Some time ago I received a luxurious Molton Brown boxed gift set and this was one of quite a number of bath and shower products within the box.
- Price and Packaging -
My bottle is only 100ml and part of a gift box so I'm not sure how much a diddy little bottle like this would be. However the 300ml bottle on the Molton Brown website is £16.
The liquid comes in a transparent, plastic bottle with a silver coloured screw top lid with Molton Brown on.
- What's on the packaging? -
~ silky luxuriously aromatic bubbles
~ enriched with warm essential oils of orchid, Madagascan ylang-ylang, Eyptian neroli and Chinese cinnamon
~ leaves skin supremely relaxed and pampered
- Recommended Use -
It's suggested that you pour one capful under a running tap. For use in the shower then apply some of the liquid on to a sponge or cloth and smooth over your body.
- My Experience -
~ The Smell and Appearance
This is an orange liquid. On smelling it for the first time it reminded me of musk and winter nights. For me this was quite a masculine fragrance but not so heavy a smell that it put me off using it.
~ Using it
This pours out rather too easily from the large hole at the top of the bottle so be careful when pouring out unless you aren't too worried about wasting it! I tend to use this in the bath but have tried it in the shower and it gives a really good clean and lather but I prefer soaking in the bath with this.
It creates quite a lot of bubbles with just a small amount, the faster and warmer the running water, the better!
As for the manufacturer's claims that it leaves your skin relaxed and pampered, I'm not so sure about this.
The smell and the aroma in the bathroom whilst using this is good but my skin doesn't feel any more pampered than when I am using cheaper brands of soap bubbles.
As for buying it again once mine runs out...... Like the other ones that I have tried in my gift set it isn't so luxurious that I would consider forking out £16 for a 300ml bottle for myself once this one runs out. However I would consider buying it as a gift for someone who is a fan of MB products.
Overall a satisfactory bath product but not hugely better than cheaper brands I have used.
I have the blissful templetree version of this Molton Brown range of Moisture Bath and Shower.
I got this as part of a christmas present from my sister for chritmas 2008 so i dont know how much it cost, but i do know she got it from the Molton Brown shop at Bicester in Oxford.
The blissful templetree is a lovely deep blue in colour, the packaging is simple but looks very expensive. The bottle is clear plastic so you can see the product inside and the lid is a silver screw top that has molton brown embossed on it. You get 300 ml of the product in the bottle.
This version of the product smells very fresh and what i would decribe as a woodland, out doorsy smell. It does smell like a slightly manly smell but its not too manly for a woman to use.
The texture is quite thick but pours easily from the bottle, it works up to a nice foam in the bath or shower.
You dont need too much of the product either, which is good as i think it is very expensive.
I have normal skin but this product did not leave me any more moisturised than my cheaper shower gel product that i usually use.
The thing I love about this product is as it says in its title from Molton Brown, 'Silky, luxuriously aromatic bubbles that are made for sharing'. and it most certainly is. This is in fact my favourite and most luxuriest bath/ shower gel & is always at the top of my wish list for smellies.
At just over £15 per bottle, it is a luxury purchase and an expensive bottle of shower gel and at 300ml per bottle, you may expect a bit more for your money but what is atually inside this moderately sized bottle goes a long way.
I only use a very small amount on my flannel and it lathers up very well into a nice foamy lather. The smell is heavenly. From the instant that you open the bottle the smell hits you in avery positive way. It is a very feminine and floral fragrance. This is due to the ingredients which are listed as 'warm essential oils of orchid, Madagascan ylang-ylang, Egyptian neroli and Chinese cinnamon'.
The thing that I love about this product is that even after you have left the bath or shower, the fragrance is still very obvious on your skin unlike other shower gels that lose the fragrance instantly.
This is my all time favourite shower gel and the only thing that can improve it is a following of sensual hanaleni body satiniser for the ultimate Molton Brown finish.
