"To the lovely people at LUSH... Please please bring back yummy yummy yummy shower gel, we miss it soooo much!"
These are the words taken straight off the FaceBook page for Lush Yummy Yummy Yummy Shower Gel. They HAVE to be joking. I would just like to assure the manufacturers that we do not miss this product at all. Please do NOT consider bringing this product back into the market.....EVER. In fact - it is a huge relief that I have come to the end of the bottle that has been hanging around my bathroom for about 18 months now. It is one of Lush's more disappointing products - a totally artificial scent (been told it's strawberry) and a texture that reminds me more of dishwashing liquid than shower gel. In desperation to actually like this product (I LOVE other Lush products) I thought I'd use it as a shampoo. In all honesty, my hair didn't feel too bad - and it didn't fall out or turn green or anything - but the nasty after-smell of fake strawberry every time I turned my head was too much to bear. I had to go through the day as stiff necked as if I had a neck brace on.
So in the end - I did what I should have done in the first place.....used it on the dogs. I just hope they don't lose their hair or go green - and I'm not even sure that they smell any better..!!
I have a bit of an obsession with Lush and my bathroom shelf is stocked with many bottles of Lush shower gel, cleansers, shampoo and conditioner. Yummy Yummy Yummy is a strawberry shower gel and there are 3 different sizes available, allowing you to choose from 100ml, 250ml, or 500ml bottles. I decided to get a small 100ml size bottle to test it out, as it can be expensive to buy the larger sizes. This has recently been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase through the website or mail order, although if you are lucky your local store may have a couple of leftover bottles lurking behind the counter.
Lush say: "Strawberry and almond cream for the skin. Lush found out that the cost of a standard shower gel is 20% ingredients and 80% packaging. With Lush, it's the other way around; plain packaging containing beautiful ingredients. This inspired Helen to create Yummy Yummy Yummy with truly wonderful natural ingredients: fresh strawberries, soothing honey and moisturizing almond oil, with a drop of rejuvenating olibanum. It's not common shower gel, it's the yummiest shower Cream Wash ever for the softest skin."
The packaging is a standard clear bottle with a plastic flip top lid and the distinctive black and white label. You can easily see how much product is left in the bottle as it is a bright pink colour and shows through clearly. This is handy for knowing how much you have left.
This shower gel sounded wonderful from its description, but after using it I have a huge dislike for Yummy Yummy Yummy. In my immature way I started calling it Yukky Yukky Yukky instead, as it's so unpleasant to use! I finished off my little bottle as I hate for things to go to waste, but I would never want to buy it again and I'm glad it's been discontinued.
First off the colour looks quite nice and girly so no problems there. However, over time the ingredients in the shower gel start to separate and you will get a thick swamp sludge layer at the bottom, with and oily layer floating on top. This looks really manky and you have to give it a good firm shake for about 30-60 seconds to ensure that the product mixes back together properly. Over time this has made the consistency of the gel change from a smooth creamy lotion to a lumpy, runny mess.
The smell of this shower gel is very obviously strawberry, but it has a sharp unnatural scent that makes my nose tingle in a most unpleasant manner! It seems really fake and chemical which I was not expecting as I know Lush try and exclude as many unnatural ingredients as possible and always try to use fresh, natural raw materials. The scent is very overbearing and stays on the skin for several hours after washing with this shower gel, which I suppose would be very nice if you like it, but I don't!
I found it really hard to get a decent lather with the gel, and ended up having to use at least twice the amount of gel that I would normally use, which seemed very wasteful. It did seem to get my skin nice and clean but I did not notice any other benefits afterwards.
I'm really not keen on this shower gel at all, it was a let down in all areas. I would not recommend it, and I'm glad I only bought the small bottle. I rejoiced upon finishing it up and will get my strawberry scents from other products instead! Thankfully there are some lovely strawberry scented items that Lush make, and I'm really not sure why this one was so awful.
