      Limited edition christmas special.

I purchased this product fairly recently and I am gutted it's only a limited edition because it makes me feel like a kid again bathing in pink glittery stuff with a sweet scent. The Snow fairy is a shower gel from lush, comes in all different sized bottles at various different prices and is of a dark pink glittery liquid with a sweet sweet scent like candy and bubble gum.

The shower gel can be used on the hair as well as the body as I have used the product on both, the sweet candy scent is brilliant and gives a really twist to any average shower gel with the added glitter and sparkle, which washes out of your hair but leaves a really shiny layer once dried. The sweet smell sticks to your hair after wards, I had so many compliments on the smell of my hair. I am going to buy loads and stock up since this item is only limited edition.

The shower gel lathers up really well and the strong sweet smell mellows out once you apply some under the water I can't fault this product much like all the other Lush products. I find it didn't moisturise my skin as well as some of Lush's other products but left a sweet scent on my skin after wards which was enough to make me happy. This bottle was sold in stores last Christmas as well but I didn't try it, I wish I'd have picked up a bottle sooner.

Really beautiful sweet smell and lovely colour, the sparkly glitter in the mixture leaves the hair looking shiny afterwards and the skin looking revitalised. On the pricey side for a bottle but limited edition so worth the buy, especially if you like sweet smelling body products.

      Christmas special

I love shower gels which are luxurious and pampering and normally I wouldn’t even look twice at this Snow fairy shower gel because from the gaudy colour I wouldn’t get luxury or indulgent from it but I tried it at a friend’s house and thought it was gorgeous so it has become something that I now buy myself every December.

The reason I only buy a bottle in December is because it is a limited edition which Lush only release during the festive period so I always treat myself to some then. When I go in to the shop and see it on the shelves I always know it isn’t going to be long until Christmas. You don’t have to wait until December though as Lush’s festive season is obviously longer than mine and it is available earlier than December.

It is quite an expensive shower gel and more expensive than I would expect from Lush but it is really good quality and you are getting something which is packed with good quality ingredients that haven’t been tested on animals. It costs £11.95 for the big bottle but I buy myself the medium sized bottle which costs £7.50. You don’t get a huge amount for this but you don’t need loads of it to get a good lather going and scent your skin so it is quite good value for money.

I don’t think the smell of this will be to everyone’s taste and I honestly didn’t think it would be to mine until I actually used it. It is very sweet smelling and I think it smells exactly like candy floss. Now this might sound disgusting for a shower gel but it works really well and leaves my skin the most amazing scent. Obviously when it is washed off it isn’t as strong so it just scents my skin a lovely sweet smell that lasts for ages.

The shower gel is lovely and thick and it gives a really nice lather when used with my puff. It feels really gentle on my skin and after getting out of the shower my skin is soft and actually feels moisturised.

One thing to be aware of is that this contains glitter. I have to say the glitter is so very minimal and doesn’t actually stay on your skin but occasionally if the light is right you will get a slight sparkle on your skin. Now I love this and actually wouldn’t mind if there was even more glitter but I know some people may not like it.

      Good shower gel

OK, I jumped in the band wagon... I bought this product in the tiniest size because I kept hearing people rave about it! and it kept selling out in my local LUSH store....
However, when I first smelled it... it was SOOOOO SWEET! like sickly sweet (reminds me of kids cough medicine)... that if I huffed on it long enough, I know I will get a headache...

BUT one of the consultants and I tried it in the store... and when the snow fairy shower get hit water, the scent mellowed out... like somehow the chemicals calmed down and the sickly sweet scent turned into a cottoncandy smell; and this also made my hands feel so soft...
The pink colour and the sparkles are visually appealing as well...

Like any other lush shower gels, it's not as moisturizing as a bath melt, so I have to use my kind of skin solid body lotion after using any lush shower gels just for added moisture...

WELL... I bought one of the 100 ml size for $10 to try... I think if I like it enough, I will but it again... I know the Father Christmas bomb has the same scent as snow fairy shower gel, but it's not as strong, so I may try that. =)

Great smell, shame it is only available at Christmas

Lush is a company based in Poole Dorset and have a presence on the high street. I am sure many of us have walked past their shops and been hit with a cacophony of smells; which can take some peoples breath away.

