Advantages: soft moisturised skin, beautiful scent
Disadvantages: a little pricey
I am a huge fan of Lush and have been using many of their products for almost a decade now! However I hadn't tried too many of their bubble bars simply because I tend to have showers rather than baths as I don't have the time for such luxuries! For Eid a couple of months ago I was given some Lush goodies by a family friend and one of the items I received was the Comforter bubble bar.
The first thing that you notice about this bubble bar is that it is huge. It's probably about the size of a standard bar of soap and much bigger than most other bubble bars in the Lush range. It's also a little more expensive coming in at £4.50 for a bar. The bar itself is what I would describe as very girly as it is made up of dark pink and white swirls. It reminds me of the strawberry and vanilla milkshakes that we used to mix when we went to McDonalds as children. In fact it does look good enough to eat! The smell of this is also unmistakeable. It smells very sweet and fruity, like the fizzy blackcurrant drink we used to have as children. Delicious!
I have been using this bubble bar over the last few weeks and have been breaking off small pieces to use in order to make this last longer. I think out of one bar I will be able to get out about 5 uses which is great! I like to use this after my zumba class on a Tuesday evening. I come back feeling really quite sore and my muscles are calling out for a nice long soak in the bath before bed. I run myself a warm bath and crumble a bit of this into the water near the tap so that it starts to dissolve and mix with the power of the water. The bubble bar crumbled easily but I found that rather than dissolving it just settled at the bottom of the tub and needed a bit of effort on my part to get it to dissolve. Not that this is a problem as I would have needed to work the water to generate the bubbles.
Talking of bubbles if you like your bath bubbly you'll love this. The bar doesn't hold back and you get loads and loads of foamy bubbles floating on pretty pink water. It looked really inviting! It also smells divine. Despite using just a small amount the scent of the sweet blackcurrant came through and made my bath smell beautiful.
I had a long soak for about 30 minutes and at the end of this there were still a load of bubbles still floating on the water which I found quite impressive. As I rinsed my skin under the shower I could feel how clean and soft this made my skin feel and I was pleased that the beautiful scent also lingered on my skin. The long bath was just what I needed to sort out my tired muscles but I am sure the scent also played a part in leaving me feeling wonderfully relaxed and ready for a good night's sleep.
I really love this bubble bar from Lush. The scent is amazing and quite relaxing. My skin is also left feeling soft and moisturised. It is an expensive treat but definitely worth having from time to time. Highly recommended!
Summary: A lovely bubble bar from Lush