If you like strawberry scents, you may like these other Lush products:

I recieved a bottle of this via a Lush gift set I was given, and have found it to be quite an interesting shower gel. It's actually about the be discontinued, so if you would like to get your hands on a bottle, I'd do so very quickly, or it might not be available. It comes in 100ml (£3.10), 250ml (£6.25), and 500ml (£10).
I'll refer to the shower gel as YYY in this review, and it's much easier to type! YYY is a strawberry shower gel, made with real strawberry infusion. Due to this it has quite a strange consistency, and it's quite 'bitty' and sludgy sometimes. I have used more than one bottle of this now and found that it seperates after a while, nothing a quick shake can't sort out - but it can look strange.
The shower gel actually smells lovely, it's fruity, but doesn't have that fake-strawberry smell which many shower gels do. A little makes a good lather, and it leaves a very subtle scent on you which fades quite quickly.
With regards to how it makes your skin feel, I've found my skin to feel quite soft after use and have never had any problems with it being dry after using YYY. It contains almond oil and honey which both sooth and moisturise the skin.
The ingredients for this shower gel are:
Fresh Strawberries Infusion (Fragaria vesca), Sodium Alkyl Sulfate, Honey Water (Aqua), Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Perfume, Glyceryl Stearate, Cocamide MEA, Propylene Glycol, Glycol Cetearate, Fine Sea Salt, Lauryl Betaine, Olibanum Oil (Boswellia carterii), Bergamot Oil (Citrus aurantium bergamia), Geranium Oil (Pelargonium graveolens), Passion Flower Seed Oil (Passiflora edulis), Water (Aqua), Balsamic Vinegar, *Limonene, *Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Colour 14700, Methylparaben, Propylparaben (*Occurs naturally in essential oils)
I liked this shower gel, but I wouldn't say it's something to go crazy for. I may buy a couple of bottles before it's discontinued, as I do quite like it, but undertand it might be more Yucky Yucky Yucky than Yummy Yummy Yummy for those who don't like fruity shower gels.
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy Shower Gel From Lush......
I was really persuaded into buying this shower gel on my last visit to a Lush store by one of the staff there. Okay so I was easily persuaded but persuaded nonetheless. The main reason she was able to twist my arm was the fact that this was one item that I still had not tried from Lush and she said that it was "Soon To Be Discontinued"!. So I thought I simply must try it out.
I paid £3.10 pence for the smallest bottle of the shower gel which holds 100 grams but there were slightly bigger bottles for a higher price if you so wish. As it was the first time I had tried it, I thought I better stick to a small one just encase I didn't like it.
Of course as soon as I got home with all my Lush products, I couldn't wait to lock myself in the bathroom and have somewhat of a Lushfest! The bathroom soon steamed up with the shower pelting on hot and I the aromas coming from there literally made it seem like there was a Lush store in my flat!
The Yummy, Yummy, Yummy Shower gel comes in a little clear plastic bottle which looks similar to all the other Lush shower gels in the fact that the label is black as is the flip top lid. It is a nice dumpy bottle that sits well on the side of the bath and the pour hole is of a good size to allow enough of the product to be squeezed out in any one time.
The shower gel is a dusky pink colour and very thick and luxurious looking in consistency. The smell which comes from the bottle just on flipping the lid is rather strong but it is such a wonderfully appealing aroma I just want to eat it! The smell is very strawberry based with a light almond accompaniment and these are two of my favourite flavours so the smell of these really does appeal to me.
The directions for the shower gel are as any other shower gel you buy would be. I tend to use one of those puff's in the shower and these seem to make far more bubbles than when using an ordinary flannel or sponge. The Yummy, Yummy, Yummy shower gel really does produce a good amount of bubbles and makes you feel as though you are getting a good clean coverage of your body. There are not tons of bubbles like some of the Imperial Leather Shower Gels that I have used but still plenty to enjoy and lather oneself in!
