When it comes to bathroom products, the best motto I have applied is go for the brands. It's the one area of the house where I will not skimp on the costs as, for me; the bathroom is the place where people prepare for the day. Want the best start to the day? Buy the best!!
I have always been a lynx man for as long as I can remember. I've dabbled with the rightguards and the sures of the world, even reverted to supermarket home brand products when the chips were down. But none of them compare to the all-round package lynx have to offer.
I always look for new fragrances, I can't think of 2 shopping trips where I have come back with the same lynx product consecutively. But I found myself purchasing the lynx twist shower gel. The cool pop up lid to the bottle is something unusual in the mudain task of showering. However the green liquid that comes out suggests something vibrant hidden inside.
The product smells great and can leave you feeling refreshed all day whilst smelling great as the fresh limey aroma wafts up your nose from time to time.
I have always liked Lynx deodorants and shower gels and regularly have at least one of them somewhere either in my bathroom or a can in my bedroom and when I see a new one come out I like to try it. A while back I tried the Lynx Twist which I thought was another very good product from them. I noticed I was running low on shower gel earlier today and as I was going shopping anyway I made sure I'd pick up some new Shower Gel in Morrisons as I'd noticed they had a load of Lynx shower gels for just 99p. I picked up the smartly designed Lynx Twist. So here's my latest review in a long run of Lynx product reviews over my time on Dooyoo. Lynx Twist was released in 2010 as part of a new range of deodorants and shower gels.
Lynx Twist Shower Gel is an invigorating combination of Lemon and Lime which makes for a fresh, masculine fragrance. Like all the other Lynx shower gels this is pretty good on economy as you don't need to use a lot to get clean and feel refreshed and the bottle has been redesigned to make the shower gel more economical with a better cap which lets out less shower gel which reduces over use. I had had this shower gel once or twice before and was impressed with it. Once you mix the gel with water either in the shower or in the bath it gives a fragrant and very fresh citrus scent which feels good and leaves your skin feeling smooth. The fragrance changes a little to a more woody scent which explains the name.
I would recommend this to any man who likes Lynx products or if you just like citrus tinged shower gels or fragrances. It works well with the accompanying deodorant or any similar scented deodorants. It lasts well both after use and also as you don't need to apply much when in use it does last a while. I tend to have a couple of different shower gels at one time and as I still have a little left in my other shower gel I will get more out of this shower gel than if I had it solely. It's another excellent product from Lynx and one that I will certainly consider again in the future. A very good product that has some great deals on at the moment. So give it a try.
Last week I purchased a bottle of Lynx Twist shower gel from Wilkinsons in Motherwell. All their Lynx shower gels were only £1.98 and, as they're £2.50 in Tesco at the moment, I decided to buy a bottle. I was drawn to this one because I've never tried it before and I liked the advert for it (http://www.lynxeffect.com/#/lynx_twist/twist.aspx). I am quite pleased with what I got and I'm glad I chose this one as it smells quite nice.
What's special about this shower gel then? Well, Lynx Twist changes fragrance during the day. As with most Lynx products, it's advertised as being beneficial to a man's sex life. In this case, the advert implies that this shower gel will keep women interested as they like change.
I usually don't like the smell of men's shower gels as they are mostly very strong, overpowering scents. With Twist, however, I quite liked the initial fragrance. It doesn't say what it's meant to smell like but I think it's quite fruity. About an hour or two after I got out the shower I did notice I smelt slightly different but I wouldn't say the change in fragrance would be enough to "keep women intrigued". According to the Lynx website, the fragrance "evolves woody accents" which I suppose is accurate as the new scent does have a sort of woody element to it but it's still not that strong.
==How does it affect your skin?==
Since I began using this shower gel on Monday, I've noticed my skin is a lot smoother. On Wednesday, a pen exploded in my pocket and my leg got covered in blue ink but it didn't take long to wash off with this, whereas when I've used other shower gels to remove pen marks it can take quite a while and never removes it completely - it always takes more than 1 wash before it disappears.
I've said that it both refreshes and moisturises your skin as it leaves it feeling soft and clean and it smells great all day.
Unlike some other Lynx shower gels, like Fever which is a vibrant orange, you don't see the colour until your using it. Twist is a dark lime green colour. The shower gel does smell like lime ("fruity" I said above, it's definitely quite citrusy) so this colour is appropriate. However, I did find this slightly unappealing as things like vomit and gunge on TV are usually green.
Lynx Twist is a great shower gel, and it's definitely worth the money. I'd recommend it to any man but don't be expecting it to drastically improve your love life.

I have tried most of the Lynx range of deodorant sprays and I would say most (if not all) of these fragrances are also sold in a shower gel aswell. Lynx have used the same branding - a black plastic bottle with bright labelling and 'LYNX' written sideways up the bottle with 'TWIST' underneath it. When looking for Lynx products you need just watch out for the black container that all Lynx products come in. The Lynx Twist has a yellow/green set of graphics to highlight the lemon and lime citrus fragrance which is the reason for me purchasing the shower gel after taking a liking to the Lynx Twist deodorant spray.