The ethos of this company is natural, organic, non chemical based products and are packed in recycled packaging.

In the run up to the festive season Lush produce a range called Snow Fairy and is a massive hit in my household. Why? The smell and it;s girlie. Oh and lets not forget the little bits of glitter in it - thankfully this is a deterrent for the husband to use it!

When you squeeze some of the gel onto your hand/sponge/wash cloth you are hit with a pleasant smell that could be reminiscent of jelly babies/jelly beans and instantly transports you back to a time when you didn;t have to worry about paying the mortgage, credit card bills or what to have for tea!

So what is it like as a shower gel? It generates a large number of bubbles and leaves a subtle scent on the skin and a small shimmer from the bits of glitter. And a little goes a long way!

Snow Fairy - unfortunately just for Christmas

I first received Snow Fairy by Lush as a miniature in a gift set that my friend bought me as a Christmas present. I hadn't used Lush products before, I always thought the products looked fantastic but the over powering smell of the shop as you walk past had always put me off going inside.

From the first use I was in love. My friend probably chose this gift as it was pink and girly and came boxed with a glitter bar and I love sparkles. It came presented in a very simple cardboard box wrapped with Christmas paper, the padding was popcorn which smelled like the Lush shop. The pink girly gel worked up a wonderfully luxurious lather and smelled divine. It is a sweet smell that reminds me of jelly beans. It was a shame it was such a small bottle because that meant I only used it when I wanted a treat, it really made my shower feel special and the jelly bean smell lingered in the bathroom for sometime after use which was wonderful. As it was part of a gift set the clever people at Lush included a 10% off voucher so this made be brave the shop that I had always avoided. Once inside I soon became accustomed to the strong smell and wondered why I had never ventured in before. I was met by a friendly assistant who probably could tell by my face I hadn't got a clue what I wanted. I asked about the Snow Fairy shower gel and it was then I found out that it was a limited edition and that the snow fairy only makes her appearance at Christmas time. I was very disappointed, she helped me look for alternatives including a strawberry scented product which was horrible but I did walk away with an indulgent treat for myself.

The following Christmas I made a few unsubtle hints and low and behold my husband presented me with a full size bottle of Snow Fairy and it smelled just as good as I remembered. I used this along side other shower gels so I could make it last. We also bought the middle sized bottle for our teenage nieces as Christmas gifts. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I do.

I'm guessing the snow fairy must have returned by now so I shall be dropping some hints as I missed out last year.

        Snow Fairy shower gel

        WHAT IS IT?

This is shower gel that is made by Lush. I think it is available only in the winter for Christmas and that is a pity because it is a very pleasing shower gel to use and I would like it if I could buy it all through the year.

        WHAT I THINK

This is a shower gel that is very feminine. It is pink and comes in an attractive bottle. The fragrance is very beautiful and I do not think it smells like Christmas so I do not understand why Lush do not make it so you can buy this through all of the year.

The smell is like candy and it is very sweet, it is a little bit like vanilla but there are other smells in the shower gel that give it a fragrance that I think is very much like sweeties but it has got a grown up fragrance also.

My skin feels very clean when I have had a shower and used Snow Fairy, it is moisturising also and I am happy about that because my skin goes very dry when the weather is cold and it is good that my shower gel is moisturising even though I will always use a body cream also at this time of year. I make sure I have got a body cream that does not have fragrance when I am using Snow Fairy because I like the smell of it very much and the way it lingers on my skin also so I do not want to cover it up with other fragrances.

        ANYTHING ELSE

I am very happy with this shower gel and will buy it again because it is the most feminine shower gel I have ever used and it makes my skin feel very good after I have finished showering.

        5 Dooyoo Stars.

          Disadvantages

          • "quite pricey"

          • "sparkles don't see to come out of the bottle"
          • "limited edition"

          Showering with the Snow Fairy.

          THE PRODUCT:
Snow Fairy is a sweet, candy scented shower gel with a little added sparkle and it now has skin softening seaweed in it. The shower gel comes in a clear plastic bottle so you can clearly see the pink shower gel through the bottle. You can also see little bits of glitter in the shower gel as well which look as though they are an iridescent colour. On the front of the bottle it clearly states the name of the product and it also states that it’s limited edition as well. You can find a list of ingredients on the side of the label and on the back it tells you how to use the product and it also gives you a top tip as well. There should also be a round sticker saying who made the product and the date that the product needs to be used by.. The lid to the bottle is black and it flips open to reveal a small hole in which the product can be squeezed out of. When flipping the lid back and smelling the product I was greeted by a gorgeous sweet candy scent which I loved. This may smell too sweet for some people but for me this just smelt so gorgeous and delicious.