The smell is more noticeable when the shower gel is being used and the fragrance does linger on the skin even after I have washed away all the bubbles and dried myself off after the shower. Because I like this fragrance I am not too bothered that the smell hangs around but I think some people might find the smell a little sickly after a while.
The shower gel didn't really make my skin feel overly moisturised at all and I still needed to cover myself in cram on leaving the shower. However I did feel incredibly clean and fresh and couldn't wait for my next shower!
All in all, I have to say that it is a real shame that this item is being discontinued as for me it is a real winner. The smell is something that I find extremely nice and the general use of the product was really good and I can find no fault with it in the slightest.
I think a really good score of 5 out of 5 stars and a high recommendation. Get it while you can!
Check out the Lush website at: www.lush.co.uk
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.
Many thanks for a taking the time to read.
I bought this when I went into Lush as I thought the title made it sound urm yummy haha and its a nice pink colour. This is the first shower cream from Lush i have bought and not really impressed with it.
All lushs products are freshly hand made which justifys the price. Also you know nothing you buy from there is tested on animals. They also are very big on recyling and the enviroment so anything you buy will have minimum packaging.
I have got the 100g bottle
The bottle says its a shower cream for soft skin, all you have to do is lather it up over your body and over your hair if your in a rush. But to be honest it doesnt really lather just kind of runs as its so watery. You had to use quite alot of it because of how watery it is which feels like a waste of money seeing as lush products are hardly cheap. It doesnt really leave you feeling clean.
The smell is really sickly some might like it but to me it was too much.I cant really describe it smells like sugary things and candyfloss. The smell stayed for quite a while after which is great if you like it not so much for me though.
It did make my skin nice and soft but i really think theres better out there.I stopped using it as the smell put me off so much.I would say just go into the shop and smell it for yourself as everyone likes different things or buy a small 100g bottle to try out for a while. Its soon to be discontinued so better go sooner than later if your interested!
£3.10 for 100g bottle
£6.25 for 250g bottle
£10.00 for 500g bottle
Im going to give it only 2 stars mainly because the smell put me off too much however that might just be a personal thing ,others may like it as there seems to be quite alot of good reviews on it.So your best just going in and having a good whiff if you want it. Also it wasnt a good consistancy too runny.
However it does make your skin soft and the products are very green and you can be certain there against animal testing.
For more infomation just go to there website www.lush.co.uk and you can have a look at all there products and why their different from other body stores.
I found a bottle of Yummy Yummy Yummy shower cream wash in a gift set and, as with all Lush products, couldn't wait to hop in the shower and try it out.
It came in a 100ml clear plastic bottle with a black label and fliptop lid. This allowed me to dispense controlled amounts of it although for some reason I had to squeeze the bottle a bit harder than I normally would.
The shower gel itself was a lovely pale pink colour and was quite thick and creamy in consistency, to begin with at least. However, I soon found that the cream began to separate and a brown/pink oiley layer formed on top.Although this could be solved by shaking the bottle, it made the product a bit less appealing to me. It also became increasingly runny, long before the use by date.
The main ingredients include fresh strawberries infusion, honey, almond oil and bergomot, all of which combine to make a gorgeous scent which is more sophisticated than strawberry alone.
The cream felt luxurious when I applied it and the scent lingered on my skin for several hours after my shower (and even longer in my bathroom!). I did find that it didn't lather very well though so I had to use quite a lot of it, more than I would normally with other Lush shower gels. After my shower my skin felt beautifully moisturised and I didn't have to use body lotion afterwards.
Yummy Yummy Yummy comes in three diffrent sized bottles, 100ml (£3.10), 250ml (£6.25) and 500ml (£10.00) which I feel isn't bad value for money due to the quality of ingredients Lush use. Although I love the smell of this product and its moisturising qualities, the change in consistency was a bit of a disappointment which is why I have only given the product three stars.
Unfortunately, because of the issues with separation of the cream, this product is becoming discontinued so there will now only be limited amounts left for sale.