Priced at around £2.50 the shower gel comes in a 250ml plastic bottle with a curved cap that is simple to open and close, but that is well designed in keeping with the rest of the bottle. The curved design of the entire bottle is interesting, with one side of the bottle having a wavey affect to it which is like a finger grip. As you would hold this bottle whilst in the shower I think the contrast of textures and shape of the container adds to the appeal of the product.
Upon opening the cap you will firstly notice the citrus scent hit your nostrils and when I use this shower gel in the morning it certainly wakes me up! The colour is also a very bright colour, similar to that of the graphics on the packaging. The reason why the product is called 'Twist' is that the fragrance alters when you leave the shower. Instead of an invigorating citrus scent it takes on a woody fragrance, giving you a more masculine scent.
I think the whole 'Twist' element of this product is a great USP and although critics could say it is a gimmick, I find it a great addition to such a product. I enjoy both the citrus influence during showering, with its awakening ability, and the 'manly' scent when I am getting dressed after the shower. The shower gel gives a very rich lather, and is one of the better shower gels I have used. The good thing with Lynx products is that they are often on offer at the major supermarkets, so I would advise you to shop around - you won't regret giving this one a try.
I got some of this for Christmas together with the matching body spray, already reviewed. I have now had three showers using this stuff and I have to say I am less than impressed.
It's probably as much down to the fact that I don't think I'm a Lynx type person as it is to the fact that this is a pleasant enough but distinctly uninspiring and downright ordinary shower gel.
It comes in a cheap looking black flip top plastic container with heavy Lynx vertical branding. I hate brand names that you have to read vertically - why do they do that?
Sorry - I have my Mr. Grumpy hat on today. The reality is that we have innumerable shower gels cluttering up the bathroom and I react against paying over the odds for heavily marketed branded goods that are little or no better than the cheap and cheerful own brands.
At the end of the day - or even at the start of the day if you shower in the mornings, you just want the darned stuff to give you a bit of lather and get you clean. End of story. This dark green gel does that (actually I quite like the colour!), but it doesn't do it any better than many other cheaper shower gels I have used.
You can pay as much as £2.66 for this 250ml shower gel (at Boots) or as little as £1.49. Considering it is mostly "Aqua", this is a high price to pay. It seems to be widely stocked by the major multiples as although this was a gift rather than my own purchase, I have seen it everywhere since Christmas.
I had to laugh when I read the manufacturers claim: "... a blast of fresh fragrance to make a good first impression which twists into long lasting refreshment to keep her tantalised and intrigued..." What a load of old tosh!
If you fall for this kind of thing, I note that you can buy the set of Body Spray and Shower Gel for half price in Debenhams at £2.75. And fellas..... this stuff isn't going to guarantee that you pull a bird at the weekend and this isn't going to make you totally irresistible and it isn't going to make you a red hot latin lover, so get real!
According to the Unilever website, over 8 million blokes in the UK and Ireland use Lynx every day, so please consider this review as the bleatings of a sad old git.
When my boyfriend comes to stay at my flat he always brings with him toiletries instead of using my girly products! He likes the Lynx range and purchases stuff from the range rather often and this one he used last time he stayed with me. He left it in my bathroom when he left and me, well I occasionally try his stuff out for review purposes or simply because I miss him!
The plastic black bottle has a flip-top style lid to the top of it concealing a small hole and silver and bright green writing on the front of it and a pattern and I am told on the front of the bottle that it is Lynx 'Twist', Revitalising Shower Gel. On the back label other information given includes being told a bit about the product, the ingredients are listed, the size is stated (which in this case is 250ml) and contact details for Unilver are given (the manufacturer of the product). This is a nice bottle with grips to the right hand side of the bottle for ease of handling along with a curve and of course the bottle is informative enough.
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Bottle:
A blast of fresh fragrance to make a first good impression which twists into long-lasting refreshment to keep her tantalised and intrigued by you.
Well my boyfriend loves this shower gel and used it often during his stay. I loved the smell of this one on him and it lingered on his skin fresh all day long and made his skin touchably soft....so when he left me a half bottle in the bathroom I was unable to resist using it one evening to see how good a men's shower gel really is!
The gel itself is quite runny, glossy and a transparent darkish green colour. Highly fragranced, this is rather woody based and aftershavy with a good deep, rich musky tone to it with a citrus twist lightly over the top of it. It's really fresh and rather butch this one and I love the scent of this!
It lathers up with total ease, feels hydrating when in use and rinses off well leaving no residue behind itself at all.
After using this I felt really clean and really soft skinned! The fragrance lasted me from when I went to bed to when I woke in the morning and was just as fresh as when I had first used it, great for a man but not so good for a feminine woman so I had to have another shower to get rid of the smell before commencing with my day!
This is a brilliant shower gel and an all round great product. My boyfriend loves it, I love him using it cos of the manly fragrance it has to it and I have to say my skin felt wonderful! I like this so much that although I won't use it again cos I felt the fragrance was all wrong for a woman, I did go out and buy him some more Lynx for Christmas!
A really nice shower product for you men!
Available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc priced at about £2.60 a bottle.