          PRICE/AVAILABILITY:
The shower gel can be purchased from Lush stores or from their website (www.lush.co.uk). I purchased a 250g bottle which cost me £7.50 but they do this product in other sizes as well.

          USING THE PRODUCT:
I tipped the bottle up slightly and squeezed it a little to dispense some of the shower gel. I didn’t need to squeeze the bottle too hard in order to get a decent amount out. The shower gel has a nice consistency without being too runny but isn’t too thick either. The shower gel itself is quite a bright pink colour and when looking closely at it I couldn’t actually see many sparkle pieces in it. I started to rub the bath lily over my wet skin and the product seemed to lather up a little. The sweet candy scent could also be smelt and this smell filled the bathroom as I covered myself in the lather from the shower gel. The shower gel and the lather felt gentle on my skin. After having a good wash I stood back under the shower and rinsed off. As I did this the sweet scent of the product did fade a little. Although the scent of this product is very sweet it is the type of scent I would have loved to have linger on my skin a little so I was a little disappointed that I could no longer smell the product. When feeling my skin I have to admit that I was very impressed at how soft it felt. There was a noticeable difference in the feel of my skin as it now felt a lot moisturised than it had done before getting in the shower.

            Lush snow fairy shower gel

I absolutely adore lush and have to say this is one of my favourite products. I got it at christmas time as it is a limited edition product and fell in love with it . The bottle is clear so you can see the perfect pink liquid inside. The bottle has the signiture lush logo on the front. As soon as you open the bottle and pour the pink mixture into your hand you can smell the sugary goodness. When you have it to your skin you can see the beautiful shimmer which stays there. The product isn''t glittery it is very subtle. You don''t need a lot so a couple of drops should do your whole body. Therefore a full bottle should last a couple of months. I definitely recommend getting this product as it is so good. So this christmas make sure you stock up on this fab shower gel. This is a must for any lush lover xxx

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A Lush cult classic that I love and gets me into the christmas spirit

            PACKAGING

The packaging for this product is not particularly eye catching or attractive but this is due to it being made from recycled materials (which is always a plus if you ask me) The black label clearly states all ingredients included in the product - none of which have been tested on animals and all Lush products are generally friendly to those with sensitive skin or skin allergies.

            USING THE PRODUCT

The product is a simple shower gel which is best used with a shower puff to work up a bit of a lather. As with most lush items there is hardly any synthetic ingredients which usually cause the 'lather effect' in other shower gel products so if vou like being overly 'soapy and bubbly' whilst having a wash, this product is not for you. I personally loved the colour which was a bright pink with glitter particals in, I liked the effect the glitter had on the colour of the product and that after use I was surprised that I was not covered in glitter and rather the opposite (didn't want to be covered in glitter anyway!)
The smell is either something you will love or hate and I LOVE IT! it's very girly and sweet and should smell like candy floss however I think it is more like a bubblegum smell. The smell does linger after washing which I also like and get lots of people asking what perfume/bodyspray I have on when actually its just my snow fairy shower gel.

            PRICE
As with all Lush products they are not the cheapest option by any means my 100g bottle was £3.95. I am happy to pay that as I am safe in the knowledge it has not been tested on animals, has been packaged from fully recycled materials and know that I am getting a good quality product for my money. I am a Lush fan in general though..so may be a bit biased

            TIP

I would recommend having a sniff in your local LUSH store before purchasing as I have said earlier it is definately a bit of a Marmite product that you will Love or hate, this is a great girly christmas stocking filler!

            Disadvantages

An expensive novelty item that just doesn't deliver the goods.

I'm reviewing my Snow Fairy shower gel from Lush.
My bottle is a small one containing just 100g and on the Lush Site this sells at £3.50 .
I'm listing the content because this is important in items claiming animal friendly etc.