As I am a busy mother of four my lovely sister know that's I am a little bit limited on time and whenever we meet up she has something that is going to lift my day whether it's a nice new oil, top or just some chocolates to cheer me up. She thought that this shower gel would be perfect for me because I don't always have a lot of time to myself and sometimes my five minutes in the shower is the only chance I have to have a bit of peace and quiet before my busy day starts.
This lush 'yummy yummy yummy' shower gel is provided in a clear plastic shower gel and is available in three different sizes with a flip top lid on the 100ml that I have to provide easy use in the shower. I do find that these lids can be a little bit hard at times to get open if I am in a bit of a hurry and I normally need to use the edge of one of fingernails to stick underneath it to get it opened.
This shower gel is a lovely pink colour with the scent of strawberries, almond oil and honey so it's perfecting for giving you silky soft, smooth skin all year round. I find that this smell is deliciously uplifting when I am in the shower and it creates a lovely scent when I use a little bit on my bath flower to create lots of delicious bubbles. The bubbles smooth all over my body and the scent is one that stays with me for the whole day. The bubbles are very easy to clean my whole body with and I feel lovely and clean afterwards and the scent really does stay on me for the whole day.
This shower gel can be used as a shampoo as well although I tend to find that the Lush shower gels are a little bit drying on my hair so I haven't actually tried to use this one on my hair and I don't intend to. The shower gel itself does just what you needs it to do in giving me wonderfully smooth skin and leaving me feeling clean and fresh every time I use it.
The smell of this shower gel is lovely and it's one of my favourites in the range even if it is a little bit more expensive than some of the other ones. The shower gel bottles cost £3.10 for 100ml, £6.25 for 250ml and £10.00 per 500g. It's far more reasonable to buy one of the large bottles and I estimate that one of these would last me a good six months with regular usage, that's providing I don't let my children find this lying around and use it as a toy in the bath.
I love Lush products and I really like trying out new products that I haven't tried before. I needed some shower gel so decided to pick one up while I was in Lush. How could I resist a shower gel called Yummy Yummy Yummy? I paid £3.10 for a 100g bottle (bigger bottles are available 250g costs £6.25 and 500g costs £10).
The label says that yummy yummy yummy is a shower cream wash rather than a gel and will leave you with yummy soft skin. It states that the product is suitable for body and hair if you want to save time. It contains fresh strawberries, honey to soothe, almond oil to moisturise and olibanum to rejuvenate. It is said to smell like strawberry and almonds.
The shower cream is pink in colour and I had to shake mine before each use as it seemed to develop a darker pink oil that floated on the top. Giving it a shake is no hardship though when you know you are putting natural products on your skin. I personally found the smell a bit odd. I could smell the undertone of strawberries but it had another smell mixed in with it that I just couldn't fathom out. It certainly didn't smell like almond to me. It smelt sort of like a cake made with fake strawberry flavouring.
To start with I found the shower cream quite had to get out of the bottle and I had to squeeze it really hard. My first impression of the cream wash was that it looking more like a body lotion than a wash. Normally with Lush shower gels, I pour a 5-10p sized amount onto a body puff and that is enough to clean all of me. Not with this shower cream. I ended using at least 3 times as much of this product as once I had put some on the body puff and cleaned my top half, there were no bubbles or shower cream left on the puff for the rest of me.
Once I had got to about half way through the bottle, the shower cream seemed to become really runny and just flew out of the bottle. Whether this was due to the heat as it was during the really sunny patch we have just had, I don't know. I still had to use loads to get washed all over. I did find that yummy yummy yummy didn't leave me feeling overly clean after I had used it like Lush's other products have either.
The smell stayed on my skin for a couple of hours after I had used the shower cream and it stayed in my bathroom all day. I didn't notice much of a difference in my skin softness and there is no way I would have tried using this on my very dry, coloured hair so I can't comment on how well it works as a shampoo. The 100g bottle lasted me 10 days and I used it everyday during that time. Other Lush 0100g bottles have lasted me over a month.
