Lush Ma Bar Bubble Bar
Advantages: Smells delicious, makes my skin feel soft, plenty of bubbles!
Disadvantages: The colour it turns the bath water!
I'd never tried the Lush Ma Bar Bubble Bar before, but I just had to put it in with my New Year order when I saw Lush's "chocolate-toffee bar" description of it!
The Lush Ma Bar is half brown (cocoa) and half cream coloured (honey toffee) and has a brown sugar lump on top in the middle! Apparently, this Lush bubble bar was only supposed to be a limited edition one for Mothers' Day, but it proved so popular that Lush couldn't stop making it... and I'm glad. (On a side note: the Lush Ma Bar actually looks a lot better than the above picture shows)
I think Lush's Ma Bar Bubble Bar smells like a cross between a Mars bar, a Cadbury's Crunchie bar and nougat. You can certainly smell the honey in it as it is quite strong (but not over powering). It's a delicious smell, so much so that you almost want to eat the bubble bar... However that's not advisable (else you'd be foaming at the mouth and more)!
As with Lush's other bubble bars, you don't have to put the whole thing in the bar at once... In fact, I think you'd be over run with bubbles if you did! This time I cut my bubble bar in half...
Crumbling half of my Ma Bar Bubble Bar under the running bath water, I found that the bar crumbled easily but seemed to take longer to dissolve than other Lush bubble bars I've experienced. However, once crumbled under the running water, the bubbles appeared instantly and were quite thick too (Just how I like my bath bubbles!). Due to the colour of the bubble bar, the water turned a murky shade of brown - like you've got dirty water or your bathing in some kind of tea! Thankfully though, the bath and bathroom did smell delicious when using the Ma Bar! Having used just half a bar per bath, I found that there was a thick layer of bubbles on top of the water by the time the bath was full, I could only imagine how many there would have been if I had used the whole bar in one go!
Sinking into the bath water I found it to feel lovely on my skin. It had a slight oily feel to it, but not overly so and I couldn't see any oil lying on the water (after I'd waved some bubbles our of the way!). My skin felt soft while I soaked in the water and continued to feel soft after my bath too. I did find myself fancying some chocolate or fudge or something... though I couldn't satisfy that craving as (a) I was in the bath; and (b) I'm lactose intolerant and shouldn't eat such things!
Letting the bath water down the plug hole, I did notice some brown grains that were surely off the brown part of the bubble bar, but they disappeared with a quick swish over water over them.
I used my Lush Rock Star soap, but I'd imagine Lush's Honey I Washed The Kids soap might also go well with this bubble bar (although you might find the combined smell a little too over powering).
Would I buy & use this again? Yes!
