Lush Karma Bubble Bar
Advantages: Fragrance, copious amounts of bubbles, silky oils, great colours.
Disadvantages: Is expensive.
I recently went into my local highstreet LUSH store with £15 on a giftcard to spend. I am a regular shopper at LUSH so understand that their products are usually quite expensive. I therefore was aiming to buy the cheapest bath treats in the store so I could get as many different items as I could. However when I saw this Karma Bubble Bar I knew I had to have it regardless of the cost. It is £3.15 for one cupcake sized product and was the most expensive thing I purchased. The bright colours and distinctive fragrance were very appealing.
The Karma Bubble Bar is a product which you add to your bath in order to create lots of foam. Bubble bars at Lush tend to contain essential oils too which can have various benefits for the skin. They also have fragrances which can stimulate or seduce the senses. The Karma Bubble Bar I bought was shaped a little differently to the picture appearing on Dooyoo. My Karma was shaped like a little scone with slightly sloping edges. The colour of the Karma Bar is two shades of orange, one vivid orange and one more of a peach shade. These two colours are swirled into a spiral shape like a candy lollipop.
The texture of the Karma Bubble Bar is like slightly moist sand at a beach. The bar can be squashed and pulled into pieces. This means you can use it gradually if you like. I have been able to get three baths from one bar. If you want to indulge yourself just use the whole thing in one go though! To use it you just drop it into your hot bath water. I have found that it can be more beneficial to crush the bar in your hands under a running tap and rub as if it's a soap. This way every last piece of the bar is transformed into bubble. Otherwise you do tend to get small bits of what look like sand lumps floating around in the bath.
The bar taints the water which turns cloudy pink and creates lots of large, oily bubbles which feel very soft and smooth. You can create even more bubbles by agitating the bath water. Even a third of this bar managed to create a whole bath full of bubbles which at their peak were about six inches deep. The bubbles feel so luxurious that I love to rub them over my skin. It's very satisfying!
The fragrance of the Karma bar is unique and beautiful. I've read some reviews about this bar which state that it could be suitable for men because of the fragrance. This is probably because the fragrance is quite sharp and musky. It does remind me of men's aftershave a little bit. It also reminds me of that classic hippy shop smell - you know those stores that sell incense sticks, moon shaped earrings and velvet skirts. I believe it's the patchouli oil which is responsible. I personally really love the fragrance as it feels like you are enveloped by a very rich perfume, the perfume of Oriental princesses. However I do think the fragrance could be one that you either love or hate so be careful if buying this as a gift. The bar also contains sweet orange oil which contributes a hint of fruity freshness. There are some sharp, clean notes of pine from the Pine oil ingredient too. The bar also contains lemongrass oil, elemi oil and lavandin oil.
What I love about this particular bubble bar is that it leaves my skin feeling really fresh and as though I've treated it well with moisturising oils. It also leaves the most fantastic and very noticable fragrance on my skin which lasts all day after bathing. It's a fragrance that actually smells like an expensive perfume so I feel really confident about smelling great.
I'm really glad I decided to spend the extra penny and buy this although I'm afraid at the price it retails at I will only be able to buy it now and then. Apart from the price I love everything about the bar, from it's colours which make me feel bright and awake to the plentiful bubbles it creates to the way it treats your skin to the amazing fragrance.
You can buy these bubble bars online or in their high street shops and you can also get other products with the Karma fragrance such as hard soap:
Summary: All round great experience using this.
