A lovely lemon bath melt which leaves the skin softer and smoother

Another addition to my Lush collection was the You've been Mangoed Luxury Bath Melt. What does the product do? The product has been designed to moisturise the skin when bathing using a whole host of natural ingredients. It contains Mango butter, Cocoa butter and Avocado butter which hydrate and nourish the skin leaving it softer and smoother. Almond oil strengthens and moisturisers the skin while Lemon oil tones and brightens the skin. The fragrance has been infused with the zesty aroma of citrus fruits to brighten your mood. How do you use the product? You need to being to run a bath and then drop the product into the water and although it to melt. You can use just half of the product if you want it to last longer and to save some for another time. You can also chop up the product into smaller pieces to speed up the melting process. Then you simply climb in and enjoy. Appearance and Price The product comes shaped as a cuboid which is a pretty pale orange colour and it is surprisingly small. It has the word Mango imprinted into it. The product costs £3 for 30 grams of this product. It can be bought from the local Lush store and also from a range of online websites. My experience I decided to use half of the product due to the price tag. The product does smell fruity but Mango isn't really the over riding aroma despite what the name of the product suggests. It actually smells like lemons but in a very natural way as opposed to reminding you of cleaning products. The product contains lots of butters so it is easy to cut and it will start to slowly melt when you hold it if your hands are warm. When you add the product to the water, it slowly begins to melt into the water. It does take a while and I found myself swirling it around the bath due to my impatience. It doesn't bubble or foam so if you're expecting it to you'll be disappointed. The aroma is stimulating and invigorating, and as long as your bathroom door is shut, it does fill the room nicely. I climbed into the bath before the product had been fully absorbed. I took the small piece that was left and rubbed it on my legs and it was really moisturising. The water didn't feel oily or all that different at all. I enjoyed the experience and the aroma did brighten my mood. I noticed more of the effects after I got out. My skin felt slightly 'filmy' but not greasy or unclean. I rubbed the oils into my skin and they worked their way into my body and when I was dry, it felt much softer and smooth to the touch. My skin looked nicer and there was no dullness or dryness. The formula was gentle and didn't irritate my skin. The softness lasted for the whole day and the aroma lingered lightly on my skin for hours after use.

        A waste of money

I've been trying out some of Lush's bath products recently after many years avoiding them due to a bad experience with one of their other products. I spent over £15 on 4 products, the cheapest of which was this You've Been Mangoed Luxury Bath Melt. It cost £3.10 for one melt which they say is enough for just one bath so although it's cheaper than the other products I bought it's still one expensive bath! As you should be able to see from the picture above it is a yellow bar shape which just really looks like a bar of soap, and. has the word mango imprinted in the top of it. It smells very strongly of mango which, aside from the price, is what drew me to it as mango is one of my favourite scents. As you would expect with Lush being a 'natural' company the scent is nice and natural and not chemical or artificial. To use it they say you should run your bath then drop this in and watch as it releases it's lovely oils. I found this took ages to melt and for ages I didn't feel like it was really doing anything at all even though it had released a very thin white layer onto the top of the water. The scent got stronger and did fill the bathroom very quickly. I find it a very uplifting scent so it's not a particularly relaxing bath with this. It's very fresh and zingy. I was quite disappointed with this really as aside from the lovely scent I really don't feel like it does anything at all. It's supposed to be really skin-softening but I didn't get any kind of moisturising or softening effect from it. I don't understand why everyone raves about this, it's just really disappointing, and the little layer of oils or whatever on the water disappeared very quickly. Won't be buying this again, definitely not worth the money.

My favourite bath melt from Lush!