Overall I would say I am disappointed with this shower cream. I know other people really love it but it did nothing for me. I much prefer Happy Hippy or one of the other shower gels. I didn't like not feeling really clean even though I had just got out of the shower. I wasn't overly keen on the smell and I found it expensive for the amount of time it lasted. I won't be buying it again.
I received some Yummy Yummy Yummy shower cream as a gift for my birthday, and thought I'd write a review on my experience of it for others to read about.
Firstly, Yummy Yummy Yummy is a shower cream as opposed to a shower gel. This means it is more creamy and less of a liquid, giving it that little more of a luxurious feel. When I opened it I seemed really happy with it as it was pink in colour (my favourite) and the name just seemed so lovely. It is available in a 100g bottle, a 250g bottle and a large 500g bottle. I received the medium sized bottle (250g).
From reading the scent on the front of the bottle, it described that this shower cream smelt of strawberries and almond cream. I was instantly beaming as these are two of my favourite scents, so surely nothing could go wrong? I opened the cap of the lid and had a sniff. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed, it smelt ever so slightly of strawberries, but nowhere near the fruity, 'yummy' scent I was expecting. The smell just didn't cut it for me, and when using Lush products it is more often than not my favourite part of using the products.
When using this shower cream in the shower, I felt that it was much more difficult to squeeze out of the bottle. I am unsure if I had a faulty lid or if this is purely because the shower cream is far more thicker than other shower gels. Once I'd got it out I applied it to my body as normal. I found that it did lather really well and I was quite impressed with this.
After leaving my shower and drying my skin, I was able to smell the scent for numerous hours after, which I guess is a good thing, and I must say the scent smelt much better once it had been absorbed into your skin rather than the smell straight from the bottle. The scent is actually quite flattering after your shower, however I still don't think it smells like strawberries at all.
Unfortunately, if you want to get your hands on some of this shower cream, you will need to do it quickly as Lush are discontinuing this product very soon meaning it will no longer be available. For now it is available in stores and online at www.lush.co.uk, but expect to be hunting sites such as Ebay for it in a few months if you are wanting it.
100g - £3.10
250g - £6.25
500g - £10.00
As you can see from the above prices, this shower cream would set you back a far amount of money in comparison to drugstore and supermarket branded shower gels, but it is expected from Lush, as they are such a friendly, natural company that provide such high quality goods.
Overall, I was pretty pleased with this shower cream, although it still doesn't beat Snow Fairy (available at Christmas). I'd purchase another one of these Yummy Yummy Yummy's but I don't think I'd rush out to repurchase it in a hurry. I think it deserves three stars because it does wash your body well, however it is a little expensive and the scent just doesn't live up to expectations, and I won't be too sad to see this go!
I love to take a long luxurious shower in the mornings much to my husbands dismay.!! If hes not in quick theres a long wait. I tend to stick to Original Source shower gel as my shower gel of choice. As not only is it extremely instrumental in waking me up the fragrance is absolutely divine. I was having a shower the other day when I was shocked to discover that my beloved shower gel had been used up by my delightful seven year old son. I honestly do not know what he does in there however whatever it was warranted using nearly half a bottle of shower product.
Dripping wet I ran out of the shower to my bedroom and headed for my box of goodies. A wicker basket full of lotions and potions which have been either bought specifically for myself or things that have been given as presents which I only use from time to time and which are far too good to be used by children!! I noticed a little bottle which had the lush logo across the front and quickly scanning the product noticed that it was called "Yummy Yummy Yummy" Shower Cream Wash. I have to confess I have not been a great lover of Lush products in the past. I find the smell of the stores to be over-powering and as a result tend not to frequent them too often unless I am buying gifts for friends. I also suffer from allergies so strong scents are a bit of a turn off for me. Hence this is the first Lush product that I have actually tried on myself and reviewed.
