      A nice little treat =]

Up The Wooden Hill... is one of the Emotibombs made by Lush.
An Emotibomb is basically a bath bomb for people who only have access to a shower.

It comes in a sort of white cake shape. There is a little stick sort of figure on it.

To use it you put it at the bottom of your shower and then shower as normal - as the hot water hits it it will release the scent and vapours.

The purpose of this one is to help you sleep and the scents in it reflect that - lavender and chamomile are famous for their sleep-inducing qualities and you most definitely do begin to nod off as the mist swirls around you.

I've also used one in a bath before (after running out of products specifically designed for the bath) and can report that it does a good job as a bath bomb too - although the scent is quite faint when used in a full tub, it does soften your skin quite a bit if used that way.

At under £2.00 for one of these, they are cheaper than the Ballistics and they are definitely worth the price as they do accommodate a good nights sleep!

      Just don't buy these

Now this emotibomb is supposed to get you to sleep, god only know how though, perhaps if you hit yourself over the head hard enough with it you will manage to get off, either that or give it to your partner, tell them what it is for and how much you spent and they will probably glad to bash you with it until you lose consciousness!

This one smells of lavender and chamomile, but only if you are really close to it, I spent ages standing in the shower waiting for the relaxing waft to envelop me - no such luck - nothing, nada!

How this could make you feel sleepy is beyond me, you can't even smell it!!! These really are a waste of money, whoever came up with them must be an A grade idiot!

They have probably made Lush a fair bit of money - all their new stuff does - but come on we aren't all that stupid, if you do buy one I will bet my right arm you will not go back for more, you'll be too busy kicking yourself about wasting money!!

        An unexpectedly lovely product.

One of the latest creations from the handmade natural cosmetics company Lush is the Emotibomb, there are 4 different Emotibombs and I have tried them all!

Emotibombs are intended for use in the shower. Place an Emotibomb in the bottom of the shower and turn on the water, as the warm water hits the Emotibomb it will slowly dissolve and emit a gorgeous fragrance which will not only fill the bathroom but the whole house, as you shower you will inhale the beautiful scent that each Emotibomb gives out.

This review is about the Emotibomb called Up The Wooden Hills. Each of the 4 Emotibombs has a different purpose, fragrance and shape, this one is meant to help you sleep, smells of Lavender and Chamomile and is a sort of oval shape with what seems to be a person on it.

As its name suggests, Up The Wooden Hills is the Emotibomb for bedtime and has a very calming and soothing aroma. This Emotibomb has soothing Chamomile and Lavender oils to make you feel calm and relaxed before you go to bed.

I really do not like Lavender, so the only reason I decided to give this a chance was that it was given to me, I definitely would not have gone out and bought it as I find that Lavender gives me a headache. When I got this I gave it a sniff and thought I could smell some Lavender in there so was not sure if I should use it or not, but it smelt quite mild so I gave it a go.

Emotibombs are pretty much like a bath bomb, they are the same consistency they come in a shape which is pretty crumbly, although you are not meant to crumble it, you just put the whole think in the bottom of the shower. As the water splashes onto the Emotibomb the fragrance is released and a soft lavender vapour swirls around you.

I really enjoyed using this and it definitely does what it intends to do, I used this after an exciting day out, when I got in I was full of energy and just knew getting to sleep would be difficult, I planned to read a book in the hope that it would help me nod off (though I usually end up finishing it and being up all night!) then I remembered that I had this in the cupboard so decided to give it a go.

When I got out of the shower I felt refreshed but also sleepy, my skin also felt great and my hair carried the fragrance from the Emotibomb. I jumped into bed and began reading my book but I couldn't keep my eyes open, I just felt so calm and relaxed that I had to turn off my lamp and go to sleep.

This is quite a simplistic shower product, using very few ingredients; the ingredients as given on the Lush website are -
        Sodium Bicarbonate
        Citric Acid
        Perfume
        Lavender Oil (Lavandula augustifolia)
        Lavender Absolute (Lavandula augustifolia)
        Chamomile Blue Oil (Matricaria chamomilla)
        Neroli Oil (Citrus amara)
        Geraniol
        Limonene
        Linalool

An Emotibomb costs £1.95 so is not the cheapest of items, however I think you could get a good 3 showers worth out of 1 Emotibomb as when I used mine I found that it dissolved quite slowly and after I got out of the shower there was plenty left, which my partner then used in his bath - he also slept like a baby that night, but then he always does!

I did like this and despite my hatred of all things Lavender, I think I would buy this again, the product is very good and it made my shower feel a bit less boring, the bathroom still smelt lovely the next day too! I have since bought the other 3 Emotibombs though I have not tried them yet, if they are good as Up The Wooden Hills, I will definitely be happy.

Its full title is Up the Wooden Hill to Bedfordshire, and it's what Mo used to say to her children at bedtime when they were still shorter than she is / (Which is a very long time ago / ) Most of our sleep inducing products are for bathtimes, Waving Not Drowning and Dreamtime for example; they do a marvelous job of giving you a full night's sleep after a nice warm bath / But if you've only got time for a shower (or you've only got a shower), you can use a lavender, camomile and neroli scented Up the Wooden Hill for a quick, powerful dose of sleeping potion /
