Advantages: Lovely scent, lasts ages, gentle
Disadvantages: Price
Last time I ordered from Lush Online, I bought 100g of each of the Christmas soaps. One of them was the brand new soap for this year, Mr Punch.
This soap was originally designed as a summer soap, but was turned into a winter soap after a bit of tinkering. Said to be a 'bowl of punch from your summer garden party out on the lawn in the freezing winter', it certainly looks the part, being a deep red colour with chunks of fruity soap lodged inside. My slice looked very attractive and appetising!
Though originally conceived as a summer product, this soap to me has a definite autumn/winter feel, as it contains juniper berries, blackcurrant absolute, lime oil and gin. It smells amazing: fruity and alcoholic, it is lovely solid but when you wash your hands with it, it smells even better! I can't stop sniffing my hands after using this soap.
The soap is suitable for vegans and is made with a base of rapeseed and coconut oils. Lush no longer use a palm oil base for their soaps as it is bad for the environment and has led to the destruction of palm habitats.
Mr Punch doesn't seem to be used up quickly: my piece is lasting pretty well. It doesn't irritate or dry out my skin, either, which is good because I always put off applying hand cream because I want to smell the soap!
At £3.75 this is rather a pricey soap, but it is of extremely high quality and I thoroughly enjoy using it. Definitely recommended.
Summary: Lovely festive soap
