Advantages: Frequently on offer

Disadvantages: Don't like the bits of grit

Lynx showergels are on offer more often than Man Utd win games in the fifth minute of injury time. For example, Boots have it for 3 for 2, and Asda are currently selling it at £1 each! Is a special offer not as special when it's on all the time? Perhaps it should be a "not so special offer"? Any how, because it's frequently cheaply available I often use Lynx products, and Lynx Rise is my latest Lynx "find". Please find my review below on the Lynx Rise showergel.

The Lynx website advertises this with the slogan "girls like a man who can remember the little details but first thing in a morning that's not always easy - that's why we've created new Lynx Rise showergel". I'm not sure my wife would make the link to my choice of showergel were I to forget our anniversary, but at least it smells good and gives me a bit of a kickstart in the morning.

I reckon that the smell gives me that kickstart due to the lime extract, it's definately got a sharp citrus tang to it which does help to make me feel invigorated. There are also Himalayan minerals in the gel, but what these minerals are or do I'm not sure. I think it's part of a ploy to make the showergel sound more exotic and appealing - the town of Buxton produces some outstanding, high quality mineral water but I think that Lynx would sound a bit silly were they to put "contains minerals from Derbyshire" on the label, as beautiful as parts of Derbyshire are.

I think the bits of "grit" in the showergel are slightly annoying when I'm rubbing them into my face, they are too scratchy and unwelcome. The appearance of the gel is a warm yellow with the blue bits of grit suspended in it and has the consistency of honey, but not the stickiness.

As liquid soaps go, it does remove muck very well and I always feel like I've got a new coat of skin on after using it, it's very refreshing and smells great. I would recommend it to people who like any other citrus based / smelling showergels, but only when on offer as the usual asking price of around £2.50 is a bit steep. There is also a matching deodrant, but I am yet to try this. Thanks for reading.

Summary: Smells good
