Advantages: Smells, and looks great. Not drying and lasts ages

Disadvantages: Fruit falls off easily and not much lather

I have been slowly working my way through Lush's soap menu for some time. I have just finished my second block of Sultana of Soap so felt I could now review the product after using two giant chunks!

The Sultana of Soaps is marketed as one of Lush's more high end products, but a 100 g block will still only set you back £3.35 so it's not priced too badly. The soap is pleasant to look at while being a great edition to any soap dish to give your bathroom that extra decadent look! It is cream in colour with dried fruit set on to the top of each block that not only looks fancy but just highlights all the lovely natural ingredients the Sultana of Soap holds inside.

The soap is named after Dire Straits sing "Sultans of Swing" and was inspired by nougat which it does look a little like

This soap is packed full of natural ingredients, which include:-

Dried Apricots
Dried Currants
Dried Cranberries
Bergamot Oil
Coconut Oil
Rapeseed Oil

This combination of sweet and natural ingredients gives the soap a lovely fruity aroma, and I could defiantly pick up on the slight perfume of coconut and rapeseed oil above anything else. The soap gives a slight creamy lather. This lather is quite minimal but is plenty to wash your hands or body easily by rubbing the soap over your skin. After using your skin does have a slight fragrance of the soap left on it but this is faint. However the soap doesn't leave your skin feeling soft and not dry like some other soap and I think this may be because there are no harsh chemicals in the product.

This soap lasts much longer than other Lush soap's I have used. Soaps such as Karma seemed to disappear in front of my eyes as I used them but my two blocks of Sultana have lasts weeks and weeks even with continuous use. The only I found with it is that the dried fruit on the top does drop off bit by bit, which is to be expected but soon clogs up your drain if it disappears down the plug hole!

Overall the soap is one of my favourites from Lush and I will be buying some more very soon. It has a lovely fragrance, exotic appearance and a nice softening effect on your skin. The lather is minimal but still does the job, and the dried fruit does have a habit of blocking up your plug hole but this wouldn't put me off buying some more!

Summary: One of the most long lasting of Lush soaps so good value for money
