Lush Northern Lights Soap
Advantages: Looks good, lasts long and froths up well
Disadvantages: chemical type smell
Like I've said previously I used Lush soaps before until my birthday when my friend bought me a soap gift set, I kept it in mind that I really enjoyed them and when browsing through Ebay I came across the Christmas 2012 gift set tin packed with goodies, this included the Northern Lights and the Snow Globe soaps. As I've done more research it turns out the Northern lights was originally a 2011 Christmas limited edition soap. The design of this soap came about when the Lush team took many trips to see the Northern lights but were unable to see them so they have attempted to re create the lights in a fun soap.
This can be bought in weights of 100g and 500g however if you go into the Lush store you can have a piece cut to your desired weight, Unfortunately I don't know the price of just the soap but the whole tin set cost me it's original price of £32 which had eight goodies in it. The soap itself it quite nice to look at, it's made up of neon colours, the soap on a whole it is neon yellow but this has streaks of bright green and red through it.
The scent of this is supposed to be Lime and Pine so when you use it, it feels like the fresh crisp arctic outdoors. The Lime was very obvious scent which was lovely but sometimes over powering so I had to cut my soap up into chunks, this reduced the scent and made the soap more manageable at the same time. I love fruit smells but I prefer the sweeter smelling products, this reminded me of cleaning products and it was a bit too chemical smelling to me but I finished using the soap anyway.
When this lathered up all the colours mingled in the bubbles on my exfoliating mitts which created a green colour, which is nice since it smells of lime. This cleaned me really well but left my fingers feeling really dry because I was of course touching it with my hands all the time, the rest of my skin didn't feel dried out and it felt quite soft but I think that it mainly due to my mitts and not the product I was using, however it does include rapeseed and coconut oil which have moisturising effects.
On a whole I would recommend this soap and it does exactly as it should, however the scent is not one of my favorites as I prefer the sweeter scents.
Summary: A nice soap but not my favorite
