Lynx Fever Shower Gel
Advantages: Very long lasting, bold fruity smell
Disadvantages: Can be difficult to apply
I love Lynx shower gels and even have an entire box dedicated partly to them http://i.imgur.com/evGcDMZ.jpg
This shower gel strengthens my obsession with them!
Lynx shower gels cost around £2 each for a 250ml bottle, a bottle will generally last me about a month so this means that my yearly spend on shower gels will be around £24 - I would say that this is an average price for shower gels, not as cheap as it could be but not breaking the bank either.
The bottle designs are always changing but also quite innovative. The Lynx bottle design featured int he picture accompanying this review is their old-style bottle (Well, when I say old-style I mean last year's style). They now come in a bottle like this: http://goo.gl/LQ7sX
The new bottle design is a little thicker than the old one but narrower with the same height. You get no extra gel with this change but I find it far easier to hold, especially when the bottle and your hands are soaking wet. The old bottle had finger grooves which even I, with what I would say are quite large hands, could not fit all of my fingers into. The flick-cap has also been replaced with a push lever which reveals a release spout. Although these changes do make it a little easier to sue the shower gel, especially holding and opening it with one hand, it is still no real reason to buy this gel over another brand. The important thing really is the gel itself...
The Lynx Fever shower gel is a deep orange colour it also has a silvery glitter effect through it although once applied both the colour and glitter effect both disappear to form a white foam as most shower gels do.
The gel is not the best to apply in my opinion, I often find myself losing the majority of the gel onto the shower floor as it slips around, especially on wet hands far too easy and can slide of my body before it has been lathered. However, if you do take care to not lose it, once lathered the gel is very good, it forms a large amount of foam to cover all of your body and seems to clean well. I have used it to get off both oil and mud and it handles it very well.
Although at the moment the shower gel seems very average, this all changes when it gets to the fragrance. Of all of the shower gels, this has to be my favourite for its scent. As you would expect, it smells very similar to the Fever deodorant but in the shower gel it is a much bolder smell which makes it work far better. The bottle described the fragrance as "Brazilian Hot Mud & Red Dragonfruit Extract", to be honest, this would put me off buying it in the shops, I would not really want to be putting anything on me which
is described as "Mud" when having a shower - to "de-fancify" the description, I think it smells mainly of Orange with hints of other fruits. The smell is very deep and fruity and last all day - many of the other scents in the range I have found to wear off pretty quickly to almost instantly but this one is different and you will certainly not be disappointed with how long-lasting it is!
Summary: If you can apply it, the results are fantastic!
