Advantages: Sweet smell that lasts
Disadvantages: Seasonal item
I am a big fan of Lush and their products, but don't buy them very often. More of a treat to myself every so often as I can't really afford to be using them on a daily basis. This little fairy is definitely one of my favourites.
The only real downside to this product is that it is a seasonal shower gel, which means that you can only get hold of it around Christmas time. It comes in 3 sizes, the 100ml, 250ml and 500ml. I currently have a 100ml bottle that I am slowly working my way through. I got my bottle in the Christmas Candy Box gift set. I did buy this for myself just after Christmas when Lush did this brilliant 50% off offer on all things in their Christmas range - the gift set that should have cost £20 cost me £10, and contained 6 fabulous products. The snow fairy shower gel is definitely my favourite out of the lot!
So, the description on the label of the box for the Snow Fairy shower gel is - 'Shower gel for body and hair. Candy floss pink and sweet as sugar with iridescent sparkles and a hint of wicked fruitiness'. Does it live up to that description? Of course it does. I personally havn't used it on my hair, so I can't really comment on how it performs in that respect. As a shower gel, it performs brilliantly. The 'candy floss pink' liquid is quite thick, a bit like a syrup and smells as sweet - but I don't think tasting it would be a good idea! I normally use a body puff in the shower, and a small amount of snow fairy on the body puff results in a sweet smelling lather with quite a few bubbles. You really do only need to use a small amount of this product to get the desired results. I tend to use roughly the size of a 50pence piece, which is plenty. Use as any other shower gel. Lather up and rinse.
The scent definitely reminds you of something sweet, smelling a bit like bubblegum in my opinion. It manages to have that lovely sweetness without being too overly sweet. Once out of the shower the bathroom smelt lovely for a little while afterwards. As for on my skin, I can still smell it hours after taking a shower. Not too powerful, just a nice hint of the sweetness. It leaves my skin feeling nice and soft and smelling sweet. What more could I ask for? To make it last that little bit longer I've not been using it daily, only a couple of times a week or so whilst using Dove products inbetween. The combination of Dove and Lush has helped keep my skin lovely and moisturised the past few months or so.
I would (and have) recommended this product to others. Just need to ensure that you stock up whilst it is available. It does last, so stocking up at Christmas for year round sweetness isn't going to be toooo expensive, and is well worth it.
I guess it would be kinda cool if it left some of the glittery sparkles on your skin after using the product, but then I guess this would also reduce it's use as I don't think many bosses would appreciate a glittery member on their workforce, lol.
Overall, definitely one of my favourite Lush products. :-D
I have used this on my hair too now. What I have been doing though is washing and conditioning my hair as normal, and then just using a small amount of this on my hair from the shoulders down to get the fragrance on my hair seems to work well. Shiny clean and conditioned hair, with a sweet fragrance that lasts for longer than I thought it would. :-) It doesn't seem to affect my hair (positively or negatively), just leaves behind the nice sweet scent that I love.
Summary: Sparkly brilliantness from Lush!