            Quantitative Ingredients
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Propylene Glycol, Synthetic Musk, *Lactic Acid, Titanium Dioxide, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Tin Oxide, Polyester-3, Methyl Ionone, Benzyl Benzoate, Colour 45410, Colour 45380, Methylparaben

            ______________________________________________

I actually DO now remember getting this at Christmas, but not being a Lush customer I wasn't aware of just how expensive their items can be ....so I looked in the box briefly and promptly shoved it away in a wardrobe vaguely disappointed and totally unaware the box contained about £25+ worth of products !
Coming across it recently and being now 'Lush aware' (thanks to reading dooyoo reviews) I decided to test run the items.

This is Snow Fairy shower gel and as stated previously the bottle contains 100g of the product.
The bottle is made from recycled plastic and the top can be dropped off at any Lush shop for reuse according to the label .
The gel itself is pink. Unlike the above stock photo my gel is a rather sludgy pink, rather than the jolly bright pink depicted .
It contains glitter, which to be frank I wasn't aware of when I decided to road test it, even though it does say "handmade with a touch of sparkle" on the bottle. But more on that later.

When you open the bottle for use the first thing that hits you of course is the smell.
The bottle claims the smell as "candy floss and pear drops".
Oh yes, definitely Pear Drops.....you get that catching-of-breath that pear drops give you, but candy floss I'm less sure of. More like bubble gum I would say. The cheap bubble gums you used to buy for one penny that lasted you for hours until it became too solid to chew comfortably any more yet still retained it's distinctive smell of .....cheap bubble gum.

I use a wash cloth/flannel rather than a bath scrunchy and despite loading the cloth liberally with gel I found it lacking in lather when I proceeded to use it. Yes it DID lather up to a degree, but I've had cheaper gels lather up far more with less product used.
So I found myself reloading the wash cloth more than normal.
The initial pear drop smell disappeared rapidly and the bubble gum/candy floss smell was predominant during use, with just a mild hint of the pear drop aroma sneaking in occasionally.
I really wasn't impressed, because this gel is lacking in whatever is used to give these things that smoothness and silkiness I like and expect when using them. It just seems quite flat in my opinion. I remember thinking "well, for sure I won't need to exfoliate after using this ." ........because it was just such a vaguely all-over abrasive experience.
It rinses away easily, and does of course leave you feeling clean, but I felt a bit cheated regarding quality. It honestly felt cheap and at £3.50 for a bottle just over 4" high( 1" of which is the lid) I wasn't expecting a cheap-feeling product.
The smell lingers on the skin for just a short time after use, which suited me fine to be fair with this one .
And my skin felt fine, with no bad reactions whatsoever either during use or afterwards.

The glitter . I'll be perfectly honest here and admit I didn't even realise it had glitter in it until I spotted it lying in the bottom of the bottle just now when I was reading the labels. Then I remembered reviews saying it contained glitter.
I can truthfully say that not one speck of glitter appeared during my using it. Nada, zilch, nought . There is a tiny amount of bright pink sludge with some glitter in it lying in the bottom of the bottle to one side , so I gave it a right good shaking hoping to disperse the glitter and pinkness through the gel. Nope. It shifted only slightly despite vigorous prolonged shaking from me causing funny looks (WHAT on Earth is she doing !) from our cat and dog. Maybe I got a dud bottle . To be fair I personally don't WANT glitter, but I should think that if it is advertised as having glitter then prospective buyers will indeed expect glitter.
It says on the bottle sticker "...made by Kris on 3/10/12 " .I really think Kris took his eye off the ball when mixing this batch.

The tiny amount of glitter I could discern in the sludge is the miniscule iridescent type, exactly as used in their shimmy shimmy bar.
This is a seasonal item and apparently the Snow Fairy "works her magic then vanishes till next Christmas ". Good . Bye bye.
I'll use this up rather than waste it, but I would never buy it, either for myself or as a present for someone .
I should add that this was stored in a clothes wardrobe, out of sunlight and in a room not overly heated nor excessively cold, so I'm not even vaguely tempted to excuse it's faults by saying it was stored in bad conditions.
If I had bought this for myself I'd be deeply disappointed .
The best I can say is that it cleaned my skin and smelled 'cute' so I'll be rating it down badly I'm afraid.

            =PROS=
            It cleans.
It smells 'cute' in a Christmas novelty way.