Clutching my 100g little plastic bottle I headed back to my shower. The container was clear and I could see a rather striking pink coloured cream inside. The Lush logo was displayed prominently on the black label with product name and the words "For yummy soft skin" . Product ingredients were also displayed and there was a separate sticker with a rather scary looking cartoon picture of Matt (sorry matt no offence meant) who had apparently made the product. This sticker highlighted use by dates for the shower cream. The lid of the item was a rather sturdy matching black plastic cap which flicked open easily and closed securely.
I opened the product and was immediately met with the wonderful fragrance of fresh strawberry mixed with passion fruit. It was absolutely delicious sweet however not sickly or over-powering. I squeezed a small amount of the product into the palm of my hand. This did actually take a little bit of effort on my part and I did have to use a bit of pressure on the plastic bottle. A very small amount of cream came out so I had to squeeze a bit more. The product as stated before was a very vivid pink colour smooth with an almost fromage frais type consistency. Happily this ensured that it didn't run off my hand as I put the bottle down. I would have preferred to have had a hanging shower product as this stops fiddling about during application and obviously prevents having to find a place to put the bottle down . I applied the product and was suitably impressed that it glided over easily with little spillage and was aware of that lovely scent in my nostrils. Now having sensitive skin I was slightly worried that I would end up with itchy and bumpy skin which takes effect immediately on finding a product that I am allergic to happily this did not happen. Apparently you can also wash your hair using this product I did not use it for this purpose and unfortunately cannot comment further here however I suppose it would be quite handy to take to the gym or if you are away overnight.
Once dry and after putting on my clothes I was aware of a more subtle strawberry scent on my skin and I did feel that my skin was indeed softer. Overall I have now cured my fear of using Lush products due to my allergies and I would be happy to try different items from there vast range in the future. Unfortunately this item was given to me as a gift and I am unaware of how much it would actually cost to buy however I would recommend it to all. Overall 4 stars the only thing letting it down for me is the lack of a hanging loop.
Lush Yummy Yummy Yummy Shower Wash
Description: Brand: Lush / Type: Shower Gel / Cream / Strawberry and almond cream shower wash.
Anyone who has read any of my earlier reviews (thanks so much, I really appreciate all reads, rates and comments!) will probably already know that I am a huge fan of Lush. I love their products and whenever they release new ones (which is regularly, meaning there is plenty to choose from, check in store or on their website for details of new releases!) I am keen to try them.
If you are not familiar with Lush, you are likely to think that they are not cheap. This is true but it is worth knowing that they make hand made cosmetics from only natural ingredients. They never test on animals and ensure that they only use suppliers who don't either. They also support loads of charities and projects worldwide, details of which can be found on their website, along with products and ingredients. You can shop for products online and also locate your nearest shop if you are unsure where to find them.
Another great benefit of shopping online is that you can purchase from the Lush Retro range, which is a list of products which were previously discontinued but are not available to buy online - meaning that you can still pick up some of your old favourites.
Lush describe this product as "strawberry and almond cream for the skin" and I must explain that the shower gel smells so good that you will be tempted to eat it rather than use it in your shower. A 100g bottle will cost you £3.10 and it is also available in 250ml and 500ml sizes.
The product is extremely creamy and has a much more luxurious feel to it than normal shower gel. You don't have to use much to create a great lather and the aroma of fresh juicy strawberries is fabulously sweet and fruity reminding me a little of strawberry daquiris. I can still smell the gorgeous fragrance on my skin hours after using and it lingers in the bathroom for ages too.
My skin feels really pampered after using this product, it smells great and is soft and moisturised too. One thing to note though is that it is best to shake the bottle before each use because the gel feels a little bit strange if not - it is difficult to explain how, but trust me, just give it a shake for best results.
I love this stuff, it has a fantastic fresh fragrance with hints of spice and a luxurious creamy texture which leaves my skin feeling in tip top condition, if you haven't tried it yet then what are you waiting for, get yourself to Lush right now!

