Lush It's Raining Men Shower Gel
Advantages: Leaves you fresh and clean, and smells lovely
Disadvantages: The aroma won't be for everyone and it's expensive
Whenever I go to the shops, I somehow manage to come home with a product from Lush. I just can't walk past the store and once in there, I can't leave empty handed. My latest purchase was the 'It's Raining Men' shower gel by Lush.
What does the product do?
The main purpose of the product is to cleanse the skin on your body leaving it squeaky clean and free from dirt and impurities. The product contains plenty of natural ingredients including honey which add moisture to the skin leaving it soft and smooth, while also helping to protect the skin. Also included is Lotus Flowers, Tiger Lilly infusions, as well as Sweet Orange Oil and Bergamot Oil to brighten and tone the skin. The product is also designed for use on the hair and it promises to leave the sweet scent of honey behind it wherever it goes.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a clear plastic bottle through which you can see the product inside. It has a black sticker on the front which gives a little bit more information about the product. It has a black flip top lid which is easy to open and close, even when you hands are wet and soapy. The product comes in three different sizes. I bought the smallest 100 gram bottle for £4 but there is also a 250 gram bottle and a 500 gram bottle although the bigger bottles obviously cost more. You can buy the product from your local Lush store or from their online website.
Aroma and Consistency
The product does smell of honey as you would expect it too with honey being the main ingredient. It also smells a lit bit like toffee, sugar and it has a tiniest hint of floral and fruity aromas. The overriding one however is that of sweet, delicious honey. I like the aroma. It doesn't get sickly to me but it did get sickly for my friends when they use it. I find it lovely to use but I do think that it won't be to everyone's liking so you should give it a sniff before you buy. The product in honey in colour as you can see when it's in the bottle. It has the consistency that you would expect from a shower gel but it's maybe a little tad thicker.
Application and Performance
You can either apply some of the product straight onto damp skin or onto a sponge. You don't need to use much of the product in order to get the desired results. If you use a sponge, you do get quite a good lather going and it makes you feel like it's getting you nice and clean. The aroma is quite strong and evident the whole time that you're in the shower. The product feels silky and hydrating on the skin and it hasn't caused me any irritations or discomfort. Once the product has been washed away, my skin smells really sweet and it makes me feel fresh and clean. My skin feels soft to the touch and I don't experience any dryness or tightness. The product doubles up as a shampoo but I haven't used the product is this way as I don't like using 'shower gels' in my hair so I can't comment on how it fairs for this purpose.
All in all, this is a lovely shower gel with a strong honey scent which leaves you feeling fresh and clean. It's packed full of natural ingredients and leaves the skin feeling softer. It is quite expensive but I do like it so I would probably repurchase this when mine runs out. The aroma won't be for everyone so it's worth sniffing this because you buy it to avoid disappointment.
Summary: A lovely honey scented shower gel which leaves you feeling fresh and clean