I like to treat myself to a few different treats from Lush now and again as their products can be quite pricey and so it would cost me a fortune to buy all of my bath time essentials from here on a regular basis. I love their bubble bars and so always purchase these as they can be snapped up and therefore you can get several uses out of them making them better value for money. However, wanting to go for something different I decided to look at their range of 'bath melts' available. I had used a couple of bath melts from Lush before that I have previously received in gift sets, but I was never quite sure of their purpose or how to use them exactly. I love mango and also anything of an orangey or citrus sent and so picked this mango bath melt up to smell when I was in my local Lush store, I immediately loved it. I was wondering whether to purchase it or not as I know from experience that a lot of Lush products may smell nice in the shop, but when it comes round to actually using them they aren't always as strong as I'd like them to be, or the scent doesn't linger on my skin for very long. As one of the shop assistants saw me looking at it she immediately came over to ask if I needed any help, and went on to describe how she loves the bath melts. I'm pretty sure all of the staff here are meant to say this about ALL of their products, as they do every time I go in there. Therefore, I usually don't buy the products based on what they have told me, but rather what I have read in reviews on here instead! However, she did tell me as well as placing this in the bath, you could also use it like a soap and rub this on your body until it has melted by doing so. I had never done this or even thought about doing this with the previous bath melts I had used before and so this alone persuaded me to buy it to try it out. When I ran my bath I placed just over half of the bath melt into the bath and it slowly melted around me. The scent was very strong but I loved it and so was hoping the scent would just stick around! Surely enough it did, I did not want to get out of the bath as it smelt so nice, as well as making my skin feel smoother. I then used the other half and rubbed it on my body as it slowly melted whilst doing so, this made my skin feel quite greasy but it then felt soft and even smoother afterwards and so I could not complain. I could have used more of the melt in the bath and less on my skin as it did take a while to use it all when rubbing it on my skin. Doing this however means you do only get one use out of the bath melt, and at £3.10 each for 30g it isn't exactly cheap. If you don't want to use this on your skin and just the bath alone then you could always chop it in half and get two baths out of this, as using half for my bath was enough for me and I still noticed a difference on my skin, and of course the scent was still very strong. This bath melt made my skin smell lovely for hours after as well as nice and soft. I will definitely be purchasing this again as a treat for myself and would recommend to anyone who loves the smell of mango or citrus scents like me. It would also be great for anyone who suffers from dry skin. It may only be small in size, especially in comparison to some of the other bath melts from Lush, but a little does seem to go a long way.

A very pleasant creamy moisturising uplifting scented bath melt

LUSH -YOU'VE BEEN MANGOED BATH MELT This is yet another wonderful Lush product that I recently enjoyed in two baths as I cut mine in half. This one looks like a small block of orange chocolate, a bit like the old Caramac sort of colour but more orange, maybe mango ice cream coloured is more accurate. The thing that attracted me to this little bar was the smell which is more citrus and lemony rather than mango in my view. A BIT ABOUT THE PRODUCT STORY The name is inspired by the awful you've been tangoed TV adverts, as Lush says on their website, "You can date our products and guess when we invented them by the bits of contemporary culture that inspired them. This one was invented at a time when our telly was full of adverts of men painted orange and doing naughty things. We wanted a similar wake up call, but delivered in a kinder way."  This is far, far nicer than Tango ever was or ever will be but I am probably biased as sweet fizzy drinks are not my thing but luxurious creamy baths are just perfect. WHAT IS A BATH MELT? These are NOT bubble bars and nor are they bath ballistics. They do not usually produce bubbles and they don't fizz so don't expect any bubbling or fizzing. The bath melts are small more solid blocks usually solid because of cocoa butter or other moisturising oils and butters. You pop them into your bath under the running hot tap and they slowly melt into the bath water giving off all the lovely essential oil scents. You end up with a luxurious and creamy scented bath. This bath melt is a tiny 30g in weight and measures only 6 cm x 2 cm ix 3 cm and it is a creamy white colour. This little bar is packed with a rather wonderful blend of essential oils, lemongrass, lemon and lime. The bar is made into a solid bar by the cocoa butter and more moisturising is added by avocado oil and mango oil . It looks pretty much like a small bar of soap but if you have warm hands it does start to melt in your hands if you handle it too much. USING MY DREAMTIME I cut my bar in two as I felt that for the price of £3.10 I needed to get two baths from this otherwise it would be a very expensive bath. I popped one half under the running tap water going into the bath and as the bar melted I was surprised to notice that a few bubbles were emerging as I wasn't expecting that. The bathroom started to smell a bit like a lemonade factory as all the citrus essential oils began to escape into the warm bath water. The overall impression was very pleasant uplifting and happy- making sort of lemon and lime warm scented air filling the room. It was a bit like a warm lemon drink that you make with honey for a soothing drink when you have a sore throat. As I got in to this creamy very pale orange slightly bubbly bath water I was really impressed with the silky feel of the water. It felt a bit like bathing in a lemon smoothie only warm and not thick. Or at least what I imagine that would be like as it was creamy and silky soft and smelled of creamy lemonade and really lovely. There are no solid bits in this bar is pure moisturising oil goodness and essential oil scents I did enjoy lying back in the bath and letting the citrus essential oil aromas waft over me. Lemongrass oil is a great essential oil as it is a natural antiseptic, it is also a deodorant, and helps to tone the skin as well as helping with problem skin. In aromatherapy, lemongrass oil is an antidepressant and mood lifting oil so in the bath to lift your mood. Lemon oil is also antiseptic and fungicidal so you bath in this could be helpful in boosting your immune system and fighting infections so if you feel a cold coming on hop in a bath with this bath melt. It is also an uplifting essential oil. Lime oil is used as it is said to improve circulation and mood in toiletries. So all these uplifting oils combined with creamy moisturising oils and you have a recipe for a really luxurious and uplifting bath so have this one when you are feeling a bit down and it will raise your spirits and feed your skin. AFTER THE BATH I find that I feel very pleasantly content and my skin feels soft and not at all tight. I don't need a lot of moisturiser after a bath with this melt and get dry and straight into bed to keep that happy feeling from being interrupted. THE NEXT DAY When I go to fill the bath the next day I am confronted with a bath that has a coating of cocoa butter around the edges. If I get there first I wash the bath out and it doesn't take much, just some hot water really. If my husband gets there first he doesn't see the bath inside and just fills it up as he normally does. The result is that we have yet another moisturising bath as the oils that were left around the bath are melted once again in this one. Whichever way I do ensure that the bath gets a good clean either after the first bath or the second. SO IN SHORT This is a really luxurious bath treat. It doesn't whizz and bang but it is more grown up and a bath of pure luxury. There are very few nasties in this, there is laureth 4 and linalool but everything else in is natural. These little bars are vegan friendly for those of you who are vegan and of course being Lush they have absolutely not been tested on animals. There is no packing at all so no worries there. I am slightly concerned about the oils going down my plug hole and hope they don't build up and block the pipes further down! RECOMMENDED? Yes I love this little bar. It creates a wonderfully grown up and luxurious creamy moisturising bath. There is no need to use the whole bar unless you are feeling very wealthy and extravagant; half a bar offers the same benefits. I love this one and will be buying this again after I have tried the other melts in the shop first. Thanks for reading. This review may be posted on other sites under my same user name ©Catsholiday

