Advantages: Reasonable price, smell, multi-purpose

Disadvantages: None

It's Raining Men is a shower gel made and sold by Lush, an amazing and very popular company that sells their own handmade, natural and vegan friendly bath and shower products, and they also have their own range of lip tints and perfumes. This shower gel has been around for a while now, but I only got around to trying it a couple of months ago and swiftly fell in love with it after the first whiff - it seriously smells amazing. I also like that it's a multi-purpose product - it can be used on the hair as a shampoo, as well as a shower gel.

The shower gel is available from Lush's website or in-store and it retails at £4.25 for a 100 gram bottle. There are also 2 larger sizes - 250 grams (RRP £8.50) and 500 grams (RRP £14.95). I decided to buy the smallest size as I wasn't sure if I would like it, but now that I have tried it and love it so much I will be re-purchasing the larger 500 gram bottle when my current bottle of it runs out - it's well worth the price. The ingredients in this are all lovely. The main one that stands out to me is honey (hence the product name). Honey makes up 40 percent of the ingredients and is antibacterial and can be used to treat a range of skin conditions. It's very nourishing and moisturising, and protects the skin. Most of the other ingredients (eg rosehip, lotus flowers, tiger lily infusion etc) mainly contribute towards the smell rather than having benefits on the skin.

Packaging wise, the shower gel comes in a basic but reasonably stylish/attractive sturdy plastic bottle, which is slightly rounded and transparent - this means I am easily able to tell when i'm starting to run low and need to re-purchase another bottle, which I think is handy. The bottle has a black flip lid, which when flipped up exposes a small hole in which the product comes out of when the bottle's tipped upside down. There's a black sticker wrapped around the middle of the bottle, which has a very brief product description, the product name and the Lush logo. The product description reads 'Hallelujah! Bless mother nature for all the sensual honey and exotic flowers we squeeze in each bottle. Get absolutely soaking wet an lather up with this honey wash for your body and hair'.

Lush say that this is a sensual and luxurious treat, and boast that their product will make you smell irrestistable, with this quote (taken from the lush.co.uk site) - 'your partner won't be able to keep their hands off you once you've showered with this. In fact, we're pretty sure they'll be joining you in the shower as soon as they get a whiff of the gorgeous honey-scented steam coming from the bathroom.' They also say that this is the 'shower gel of your dreams' if you like their Honey I Washed the Kids soap as it's the shower gel equivalent - the scent is the same. The shower gel smells absolutely gorgeous - it's very overpowering at first but I soon got used to it. It has an almost foody scent which is sweet and sugarry - it definietly smells like honey with a pleasant tone of citrus with an undertone of what smells like warm jasmine, it's very refreshing and comforting and it is in my opinion quite a feminine smell. The smell fills the bathroom when i'm using it too which I like.

The smell lingers on my skin for an hour or so after I have used it which I like, and my boyfriend likes the smell on me (or so he says!) The texture of the shower gel isn't too thick but not too thin, it spreads over my body well as it's smooth with an almost silky feel and it lathers well. It leaves my skin clean and feeling moisturised as well as smelling gorgeous and I always feel lovely and fresh after using it. I use this on my hair on some occasions too when I fancy a bit of a change. I have thick, long hair and need a medium sized blob. It lathers well and washes out fine, it doesn't leave any behind and it's not sticky. It leaves my hair feeling soft, clean and fresh and it also smells gorgeous, it lingers in my hair for quite a while which I like.

Overall, I love this. It smells amazing and does an amazing job of nourishing my skin, leaving it smooth and soft, and keeping my hair clean and well looked after. It's well priced considering the quality and I give it 5/5 stars!

Summary: Smells amazing
