't cover my hands quite as much as I thought it would so I'm pleased about that.

Some of the scents within this bubble bar are lavender and vanilla so this is definitely making for a nice relaxing bath!

The Bubble Bar is kind of a squished oval shape and I would definitely recommend breaking it in to two or four to help you get your moneys worth. Each bubble bar is £3.18 so if you did break it up it's not a bad price at all! I normally have one nice luxurious Lush bath a week and use my normal, cheaper products throughout the rest of the week.

Lush recommend that you crumble up your bar before adding it to the bath to produce extra bubbles and I definitely agree that this works better than just chucking a piece in the bath and waiting for the magic to happen! This bubble bar produces a lovely amount of bubbles and has a very delicious fragrant smell which will linger in the bathroom for quite a while.

This product gives my skin a nice layer of glitter, nothing too thick. The smell is lovely and lingers on my skin all through the evening, even my other half notices and tells me how delicious I smell (but then he does say that all the time!).

You will need to give your bath a clean afterwards otherwise you will be decorating the whole family in glitter but that's not really a downside if you normally have your Lush bath on a Saturday night and then do your chores on a Sunday (like me!).

I am rating this product 5/5 as you can easily get away with using a quarter per bath so this is quite a cheap product really, especially for what you get out of the bath!!!

Flosty Gritter is a sweet smelling, sexy bubble bar. One of my new favourites!

                              ~Introduction~
Well, when Christmas came around it seemed that a lot of people didn't know what to buy me so they all ran into Lush and grabbed a handful of whatever pink glttery thing caught their eye first! :) This has left me with a box full of Lush goodies, many of which I haven't used before.

One such gift was a Flosty Gritter bubble bar. I'm a big fan of the Creamy Candy and Ma Bar bubble bars so I'm not sure how I missed this one up until now!

                              ~The Bubble Bar~
Flosty Gritter is a ridiculously girly shade of pink: the kind of pink that little girls like! It is coated in a sparkly, pinky lilac glitter so it is twinkly. Very girly. I must confess I was somewhat dubious about the glitter. Some days I just want to have a bath and get clean... not come out looking like a fairy! I waited until I was 'in the mood' for a glittery bath and crumbled the bar into the bath.

According to the Lush website you get better bubbles if you crumble your bubble bar into the bath while it is dry, and then run the water. I gave this technique a try and can happily confirm that extra bubbliness was forth-coming!

My first impression of the smell of Flosty Gritter is it's a sexier more grown-up version of Creamy Candy. Flosty Gritter's main scent is one of Lush's secret perfumes, one of the ones where they just write 'perfume' on the label rather than break it down. I guess it's to stop those pesky competitors ripping off their products! The scents that it will admit to are Vanilla Absolut, Clary Sage Oil and Lavender oil and I could really smell the Vanilla, but not so much the Clary Sage and Lavender. The over-all affect is a sweet but musky perfume. I really liked the way Flosty Gritter smelt- perhaps it will be good for a nice soak before a romantic night in?! ;-)

Once your bath is run the water changes the same shade of pink as the bubble bar. I'm not a big fan of pink, but the colour was nice. I can only describe it as a 'sexy pink' rather than a 'girly pink'.

The glitter swirls around prettily, but happily does not stick to you very much, so you don't come out looking like you've escaped from fairy land. However, when you let the water run out it will leave all the glitter behind. (You will need to give the bath a good clean or people using the bath may come out looking like THEY'VE escaped fairy land, and they may not be very happy!)

It is available at Lush in store and online for £3.19 per bubble bar. If you want to make it last a little longer you can cut your bar into halves or quarters. I tend to go the whole hog and use it all in one go!

ps. It isn't at all gritty!