I have been a fan of lush since December that's when i first heard of them and started trying various products of theirs one of them being this, I wasn't sure what to expect from a "bath melt" but It smells truly gorgeous, I decided to get 4 uses out of it so just cut 1/4 off each time I used it and I found that enough for myself, it melts really well and gives the water a nice pale orange colour, seems good for the skin as well but I don't find it produces bubbles but that doesn't both me personally. overall a great product!

A gorgeous smelling bath melt from Lush

If you read my previous Lush review you will be aware that I am somewhat of a novice when it comes to their products, as I simply cannot justify the price to use them on a regular basis. However, occasionally when shopping in Cardiff I find myself drawn to the Lush store, particularly as the rather overpowering fragrance of the various products wafts out into the street well before you reach its' front doors! If you've ever been in one of their stores you will be aware of the helpful and extremely knowledgeable staff who will assist you in finding the best products suited for your particular needs and I have to say that I am always rather impressed that there is never any hard sell tactics and I have never once for pressurised to buy unlike some other stores that I could mention! What I love about Lush stores is that their items are always beautifully presented and everything is so very eye catching where it has been placed in large wicker baskets or strategically placed on various shelves around the store, which obviously makes a wonderful shopping experience. I hate nothing worse than untidy shelves where items have simply been thrown back in the incorrect places. Unfortunately, due to the extremely overpowering combination of fragrances, which emit from hundreds upon hundreds of various bars, balls and tubs, I find I cannot spend very long browsing, so I tend to choose my products as quickly as I possibly can, so I really cannot understand how the shop assistants can bear that strong aroma day in day out. In fact, I asked one of them during my last visit where they advised that they no longer notice any aroma! A few weeks ago I was feeling rather low and very stressed and whilst I always ensure I obtain a little "me time" every Sunday afternoon, I needed something to make me feel that little extra special. As I adore lavender I advised the assistance that I was looking for something containing its' fragrance, as I always find it so relaxing and very calming. Consequently, I was handed Dreamtime, but after a good sniff I handed it back, as the fragrance was rather too subtle. It was then that I noticed in one of the wicker display baskets a mound of small bars, which looked very similar to soap and on closer inspection I saw the word "Mango" etched on the top. I lifted it to my nose and was overwhelmed by the gorgeous and extremely natural fruity mango aroma and my mind was made up, my cash paid and I couldn't wait until my next bath time to experience this little beauty. Consequently, as that experience has now come and gone, this review discusses my thoughts with using You've Been Mangoed, which is marketed as a Luxury Bath Melt. APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT To be honest, the 30g peach coloured bar is nothing really special to look at and I'm not really sure how it caught my eye, particularly as it looks identical to a small chunky bar of soap measuring approximately 5½ cm in length, 3 cm in depth and 2½ cm in height. Its' texture is also similar to a bar of soap although it is perhaps a little more tacky when touched. The purpose behind You've Been Mangoed is that Lush state that many customers arrive at their shop in low spirits and as a result, are looking for something to lift them - spot on there Lush! You've Been Mangoed is marketed as "Citrus Sunshine for Dreary Days" and is full of happy and uplifting ingredients, such as lemongrass, lime oil, avocado butters and mango. WHAT ARE BATH MELTS AND MY EXPERIENCE OF USING YOU'VE BEEN MANGOED Basically bath melts are just as their name suggests and that is they melt in your bath and in doing so they release their stunning fragrances into your water as well as filling your bathroom. As far as I can recall, this was the second bath melt I have used from Lush, so I had a fairly good idea of what to expect. The directions for use are that you firstly run a hot bath and drop the melt into your water. This is something I found strange, particularly as my bath was full of simply just hot water and I am so used to dispensing a few drops of gorgeous bubbles as soon as I turn on the taps. The representative at Lush advised me that I would be able to obtain three uses from one melt, so I dropped the bar into my bath and watched as it sunk to the bottom and bounced back up to the water's surface. I have to say that I was expecting a fizz or a noise of some description, but nothing and I must have looked a right idiot as I bent over towards the water with my head slightly tilted, whilst I attempted to listen to a non-existent noise from a blob floating around in my bath water! After about twenty seconds I lifted the melt out of the water and noticed that the word "Mango" had totally melted away, so clearly the melt was working its' magic, so I placed it back into the hot water to allow it to dissolve to about two thirds of its' original size. I placed my wet fingers to my nose to witness if the water was fragranced and it was, but I was unsure if this was due to the aroma