Advantages: Smells warm and spicy!
Disadvantages: None
This is one of the limited edition Christmas products which Lush released this year and being a slight Lush addict I of course snapped one up! As you can see from the picture, it looks absolutely gorgeous and almost edible, although I would advise against it.
This lovely little gingerbread house is actually one of Lush's bubble bars, which are essentially a solid bubble bath! In order to use, you simply crumble the bar underneath a running bath tap and watch the bubbles form and the colour of the water change! The best piece of advise I can offer with bubble bars, is to cut off a smaller chunck to put under the tap, because if you try and put the whole bar in and then allow it to dry again, chances are it will still manage to melt!
In terms of this specific bubble bar, it is unsurprisingly ginger scented! According to the Lush website it contains ginger powder, ginger essential oil, as well as lemon oil and some buchu oil which apparantly smells of blackcurrant. I have to say the prominent and probably only scent I can identify is the ginger, which is fine with me! This is the main quality which draws me to the product, because I love spicy warm scents in the winter. The scent definitely lingers on the skin and also generally in the bath room for a while after use which I really love.
The bubble bar turns your water an orange colour, which I find neither appealing nor unappealing. In terms of being a bubble bath, this product performs amazingly, as do all of the bubble bars I have used from Lush! I find the bubbles from the bars are longer lasting and seem to be almost thicker then the ones you traditionally get from liquid bubble baths. You can definitely have a long soak and still find you have bubbles at the bottom of the bath once you have drained it, so make sure you give it a quick rinse!
I give this product a 5/5, because it is a great winter warmer and makes me feel I am having a really luxurious bathtime, with a product that costs around £3 and can be used at least twice!
Summary: A really lovely winter warmer.
