Lush Space Girl Bath Ballistic
Advantages: smells lovely, moisturising, colourful glittery bath water
I love Lush's bubble bars and their bath items are my favourite treats. The bath bombs are good fun as well and I buy these from time to time as the fancy takes me. A friend of mine treated me to this one when we were out shopping, so that I could have a nice relaxing bath when I got home - very thoughtful of them! The Space Girl Ballistic Bath Bomb is available to buy from the Lush high street stores, via mail order, or online at www.lush.co.uk. It costs £1.95 for one 125g bath ballistic.
Product description: " Do you sometimes feel like you're on a different planet? Don't feel alien - retreat to the bathroom to float in your own personal space until you feel ready for touch down.
Of course, if we were making an interstellar ballistic we had to put space dust in it (otherwise known as popping candy). So make sure you plunge your head underwater if you want to hear the full effects of the crackles and pops."
This bath bomb is quite large and has a slightly different shape to the usual design, being made to look like a UFO or a ringed planet depending on how you look at it! It has a nice purple colour with a sprinkle of red glitter to finish it off. The scent of this bath bomb was lovely and sweet, which is just my sort of thing. I found it very relaxing and the scent spread well when it was used - it also had pretty good staying power as well, because my bathroom was still smelling sweet the following day!
To use, you simply put the ballistic bath bomb into a hot bath and let it dissolve into the water. Space Girl was an extra fizzy bath bomb and dissolved quickly with a powerful action. As well as the usual ingredients, it also includes fizzing candy which helps to add to the fun. As if that wasn't enough there is also more of the red glitter inside the bath bomb and this is realised as it fizzes away, creating a nice sparkly swirling effect. The bath water also turned a lovely shade of lilac and this gave a strong, vibrant effect.
The reason I love using bath bombs and bubble bath is to make my bathing experience a bit more fun and to give my skin a bit of an extra treat. I could feel this having an effect on my skin while I was bathing, as the water was silky smooth and made my skin feel softer, in particular on my legs. After I got out of the bath and dried off my skin felt moisturised and I did not need to follow up with applying body lotion.
Lush have several glitter products and in my experience it seems to be that glittery bubble bars are for the visual effect only, as the glitter will swirl around in the water and not stick to the skin, whereas the glittery bath bombs have the effect of coating you in glitter from head to toe! I think it may be the ingredients or the moisturising oils in the product that causes the glitter to stick, but after bathing with the Space Girl bath bomb, there were only a small number of glitter particles stuck onto my skin, and I didn't end up completely covered like I have when using some other glitter bombs.
The Space Girl bath bomb is a good all-rounder, as it's fun to use, works well to moisturise skin and smells delicious. It's also one of the cheaper Lush bath products, so works out to be a little more affordable. A lovely bath time treat that I would happily use again.