remaining on my fingers after having handled the melt itself. It took a further minute and a half for the melt to dissolve into a third of its' size, so I then scooped the remainder out from the water and replaced it into the yellow paper bag for its' next use and I stepped into the water. Whilst I was aware of the effects of a bath melt I have to say that I was a little disappointed, as although I was aware that melts do not product bubbles I was half expecting to see at least something on the water's surface, but all that was evident were a few areas of white soapy swirls and I would advise that this bath melt does not provide colour to your bath water. The real beauty for me when stepping into my bath is the luscious bubbles that normally envelope my body, so I felt that I was really scrimping by not using any bath products. However, I lay back in the hot water and lifted my wet fingers to my nose and could definitely witness the delightful and extremely refreshing mango fragrance together with its' combination of lemon and lime. Whilst the water did not feel as smooth and soft as I had hoped, I cannot state that I was disappointed and as I lay in the hot water the beautiful fragrances relaxed both my mind and body. What I always love when I manage to find enough time to stay in the bath for more than five minutes is a few candles, so I had turned off the light and strategically placed a couple of tea lights around the bath's edge. I remember the very first time I used candles in my bathroom and it was when I initially set up home with my first husband. At that time, I had gone mad for plants in the bathroom; something which I now hate, particularly as they attract those tiny flies! Anyway, he came marching up the stairs, switched on the light and bellowed "what are you doing in the dark?" Consequently, the relaxation period was over, as by now he had made me feel somewhat stressed! I can vividly recall that he then decided to get into my bath with me and he pushed one of the candles that had been placed on a shelf running parallel with the bath. Unfortunately, he pushed it too far and the leaves on one of my plants started to singe! That was the last time I shared a bath with my first husband! Anyway, back to the bath melt - whilst you would initially think that the refreshing and uplifting fragrances contained within this melt would be more suited for morning use, I have to say that they were simply perfect for relaxation and calming the mind and body. My remaining melt was used for a further two baths during that same week and again they provided me with the same wonderfully relaxing experience. Whilst my skin felt soft after leaving my bath and towel drying, I cannot state that it felt moisturised and for the purpose of my review I did not apply moisturiser for several hours. However, I cannot state that I experienced any dryness or adverse reactions, so although this melt is crammed full of zingy oils, they are clearly very gentle and caring towards our precious skin. When I first witnessed my bath without its' usual mound of fluffy white bubbles I suspected I would have considerable soap scum to clean away following my period of relaxation. However, I can confirm that there was no more than usual and my bath was neither greasy nor slippery. As previously stated, You've Been Mangoed is marketed as "Citrus sunshine for dreary days", which is a very apt title considering we are continuing to experience miserable, wet and windy British weather! I'm sure I suffer with SAD, as just lately I've been feeling so down in the dumps and welcome any products that will assist in lifting my mood and enabling me to feel a little happier. INGREDIENTS If you are familiar with my reviews you will be aware that I don't believe in copying long lists of ingredients unless I feel there is anything specific that could cause an allergic reaction. However, as far as I am concerned the most important ingredients used in this bath melt are the nourishing and softening cocoa butter, avocado butter, mango butter and lemon and lime essential oils. If you require full details of the ingredients these can be found in the latest edition of Lush Times or on the Lush website. However, you may not be aware that the Lush website is still currently offline due to the illegal hacking that took place at the end of 2010/early 2011, so your only reference at the moment would be the Lush Times or by visiting a Lush store. OTHER INFORMATION You may not be aware that Lush do not test any of their beauty products on animals and market their products as "naked", as they use very little packaging. They also use ethical and sustainable ingredients in all of their handmade toiletries, so you have the assurance that you are doing your bit for the environment. Your You've Been Mangoed Luxury Bath Melt will be presented to you in a small yellow bag, which is made from recycled materials and can once again be recycled. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY You can purchase You've Been Mangoed from Lush high street stores or online (when the website is once again up and running) where a 30g bar will cost you £2.85. Unfortunately, I do not feel I can award this bath melt with a full 5 stars, as whilst I will definitely use this product again, it did not provide me with the moisturising properties that I had expected from the avocado and cocoa butter content, which surprised me somewhat. Consequently, it receives 4 stars from me together with my recommendation. I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading. Get mangoed!

