The sex bombe was presented to me in the usual lush paper bag, which could not hide its distinctive strong smell - reminiscent of the whiff you get when walking within a quarter mile radius of one of lush's shops. Although strong, the smell has a naturalness to it which saves it from being too overbearing or cloying. If you put the packaged bombe in a cupboard or drawer before using, the whole space will be scented before you know it!

I chucked the whole thing in my hot bath, and the result was instantaneous - a vivid girly pink colour spread across the whole bath, and I couldn't believe how strong and concentrated the pink colour was - very satisfying and therapeutic. There were little floaty papery petal-like bits too, and these sat well with the girliness of the bombe. The smell is very strong, both while lying in the pink bath itself and on the skin afterwards. It is sweet but not overly so, and the ylang ylang has a distinctive scent like some kind of spa massage oil. Again, the scent has a very natural, aromatic oil quality to it, so although it has an extremely strong, concentrated scent it is not a "headachy" "fake" smell.

After using, I felt relaxed, invigorated and smelling great! Not sure about the sex bombe part, but it does remind me of some kind of boudoir theme with its look and smell (but in a good way!)

I have used other lush bombes (e.g. big blue) that I didn't like as much as this one. Highly recommended!