I have been in the lush shop a couple of times and love looking through all the different soaps and other products. I never buy myself anything though, i tend to get so many soap kind of products for birthdays and christmas's that i am always stocked up for the year! I have drawers full of body lotions, soaps and showergels and i am hoping to get through them one day! I dont have enough space for them all!!
This lush yummy yummy shower wash comes in a 250g bottle, which has a black label right round the bottle, which is quite simple and doesnt have much on it. There is just some writing about the product and it is quite plain really. The bottle is see through so you can see exactly what the product looks like, it is a lovely pink colour.
It has natural fresh ingredients including, fresh strawberries, honey, almond oil and olibanum.
I usually just pick up a bottle of asdas own shower gel as this does the job and it is cheap. I was rummaging through my make up drawers a few weeks ago and found this lush yummy yummy shower gel i still had not used.
I decided to try it that night, and was so suprised at how good a shower gel can be! This smelt gorgeous as soon as you open the bottle, you can smell the strawberry fragrance. This has almond in it too, but all i could smell was fruity strawberries! This fragrance made the whole bathroom smell of strawberries and when i went back in a few hours later you could still smell it. It lingered in the bathroom for most of the night, and i could smell it on my skin all night too.
This shower gel, isnt like a supermarket gel i am used to using. It felt like i was using a moisturising cream as a shower gel. Although i thought it would moisturise my skin well, and it deffinatley did! I didnt feel the need to moisturise after my shower as my skin already felt soft and refreshed from the shower gel! The texture was very creamy, not too runny or thick, it was a nice consistency and you dont need much of this product.
This shower gel got me thinking about why i was using the cheap supermarket brand ones! This deffinately beats any shower gel i have used, but i couldnt afford to buy it every week so i am just using it now and again, so i dont waste it!
I wouldnt leave this in my bathroom, my boyfriend always nicks my shower gels and soaps, and uses huges amounts of them, so i hide this in my bedroom and only take it in when i am going to use it or it would all be gone in a week!
This really is a nice product, a little expensive at £6.50 a bottle for shower gel as you use it everyday! But i just use it as a treat now and again, and i would love to get more of these lush products as gifts!
I was given a bottle of yummy yummy yummy shower cream/gel for Christmas, as a change from my usual Snow Fairy Shower gel, which I adore. At first glance, it looked like a paler less interesting version, so I continued using Snow Fairy until it ran ougt then I pulled out my bottle of Yummy.
Yummy comes in 3 sizes, 100ml (£3.10) which is great for taking on hoiday, weekend away, gym or swimming baths or just as a tester, 250ml (£6.25) is good for longer holidays or if you are too skint to opt for the 500ml (£10.00)which is the best value and will guarantee many a happy shower or bath. I know if may seem more expensive than your more commercial brands that you find in Boots or Superdrug or even in a Supermarket, but the quality of fresh ingredients and essential oils, with minimal manmade ingredients makes this a must have.
It comes in your typical clear minimal Lush bottle with black flip lid so the shower gel squirts or more often runs out. It is easy to use. Don't be thinking that the black labels and minimal design means they haven't put any effort into the product because it is the complete opposite. Bog standard bottles means they save money on attractive packaing and use it more wisely in sourcing the finest fresh, organic ingredients and essential oils which are vegetarian, and often vegan friendly, not tested on animals with the minimal ammount of preservatives. Less means more! Lush found out that the cost of a standard shower gel is 20% ingredients and 80% packaging. With Lush, it's the other way around; plain packaging containing beautiful ingredients.
Yummy is a thick concoxtion inbetween a gel and a cream. It is a pale pink colour and looks very girly. It has a delicious smell or strawberries and cream that fills your bathroom and lingers on your skin for a good few hours after you've come out the bath of shower. Fresh strawberries give a gorgeous fruity scent to remind you of happy sunny summer days, honey helps to smooth your skin and almond oil is great for moisturizing the skin, passionflower oil moisturises, softens and nourished skin with a drop of olibanum to rejuvinate.