You know when you get those days when everything just dosen't seem to go right and you feel worse and worse and worse and you think nothing will help you get better? Well then meet mr mango, a delicious and fruity burst of life. Enough to even make john mcruick smile ( a feat that is thought to be impossible ). Now mr mango is suitable for the morning and not the night unless your going out and need to be pepped up. As this melt is zingy and citrussy, its not really suitable for night time as it makes you feel awake. So wake up in the morning and get it out. Drop it in and go to a tropical paradise, where all your troubles float away. So what do you need to do to get the best out of this zingy suprize? Well here we go: 1. Run your bath and drop the bar in. Now to be more cost effective split it into 2 or 3 pieces, you still get all the goodness and you save money and get more baths. 2. Get into the bath and watch the remaning bits melt into the water. 3. Soak for a good 15 minutes so you get all the uplifting goodness and let all the natural oils and butters sink into your skin. 4. Get out the bath and rub any remainders of the oil in and then give the bath a quick rinse, so the oil doesent stick to the sides. Simple isent it! Now the best thing about this is aswell as being relaxing its also uplifting, smells amazing and moisturises you. Now i hate having to moisturise after a bath so for me this is amazing. Ingredients : Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Laureth 4, Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Lemongrass Oil (Cymbopogon flexuosus), Avocado Butter (Persea gratissima), Mango Butter (Mangifera indica), Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum), Lime Oil (Citrus aurantifolia), *Citral, *Geraniol, *Citronellol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume, Paprika Extract (Capsicum frutescens) As you can see the first ingredient is cocoa butter which is super moisturising and really good for the skin. It is also meant to help with the prevention of stretchmarks as it lubricates the skin. This is a bonus for any woman pregnant or not and even men. There are also other butters such as avocado and mango, so you can see that your in for a moisturising treat. There is also lots of lemon and lime oils which really perk you up. I would not advise this for broken or damaged skin as the oils in it could sting a little bit. It is currently £2.80 ( lush prices rise and fall more than jordans knickers ) which is fairly pricey, but then again you can get a few uses out of it and lush isent known as being very cheap anyway. Pros - Makes me feel happy Gorgeous smell Uplifting Moistursing Can be used more than once Cons - Fairy expensive Could irritate damaged skin All in all i would definetly recommend this, its refreshing, uplifting and makes me feel happy which is great as i have depression. It also moisturises which is perfect for busy bees or when your feeling to tired or lazy to moisturise. Go and get mangoed!! x

Lovely relaxing and refreshing citrus bath

Last time I was in Lush I stocked up on a number of bath products, of which the You've Been Mangoed bath melt was one. I've tried a few of the bath melts in the past and was attracted to this one because of the lovely fresh scent and bright cheerful orange colour. You've Been Mangoed is the same 'brick' shape as Dreamtime, and has the word MANGO imprinted on top. It contains mango butter, which according to Lush has moisturising, lubricating and damage-repairing properties. Lemongrass oil, which is antiseptic, deodorant and toning, is also apparently good for problem skin. The melt also contains cocoa butter, almond oil, avocado butter and lemon and lime oils. It smells delicious and citrusy - not entirely like mango, but very refreshing and lovely. I put this in my cupboard for a couple of weeks after buying it, inside the yellow wrapper, and when I went to take it out I noticed that it had melted slightly and the oils had leaked all over the yellow bag. When I put it into the bath, I also noticed that it was much softer than the other bath melts. If I bought it again, I would definitely use it sooner after buying it! The water changed colour when using the melt, but it was to a slightly greeny colour rather than orange or yellow - this was a bit of a relief as sometimes the citrus bath products can turn the water the colour of wee! There was also a layer of foam on the top of the bath. I really enjoyed my bath and felt relaxed and refreshed. I could still smell the lovely citrus scent while in the bath, although it wasn't so evident on my skin afterwards. My skin felt softer after using the melt and I didn't need to use moisturiser. I really like this bath melt and I would certainly consider buying it again. It is lovely for the summer and could be used before a night out to perk you up, or on an evening to relax you without making you want to go to sleep! It's slightly expensive at £2.80, but would be nice for a treat. Ideal for fans of citrus scents!

