Yep, I'm still reviewing bath and beauty products that I received at Christmas, and probably will be for quite a long time to come! My mum got me a lovely Christmas-themed set of four Lush bath ballistics, and after trying out Christmas Party, my second choice was this Jingle Spells bath ballistic.

Unfortunately it's only available from Lush at Christmas, but you try your luck online if you want to buy it at another time of year. It's been around for several years now, so hopefully it will be back for Christmas 2011 (can't believe I'm talking about that already!).

I'm not sure how much this bath ballistic usually costs as I received it as part of a limited edition gift set, but I would guess it's a standard Lush bath ballistic price between £2.50 and £3.50 ish.

The ballistic is a lovely lilac colour with a few gold and silver stars on top. I was prepared this time and realised that they were an indication of the silver and gold stars inside the bath ballistic, so it didn't come as a shock when the ball fizzed away and quite a few stars appeared. Thankfully, this ballistic doesn't contain as many stars as the Christmas Party one though.

I picked out this bath ballistic from the set because of the slight citrus scent to it - for some reason citrus scents always make me feel cleaner. The faint sweet smell comes from the tangerine ingredient, and the bath ballistic also contains juniperberry, fennel and ylang ylang. I would say these smells aren't as predominant for me, although maybe that's because I wouldn't be able to recognise them individually. I would say that the smell of this bath ballistic is pretty inoffensive, not the best scent from Lush but nowhere near as bad as the worst.

I dropped the bath bomb in my bath at that lovely stage when the water is deep enough and hot enough to get in, but the tap's still running because the bath isn't full yet. Jingle Spells immediately started fizzing round energetically, and my bath turned a lovely deep shade of purple. It was beautiful, and very different. It didn't stain the bath or my skin, and was a lot more practical than bubbles. The scent of the ballistic didn't linger too long, or maybe I was still in too awe of my royal purple bath to notice it.

My skin didn't feel particularly softer after the ballistic, but then I'm lucky enough to have soft skin anyway so people with rougher skin may well experience benefits. So far this is the best Lush ballistic I've tried and there weren't even many stars to clean up at the end - bonus!