            =CONS=
            Strange colour.
Colour and glitter both wedged firmly in the bottom of the bottle.
Too much product needed to get a lather going.
            Too expensive for novelty item.

So based on those facts Snow Fairy just scrapes over the finish line with a bare 2 stars from me.
It would be one star, but I concede I may have got a dodgy bottle regarding colour and glitter not mixing despite intensive shaking , so two it is.
Would I recommend. No. Too expensive for a novelty seasonal item that fails a lot of my personal basic requirements in a shower gel.

Thank you for reading and I hope it was helpful~~~Myloh

              Sweet goodness

I am an absolute LUSH addict! And having tried nearly every product in their range, I have to admit Snow Fairy has to be my fave!!!

The first time I tried it, it came packaged in a gift box, therefore was the small trial sized bottle, I only used it once and went straight out to purchase the full size bottle before the Christmas season was over. You see, Snow Fairy is a seasonal product so you can't always purchase, as soon as that Christmas range comes out, I'm first in the queue to get my fix.

The clear bottle perfectly shoes the gorgeous pink liquid inside and with LUSH's trademark black and white label you just know you are getting an amazing product.

On opening the flip top lid and pouring out the pink stuff you are met with the gorgeous sugary, sweet smell of pear drops and upon lathering it up onto your skin you are left with a gorgeous, shimmery sheen to your skin. Not glittery and in your face but a nice subtle glimmer.

You do not need to use an awful lot to reap the rewards, therefore a bottle should last a good couple of months. I do though, stock up when it is available in LUSH stores as I know it's limited stock.

Even after stepping out of the bath or shower and drying off you still smell of a pear drop shop with your glow shimmering away!

A must for every LUSH addict! And if you are not an addict, try this......you soon will be!

Beautiful smell, beautiful softness, perfect lush product

I was first introduced to Lush products in late 2009 when my then-fiance (now husband) revealed his secret love of Lush Snow Fairy. Whilst my love affair with the shop has only grown in the years since then to the point where stepping into my bathroom can be quite literally an intoxicating experience, my love of snow fairy has not wavered and it is still within my top three favourite Lush products.

Lush stores sell ethical and handmade products for body, hair and face. If you have never been in a shop, you must have at least walked past one and had the sweet aroma of the shop hit you as you walk down the street. Inside, the staff are always friendly and informed about their products and you can try these out. A great many days have been spent in these shops, sniffing until it feels as though I might have actually have burnt out my sense of smell. Whilst the products in there are a little pricey to constantly buy, they make great pick me ups or gifts! The problem then being you never want to finish the bottle!

Snowfairy is a wash for both your hair and body. When I use it on my hair, I find that it makes it feel quite dry afterwards, so I no longer bother, but I know other people who have not had this problem so dont let it put you off trying! However, on the body it is a delight, it builds up into an impressive lather and makes the skin feel supple and soft and, in what can only be described as a plus, also smells of bubblegum! Washing with this brings me back to my childhood, a sense of nostalgia that takes me back to a particular time in my life when things were carefree. The smell lasts for a long time, easily 24 hours until the next shower, but can be quite subtle, so you might just catch a whiff every so often (the good kind!) rather than being overpoweringly sweet all of the time.

The packaging is typical of lush, which is to say it's a plain plastic bottle with a black top, with a little label telling you what is in the product and who made it. The baby pink colour of the product is then on view through the bottle. It is quite pricey for shower gel with the prices ranging from £4 for a travel-size bottle to £16 for a large bottle. Although it is very expensive, I always get the large bottle as it lasts me a few months of decadence that way and since it only comes out at Christmas this is a very good thing indeed!

Also, my husband still adores it! When I spoke to a salesperson in the shop she said that a surprising amount of women purchase it for Christmas presents for their men...so perhaps he is not alone!

An *okay* shower gel from Lush

Just before Christmas last year I received a Snow Fairy Lush goodie box from my younger sister as a present. I have been a fan of Lush for many years now so I was delighted with my present and couldn't wait to give the products inside a go. One of the items contained within the gift box was 100ml of the Snow Fairy shower gel. This gel is a limited edition one and as the name suggests, only makes an appearance around Christmas every year.