                a decent melt

I shop in Lush for a lot of my beauty and bath products and stock up regularly on various bath treats. I find it great that you can pick up several items and stilll have change from a ten pound note. At under the three pound mark, this is a luxury item, designed for moments of sheer indulgence. We all like to indulge in the bath, so why not! The little bar of Mango melt is designed to give your bathtime that something special. Enriched with a heap of essential oils and ingredients to soften and nourish skin, the idea is that you plonk it into a warm bath and let it gradually melt away leaving you sitting in a stimulating bath of fruity flavour. The bar melted within a few minutes when I used it and the first thing that struck me was the wonderful commanding scent. An infusion of summery mangos, combined with succulent lemons and citrus gave the bathroom a fruity punch. It reminded me of having fruit punch at a barbecue. The smell really helps to lift the senses and leave the nose feeling like it has had a good clean ouut. I found it helped with my congestion actually, as it cleared the passages nicely. In terms of what this did for my skin, my skin smelt really fresh and sensual afterwards and the moisture levels all over had improved. The bar is enriched with cocoa and avacado, both are renowned for their ability to soften skin. On the downside, the experience was over all too quickly and once the bat had melted, the bathwater goes cold and that's it! It would thereofre not be something you could use every day. Maybe once a week or for special occasions though. Lush stock these bars for about three pounds for 30g, putting it in line price wise with most of the other melts. Worth getting for this summer season.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

A real treat that'll make your skin feel soft and your mind feel free.

During a recent visit to the store LUSH I stocked up on a few girly and indulgent bath products. Everything is laid out without packaging in the store so when I'm in there I like to pick everything up and smell it. What attracted me to this product, the vegan friendly 'You've Been Mangoed' Bath Melt, was firsty how sharp and tangy it smelled but also it's texture. When I held it in my warm fingertips it instantly began to melt onto my skin into a silky substancce and the fragrance was released even more. To be honest I had no idea what the product was or how to use it and had to check the store's website when I got home. In store it is simply decribed as a 'butter melt'. The product is a tiny rectangular bar which measures 2 inches long by 1 inch across. It is bright peachy-orange in colour and stamped with the word 'MANGO'. It basically appears to be a bar of soap made for a child! The texture of the bar when dry is curious. As mentioned it starts to melt in your hands if your skin is warm. It's a waxy, oily blend. It's almost like a stick of unstable old dynamite - you'd think the bar was sweating essence of citrus fruit. It's quite slippery and so oily that it feels like you could use it as a massage aid! It is literally seeping with essential oils. I was uncertain how to use this at first. Should I rub it on my skin like a soap bar or just swirl it around in my hot bath water? An instructional video on the brand's website instructs the latter. So I added the bar to my warm bathwater and just let it wash around. It kept getting under my legs so I was pushing it around a bit to help it melt. It didn't melt as quickly as I had assumed it would. This caused my arms to end up looking like those of a bright orange Oompa-Loompa! Wherever the bar touches you there is left an intense amount of the mango fragrance. The bar does not cause the water to change colour but it does create a whirlpool style creaming blend of oil in the water. The bathwater and steam seems to come alive with this very strong and tropical fragrance of fruit. The ingredients of this bar include: Lemongrass Oil, Lemon Oil and Lime Oil and these are the prevalent aromas. You can sense that these fragrances are soaking into your skin and infact the whole bathroom ends up smelling beautiful. The mist of fragrance is so relaxing and makes me feel feminine, fresh and alive. I know a lot of people associate lemon fragrances with household cleaners but this is nothing like that, it's more natural and more sugary. The texture of the water when using this bar turns soft, silky and makes you want to run the water over your body as the smooth sensation is so pleasant. It feels like your skin is drinking in the oils from the water. I normally do not spend long in the bath (under ten minutes) so consequently my bar did not fully melt the first time I used it. I therefore took it out of the water and saved it on my soap rack for the next time.It does not keep melting away. If you want to use it all in one go I'd reccommend a hot bath and a long dip, say twenty minutes or so. After using this bar my skin feels softer, smoother, more moisturised and healthy. My legs especially benefit as they are often a bit roughed up with having been shaved. The oils really help to settle the skin down. My skin also feels more toned and looks a lot better, healthier and more radiant. There are specific ingredients in the bar such as almond oil, cocoa butter, mango butter and avacado butter all of which act as moisturising agents. These same ingredients are also packed with skin nourishing vitamins and I can testify that they really do benefit the skin. The fragrance of the bar lingers on the skin for hours afterwards and makes me feel clean and as though I've just newly applied a eau de parfum. The You've Been Mangoed bar is priced at £2.80 which I initially thought was quite a lot for such a teeny product. However, given it's properties and it's effect on my mind and body it's a price I'm more than happy to have paid. I will certainly be buying this product again and would reccommend this to all the ladies! To find out more about LUSH see their website: http://www.lush.co.uk