You can use yummy as you would with any shower gel. Simply smoother onto your skin or sponge and rub all over. It creates a slight foam and washes off easily. It does leave your skin incredily soft, smooth and silky. It smells so divine it really helps to make you feel happy and cared for. I often get work mates commenting on my gorgeous perfume, when in fact i tell them it's my shower gel they can smell!
In my opinion this is a gorgeous shower gel/cream which is full of lovely goodness and leaves you feeling like a princess. If you like the scent I would highly recommend using Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar or Magic mushroom bubble bar (now only in stock via website www.lush.co.uk) whihc all cintain the say creamy strawberry scent. The colour is lovely and the scent lasts a long time. It also makes a perfect gift.
I've tried a couple of Lush's shower gels before in the smaller bottles but never Yummy Yummy Yummy, if you've read my other Lush reviews you'll know I recently got the Think Pink Hatbox as a gift and I'm working my way through the products, I think this is my third review from the gift box, you can read my others if you'd like to know what I think of all the products.
Price: I have to say I was shocked at how expensive this was when I saw it, at £10 for 500ml it's pretty steep, you can get smaller bottles. However, it is a good sized bottle and in my shower a couple of hours ago I didn't need to use much so I think it will last for a long time, if I can resist using it everyday!
What Lush say: "Strawberry and almond cream for the skin.
After using: I found Yummy Yummy Yummy really creamy and thick, so not much is needed to give you the full effect. Something I've found with Lush products is that they don't really lather, but apparently that's something to do with the natural oils, it's still nice to use though. The smell's definately sticking around and the bathroom smells lovely! My skin feels really soft, which comes from the almond oil (a natural moisturiser) and I'm sure the results will get better after most uses.
Overall: As always Lush has produced another gorgeous product, lovely scent as always and seems you don't need to use too much in the shower. However, as the price is quite high so I'll see how long this bottle lasts before I make my next purchase!
Smell: I can really smell strawberry and a hint of almond which is a really lovely combination. It really reminds me of summer, which is nice, especially in this weather!
I had been reading and hearing about Lush products for ages, before I finally took the plunge and bought a selection.
Late last summer, on a particularly dreary day, I decided I needed a treat and sat down to browse the Lush website. I had recently decorated my bathroom and wanted to give it a luxurious touch by buying some lovely smellies.
After getting over the initial shock of the unbelievably high prices, I popped a few goodies in my basket, one of which was Yummy Yummy Yummy Shower Wash.
Yummy Yummy Yummy, suits it's name to a tee. It has the most gorgeous fresh strawberry scent and smells sweet enough to eat! All Lush products are handmade and Yummy Yummy Yummy is made with fresh strawberries, honey water and almond oil.
I like to pour mine onto a shower puff, it lathers up really well and the smell is outstanding. Yummy Yummy Yummy, leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and smooth. It does leave a slight perfume on your body, but this only lasts a short length of time. The smell does fill the bathroom though and starts spreading to the rest of the house, which is lovely.
The only problem I have had with this and the other shower wash I bought, is the bottle. It is just not squeezeable enough. Yummy Yummy Yummy is quite thick and is hard to get out when you can't give the bottle a good squeeze. The only other thing I didn't like is the consistency of this shower wash. It is very lumpy and this doesn't really improve with a good shake. It does appear to be down to the strawberries, so maybe nothing can be done to improve that.
At £6.25 for a 250g bottle, I won't be buying this particular shower wash again. Although I loved the smell, I really didn't like the lumps and at that price it really has to be perfect.
Yummy Yummy Yummy also comes in a 100g bottle at £3.10 and 500g at £10.
I will be giving this product 4 stars out of 5. Although it is expensive, I would pay this for other varieties that I absolutely love, like Happy Hippy. It does lose a star for the lumpy consistency though.
