Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar
Advantages: long lasting smell
I'm a huge fan of lush and I am enticed by a number of their products due to their unique and beautiful scents in each of them, I also have the comfort in knowing that all are cruelty free and almost all of their products are vegan, including the comforter.
I first viewed this item on-line at lush and wasn't sure about buying it as I wasn't aware of how big they actually were and wanted to be extra sure as I was going to be paying £4.15 for just one. Thankfully I got myself to a lush store and was amazed with what I saw - each piece was about the size of my hand/palm area which made it seem perfectly justifiable to pay that price, in fact i'm surprised it didn't actually cost more!
What proves to be more value for your money is that you don't have to use the whole thing in one go. You can in fact use one comforter three or four times generously providing you slice it up with a knife (it's easy to do so it doesn't even have to be a sharp one!) which will give you an entire bath smelling like a bottle of ribena and turning bright pink! Don't worry there's no staining involved, I can confirm that it won't stain white baths or your skin - so go crazy!
Of course as many bubble baths, salts and comforters go; it's always best to give yourself plenty of time to thoroughly enjoy your comforter. Sit back, relax and enjoy the bubbles, the colours and the gorgeous black currant aroma. The smell is just right as well, it isn't over powering to the point of giving you a headache, nor is it weak where you find yourself wondering where the smell has disappeared to!
According to the ingredients listed on lush's site the natural ingredients are as follows:
Cream of Tartar, Titanium Dioxide, Bergamot Oil, Cassis Absolute, Cypress Oil, *Limonene, *Linalool
and the synthetic ingredients are:
Colour 45410, Colour 17200, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Cocamide DEA.
Lush's products are as natural as possible with minimum amounts of synthetic products but always remain cruelty free. There are no animal extracts used in the comforter and is 100% suitable for both vegans and vegetarians so you have piece of mind knowing you can indulge yourself without any guilt.
Lush also comments on the lack of packaging for the comforter and says:
"By using a solid bubble bath, you are eliminating the need for packaging on your product. Liquid products need preservatives, but solid products like this don't. Better for you and better for the environment; what a comforting thought!"
So again with all of lush's products they aim to use less packaging and when packaging is necessary - it is always recycled and re-used, so you're also helping the environment by purchasing these products in recycled containers.
Of course do remember to use the comforter bubble bar within a couple of weeks as it is made from fresh natural ingredients and does not have the shelf life of products you find from supermarkets that have preservatives in. This won't be a problem though as the comforter smells that good you'll want to use it every night like I have!
I fully advise you get to a lush store or on-line at lush and get a comforter or two, they're great value, smell gorgeous and leaves your skin feeling fab. Go on and Indulge yourself!
Summary: Perfectly great value for the amount you get - smells out of this world and turns your bath pink!