                    Disadvantages

                    Nice, citrusy bath melt

I know this sounds quite odd, but I normally shy away from Mango scented products, but when browsing through the website, I couldn't help but place an order and this was one of them. Lush made it sound so delicious that I felt like it was my duty to give it a go! I've never really come across Mango scented things before and I'm the kind of person that stays with scents I know, so this was an unusual order for me. But, the product arrived and just like every other product from Lush, I was eager to try it. ~What do Lush say about their product?~ Lush are not only a high-street retailer, but also an online retailer that are well known for their handmade cosmetics, using natural ingredients, and are also known for their lack of packaging to help the environment. Unfortunately, the nearest Lush shop to me is about an hour and a half away, so I have to look online instead. Whilst browing I came across You've been Mangoed. This is what Lush say about their product: "Cheery, fruity mango butter melt. You've Been Mangoed is bright and breezy, with nutritious mango and avocado butters to make your skin feel as if it's just had a really healthy breakfast and is all set up for the day. Its fruity scent comes from skin toning lemon and lime essential oils with a drop or two of invigorating lemongrass to get things going. Everyone should know the joys of being well and truly Mangoed." Now you can see why I decided to try a Mango product. After placing the order, I could hardly wait for the postman to get here with my order, and nearly jumped him when I saw he had a parcel! ~My bath~ With my partner on the Xbox 360 and my son in bed, I made myself a cup of tea and went off to the bathroom to try something from my Lush order, and this one stood out. I unwrapped the bar from its paper wrapping, got a knife and cut it in half. When the bath was about half full, I held the Mango bar under the hot water until it melted which didn't take too long. I got into the bath and settled myself in for a relaxing hour. After I had been in the bath for about 5 minutes, my skin felt quite oily. When I got out of the bath, my skin felt really soft and well moisturised, and this lasted for the whole of the next day which was lovely. Unfortunately though, when I let all the water out of the bath, there was a ring of orange going all the way around. I was a bit unhapy at the thought of having to clean the bath after I was trying to have some 'me' time and to relax, but after getting a cloth, I only had to have a quick whip around and it was done so it didn't annoy me too much after all! ~Scent~ Like all products from Lush, they are really strong smelling before you put them into the bath and You've been Mangoed is no different. Normally though, once the product is in the bath, the smell is not too overpowering, but this is where this item is different to others. The aroma was still overpowering, and stayed like that for the whole time I was in the bath. It smelled really strongly of Mango's, but I couldn't smell any lemons or anything citrus-y for that matter. I will use this product again, but next time I will cut the bar into 3, so that hopefully the mango smell will not be too strong. I would advise that if you haven't used this before, then you should also cut it into 3. ~Price~ I split my mango bar into two and when it costs £2.80 for a 30gram bar then its not that expensive. However, the next time I use this product, I think I will split it in 3 instead so that the smell is not too overpowering.

