Lush Snow Fairy
Advantages: Smells gorgeous, nice on my skin
Disadvantages: Price, struggle to squeeze the gel out of the bottle.
I had read lots of good reviews about the 'Snow Fairy' products from Lush that are available around Christmas time but had never actually bought any or tried the Snow Fairy shower gel myself as I really only ever bought bubble bars or bath ballistics from there. I remember picking up and smelling the shower gel in the shop, but putting it back after seeing the prices. The Snow Fairy shower gel is available in three different sizes: 100ml which costs around £3, 250ml priced at around £6 and 500ml priced at around £10. I cannot remember the exact prices to the penny, and as they are not currently available from Lush at this time of year they do not have the prices shown on their website either.
I have the 100ml bottle and received this in the Snow Fairy gift set that I bought myself after Christmas in the Lush sale. The gift set contained the shower gel, angel's delight soap, and a shimmy shimmy massage bar. It was originally priced at £10 but I bought it at half price for £5.
As I bought myself tonnes of Lush products in their sale after Christmas I have only just got round to using the Snow Fairy shower gel, hence why I am only just reviewing the product now!
The smell of this product is very very sweet and what I think to be very girly. It reminds you of all kinds of sweets as well as candy floss. The candy scented products available from Lush (a lot of them being only available at Christmas time) are my favourites and so it's no surprise that I love the smell of the Snow Fairy shower gel.
I do think a little goes a long way with this product, but I have found that when squeezing it out of the bottle a lot more than I wanted comes squirting out, meaning I could go through the whole bottle a lot quicker than necessary. It cannot be helped as the bottle itself seems very strong and I struggle to actually squeeze it to get some of the shower gel out!
As well as the struggle I have to get the product out of the bottle, the only other downside is that the smell does not linger on my skin for as long as I would like it to. I wasn't sure what to expect from the Lush shower gel at first as I only ever really use their bath bombs and bubble bars, and depending which one it is the scents can linger on my skin for quite some time after using them.
It is still a lovely scented shower gel but I am deducting 2 stars for the price and the struggle to get the shower gel out of the bottle, as when it does come out it is always more than I wanted, and due to its price you don't really want to waste any! There are other Snow Fairy products available at Christmas time such as the lip tint which I may try next Christmas, as I do love the scent. However, the only time I will be buying the Snow Fairy shower gel again is if it's in the sale as I do think it is a little overpriced otherwise.
Summary: Another gorgeous smell from Lush, but a shame about the price.
