Having finished my boyfriend's Radox shower gel I decided today to use one of his others. This is Morrison's Aqua Splash shower gel. There's not a great deal left in the bottle so he must have been using it (although he prefers soap - weirdo!)
This comes in a very plain clear bottle which is 400ml. You can see the blue shower gel through it. On the back there is a comprehensive list of ingredients (which I won't regurgitate) and other usual product information as you'd expect, such as the bottle being recyclable.
The bottle opens at the top which I don't like as it means it's harder when you get to the bottom of the bottle and you can't stand it upside down.
The shower gel is thinner than more expensive ones, but not too much so, you don't need much extra, It lathers up surprisingly well, and was nice to use with my shower puff. It smells aquatic, not overpowering, but generally quite nice. I think it's suitable for men and women. I like aqua fragrances anyway. The shower gel leaves me feeling clean and refreshed. The smell doesn't linger afterwards.
I'm not sure what it cost (and can't find on the website) but think around 70-80p which isn't bad. It's nothing special, and obviously I prefer my Soap and Glory products, but it's perfectly adequate for the job, and particularly good if you only have time for quick showers (in my case due to having a baby).
3 out of 5 stars from me.
In our bathroom we have loads and loads of bath and shower products cos we all who live here buy our own. I have a habit of getting in the shower and forgetting to take my stuff in (which I hide usually cos everyone else helps themselves to it lol) and cos I'm soggy and wet I use the stuff that's already in there and this was one of those such products the other day!
400ml frosted plastic white bottle that you can see-through and it has a matching flip top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole. On the front in plain writing which is lime green and white I'm told it is Morrisons Shower Gel 'Aqua Splash' and the size is stated. On the back of the bottle ingredients and directions for use are given, warnings and storage instructions are listed and contact details for Morrisons are also stated. It's a functional bottle but very plain to look at and you can really tell it's economy cos it looks so basic but having said that it's ok to look at just not posh and it is informative enough and simple to use.
The Gel Itself:
Well it is just that...a gel. It's a rich turquoise colour and transparent with a gloss to it and of really good consistency not being too runny and it has body. Smell wise well it's fresh, light and unisex in my opinion. It has a sea fresh/aqua smell so it isn't floral or too heavy and the fragrance is simply very hard to explain but it's nice and smells 'blue' lol.
It lathers up well enough. I wasn't overly impressed with the amount of lather it gave up and I did have to use rather a large amount of product to get it foamy but when I did it cleansed my skin, fragranced my bathroom up nicely and rinsed off with ease.
When I dabbed myself dry ... yep I felt clean and comfortable and no residue was left behind it but I didn't feel it hydrated my skin at all but saying that it never dried it out either and the smell sadly disappeared off my skin within a few minutes.
A cheap and cheerful shower gel...this is. I think of this as an every day sort of product but it offers nothing and you get nothing special from it. It cleaned me and refreshed me well enough at the point of using it but I wouldn't go out of my way to use this again. it failed to impress me anyway!
Only available in Morrisons store priced around 69 a bottle.