Lush You've Been Mangoed Bath Melt

I really do think Im becoming addicted to Lush, everytime I get money this is now the first shop I go into. I think I might have a problem LOL. Anyway last time I went in I was intrigued by the massive display of these "bath melts" as I had never tried one before and they just smelt so damn great. "Youve Been Mangoed" was the one that attracted me the most - simply because of its name, great isnt it? That and the fact that it smelt gorgeous so nice in fact that I didnt mind paying a little bit extra for this bar. I had read that these "bath melts" are a more luxurious product from Lush and even though I have been so impressed by the ballistics and the bubble bars I was really hoping this would be nice. Lets just say tht if all bath melts are like this one then I wont be going back to buy more. This melt is in fact a little, orange coloured block that looks a lot like soap to me and it has the same sort of shiny yet solid texture and appearance. The word MANGO is embossed on the top and I recommend only one bath per bar if you do decide to buy one as its slightly smaller than other Lush bath products. I strongly suggest you keep this in a cool place because it started to melt in my hand so if its left in the sun you may be left with a big orange blob on your bathroom side. The smell of this really is gorgeous in fact its the best thing about the product really fruity and sweet the perfect summery scent. It certainly woke me up lying in the bath smelling this so if I was going on the scent alone then I would urge you to go out and buy this. All you do in run yourself a nice hot bath and pop this in when you have filled the bath with water. This is supposed to turn the bath water really soft which in turn will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. In reality this falls apart and leaves a waxy sort of substance on the top of the water. The only way I can describe that is it looks like earwax floating on the water - overall not appealing. It didnt do anything for my skin either, I didnt have soft and silky smooth legs like I was hoping the bath water smells lovely but apart from that....nothing. Overall it was pretty disappointing for the first melt I tried, as I said if this is how all the melts are then I wont be rushing back. A lovely smelling bath but not much else. I cant recommend it on the smell alone so I say dont waste your money. This product is available for around £3 from Lush stores and online on their website. Thanks For Reading x0 Salz 0x

                        Great for a treat.

You've Been Mangoed is a luxury bath melt made by Lush. Their range of Luxury Bath Melts, as the name suggests, are some of the more luxurious products they sell - they cost more, last for less time or contain even more gorgeous ingredients. This Melt is shaped like a bar of soap. It's an orangey colour (lighter than in the picture) and has the word 'Mango' written on the top. It has a very sensual, uplifting, fruity fragrance. Perfect for summer evenings, in my opinion. When you pick it up it will start to melt in your hand if your skin is warm! So, you've been warned! Keep it cool if you can, otherwise a lot of it will be melted away before you even get NEAR the bath! To use it, you just pop it into the bath after you've run the water then sit back and relax as it bobs around softening the water, turning it silky smooth and in turn moisturising your skin. You'll leave the bath smelling lovely and feeling really cheerful.

                        Disadvantages

Gorgeous smell, perfect oiliness & lasts 3 baths so great value - will DEFINITELY buy again!

I'd been tempted to try a bath melt for years because some of them had delicious smells but resisted because I couldn't jusfify spending quite a large amount of money on something that would only give me one bath (the same goes for ballistics). But finally the citrussy smell of You've Been Mangoed got too tempting for me, so I decided to treat myself ... just this once ... to find out what it was like. And I'm glad I did! The small 30g bar cost £2.80. I originally thought this was very expensive for what you get, but after reading other reviews on here, I saw quite a lot of comments on how this bar is too oily or too strong smelling, and so I decided to cut it into three pieces and just use one of those pieces in my bath. This turned out to be a brilliant idea. The water was just oily enough to be enjoyable without feeling like I was bathing in an oil slick, and the smell was very detectable. My husband walked into the bathroom, unaware of what I had in my bath, and commented on the lovely smell which in his opinion smelt of sherbet. I really enjoyed using this bath melt and because I cut it into three pieces I now have enough left for two more baths - so that's less than £1 per bath! My initial reservations about bath melts are over and I will definitely be buying this bath melt again ... and again ... and again ...

Leaves you feeling fruity and fresh

This is one of the best Lush products ever! You've been mangoed it a bath belt that smells so fruity of full of magoes you may be tempted to eat it but don't! Drop it under hot running away and it slowly dissolves filling your bath with moisturising cocoa and mango butter, refreshing lemongrass, lime and lemon oil. The essential oils in the bar make your skin feel instantly silky, soft and smooth! Your bathroom will be filled with a gorgeous fruity fresh smell that also lingers on your skin even after you've gotten out the bath. Although a 30g bar costs £2.80 it is definetly worth it as a treat, pick me up or regular purchase. It's environmentally friendly as it contains no packaging, it's suitable for vegetarians and is not tested on animals. Ingredients Cocoa Butter is one of natures best moisturisers, Almod Oil helps to soften the skin and smells nice too, Lemongrass Oil, Avocado Butter, Mango Butter Lemon Oil and Lime Oil give this product it's gorgeous smell but also help to uplift your spirits and make you feel happy and wide awake alert! This is a naked product which means it comes with no packaging. You can bring your own packaging to carry it away with you or take one of Lush's free recycled and recyclable paper bags, which are great for the composter too. This is by far my favourite bath product as it fills my bathroom with a gorgeous scent and makes me feel happy, refreshed and smelling good enough to eat!
