Lush Space Girl Bath Ballistic
Advantages: Pretty, perfect amount of glitter, reasonable price, changed water colour.
Disadvantages: Scent did not last too long, no bubbles, did not leave skin feeling silky smooth.
=== The product ===
This is a bath ballistic with the scent of blackcurrant sweeties. This ballistic is a round one (like most of them) with a ring around it to make it look like a planet. It is a lilac colour and has lots of red & silver glitter all around the ring giving it a very sweet appearance.
=== The packaging ===
As Lush are an ethical company who want to do their bit, and more, for the environment this can either be purchased loose or packaged in a Lush paper bag which can be reused or recycled. You can also take your bath bomb storage tube to Lush and they will pop this straight in there for you. In general they try and keep packaging to a minimum.
=== How to use this ===
All you need to do is fill up the bath and drop this in. I usually fill my bath about 2/3 of the height and then just drop this in to the very hot water. This will fizz and will move around a little in the water ensuring that the water is turned a slightly murky purple kind of colour.
=== Does this smell nice? ===
Yes! When I smelt this ballistic it definitely had a sweet scent to it. The scents that I could pick up were blackcurrant, violet & lavender. This felt relaxing before I had even entered the bath and as I brushed my teeth I found that the smell just intensified and left me feeling wonderfully relaxed and like my bathroom was fragranced beautifully.
=== Ingredients ===
Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Grapefruit Oil (Citrus paradisi), Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia), Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Colour 17200, Colour 42053, Crimson and Red Golden Glitter (Polyethylene terephthalate), Fizzy Candy, *Limonene, *Linalool, Methyl Ionone
=== Where can I buy this from & for how much? ===
This is available from Lush stores, Lush.co.uk or by ringing 01202 668545 to place your order. Each 125g ballistic costs £1.90 which is quite reasonable for a Lush ballistic.
=== Overall opinion ===
When removing this ballistic from the packet I was pleased with the quality of it straight away. While it had lots of glitter around the ring it did not end up going all over my hands which is always good as I usually want to keep my hands clean in the bath, at first, so I can read a few pages of a book. The water turns from murky to a more pale kind of lilac colour and while it is not particular dark or strong in the water I can smell a very nice scent.
While there is glitter in this ballistic I would not say that it was enough to be all over the place. It was a gentle sprinkling and was enough to shine within the water but not so much that I had to scrub my bathtub for hours after using it, as I did with a bath product from Lush before.
The main difference I found in using this ballistic was that my bath water changed colour and there was a lovely scent in the air. However, this scent did not even last the full duration of my 45 minute bath and left me feeling disappointed. I could not notice any smoothness to the water so the oil that is advised as being in the ingredients is possibly not as strong as in some other ones that I purchase but that is probably due to the lower price of this ballistic.
I do not feel that this is one of the stronger bath ballistic and while it is just £1.90, significantly cheaper than others in the range, it really does not feel like it is worth the money to me. The scent was nice and relaxing but it was not long lasting and as I like a nice hot soak in the bath I was left feeling quite disappointed by this one.
Summary: An average bath ballistic from Lush.