The snow fairy shower gel is housed in a small transparent plastic bottle, through which the girly pink coloured liquid can be seen. On top of the bottle is a black plastic, flip top lid through which the gel is dispensed. The shower gel can be bought from Lush as a stand alone item (around Christmas time) and is available in 3 sizes, 100g, which retails at around £3.50, 250ml, which costs £6.25 and 500ml which comes in at £10.25. It's not exactly a cheap item so is one that I tend to use sparingly.

Lush describe this shower gel as their 'Winter temptress' which can also be used to wash your hair (not that I've tried - I'm a bit sceptical of products that claim to be able to wash everything!). It's described as an intensly sweet and fruity shower gel, which smells of candy floss and pear drops and transports you back to your childhood. I tend to like shower gels that smell quite citrusy and not too sweet so I wasn't sure I'd like the scent of this one. I also am not too keen on pear drops due to an unfortunate chemistry experiment in my second year at University where we were synthesising acetates, the scent of which was so strong that it lingered in my hair and clothes and was extremely difficult to get rid of. The tube journey on the way home that evening was also a little embarrassing! In fact it was impossible to get the scent out of my clothes and I had to bin some of my clothes! Anyway I digress... back to the product review.

The shower gel has a nice, fairly thick consistency and produces a good amount of lather when rubbed onto wet skin. The scent is immediately apparent. It is intensely sweet and reminds me of being in an old fashioned sweetshop. It's definitely a scent for the girls and I can see it appealing to young girls and teenagers - in fact my teenage self would have loved this too. However over the years my taste in scents has become a bit more discerning and I found this bordering on sickly. I do like some of the other, fruitier smelling products from Lush such as their Comforter bubble bar but this one just didn't really do anything for me. It's not enough to put me off using it entirely but it's one that I tend to use sparingly and usually at weekends as I don't really want to smell like a sweetshop when I am at work! For those of you who think this is a scent you'll enjoy then I'm pleased to report that it lasts for a decent amount of time. My bath smells like a sweet shop for hours afterwards and the scent also lingers on my skin for several hours afterwards.

The shower gel rinses off easily without too much rubbing involved and without leaving a greasy residue. My skin is left feeling clean and soft, but to be honest no more so than a shower gel that costs a third of the price. Now one of the reasons I like Lush products is that I am conscious of all the chemicals in the cosmetics that we use and Lush try their best to minimise these in their products. However in this case scanning through the list of ingredients on the bottle there appears to be rather a lot of synthetic chemicals in this one, which is not really in keeping with their other products. To be honest I am rather surprised and this only just came to my attention whilst writing this review. This shower gel is also supposed to contain some glitter, which seemed to be missing in my bottle. There is small amount that I can see at that has settled at the base of the bottle but no amount of vigorous shaking can seem to dislodge it. For me this is not a bad thing as I think I would find any glitter lingering on my skin quite annoying.

Overall, I think this is an *okay* product from Lush and if I were to receive it as a gift I would be happy to use it but for the cost, the fact that I am not overly keen on the scent, and that it doesn't really do anything extra special I can't say that I would go out of my way to repurchase. Three stars from me.

                Gorgeous girly shower gel

My all time favourite shower gel from Lush has to be Snow Fairy. It appeals to me on so many levels- the gorgeous deep pink colour, the amazing smell and of course the glitter...! What more could a girl ask for?

Lush Snow Fairy is only normally available around christmas time (I have to stock up to survive the year and its always on my christmas list just to be safe) It can be brought in various size bottles- 100ml, 250ml and 500ml and prices vary accordingly. It can be brought either in Lush shops or on their website.

It is described as a hair and body gel- although I have to say I have yet to try this on my hair. It comes in a clear bottle so you can see the gorgoeus pink gel and has a black cap, through which it is easy to dispense the product.

It is a gorgeous deep pink colour and has flecks of glitter in it. It leaves a beautiful sheen on my skin which feel soft and moisturised. A bottle would last really well if only I didn't feel the need to use it for every single shower!

It has a very sweet smell -almost like candy floss and bubblegum, and yet almost fruity too. It is very distinct and smells the same as the Godmother soap. The smell is very strong in the bottle and whilst in use, but it settles to be much more mild on your skin afterwards. I don't use perfume when I use this as the beautiful smell on my skin is enough on its own.

One bottle is never enough- stock up!
