“ Brand: N-Spa / Type: Body Scrub / Subcategory: Body Cream / Scrub / Suitable for: Body / What it does: Exfoliates, „
I like to use a body scrub a couple of times a week to keep my skin looking in good condition. Having fairly dry skin I am prone to it flaking, so using a scrub gets rid of any dry patches and leaves my skin looking fresher and healthier. The latest body scrub I have used is the Blueberry Cream Pie scrub from N Spa. I have tried quite a lot of the N Spa products now, but this is the first I have tried in this particular fragrance.
The scrub comes in a clear tube, through which you can see the pale blue scrub. The design of this tube is similar to the rest of the N Spa range with bold black writing on the front. The flip top lid is sturdy and easy to open. I prefer scrubs that come in tubes rather than tubs, as with tubs I often find I get product under my nails.
The scent of the body scrub is noticeable as soon as the product is squeezed out of the tube, and unfortunately I don't feel it is one of N Spa's best fragrances. I've used a fair few N Spa products to date, all in a variety of scents, and I feel that Blueberry Pie is probably the least impressive. I certainly don't think the scent is horrible, and I've definitely used worse in my time, however there is something very artificial about this product which is disappointing, and although a fragrance of blueberry can clearly be detected, there is an almost chemical tone to the scent, which really lets it down.
The directions for use are simply to apply to cleansed, damp skin and massage in. The scrub is a rather light consistency. I don't mean runny, but it's not one of those thick, buttery scrubs, and so the massaging in part of the process is very easy and takes minimal effort. Due to the consistency, only a relatively small amount of the product is required per use, as it spreads out well, which goes some way to explaining why my tube has lasted me several months now.
The scrub is a rather unnatural powder blue colour and you can see large black grains throughout. As well as these grains, I also believe the scrub may contain salt or sugar granules which can't be seen. It certainly feels like there are a lot of grains in the product when massaging it into the skin, however it's never uncomfortable and nor do I feel as though I am rubbing my skin raw when using it! I find it rinses away easily too, with no grains clinging to my skin as there's nothing worse than gritty feeling skin!
The results I get from this product are impressive. It sloughs away any dry, dead skin, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath, and any dry/flaky bits are obliterated! I don't notice any trace of the scent left behind on my skin, however for me that's not necessarily a bad thing, considering I am not overly keen on it.
A 225ml tube of this scrub costs £3.00. I feel this is a decent price, and one that I'm more than happy to pay.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this scrub. It functions well at buffing up my skin and leaving it feeling smooth and soft. The only downside is that I felt the blueberry cream pie scent was rather artificial, and for that it will lose a star. Otherwise, a lovely product, which I would highly recommend.
If you're anything like me then you'll adore the N-Spa Fruit range. If you're exactly like me then you won't even manage to make it to the bottom of this review before rushing off to Asda when I tell you this range of products is currently on offer there for two for £4. That's a nice little saving considering this body scrub alone costs £3.
I normally stick to N-Spa's body butters but occasionally fork out for their body scrub. I love the body scrubs but feel £3 is little excessive in price for a 225ml bottle that really doesn't last that long at all. Needless to say I've fully taken advantage of Asda's current offer and stocked up on these products!
I decided to go for this blueberry cream pie body scrub as the accompanying body butter is one of my all time favourites. As the name would suggest this smells divine. It's a very sweet and fruity smell that lingers on your body for ages without ever becoming sickly and I never, ever grow tired or bored of this scent!
The packaging is fairly basic but rather nice. It's a clear bottle which allows you to see the pale purple body scrub inside along with all it's exfoliating black balls. It has a black flip top lid and the bottle can easily be squeezed in order to get those last bits out.
When stood up on its lid the writing goes from bottom to top. 'Blueberry' is written in a large, clear, bold, black font which catches you eye straight away. As with all N-Spa fruit products there is a little story about what a wise man once said in relation to this product written on the bottle. It makes quite nice reading!
The back of the bottle contains a little product description, directions for use, a warning about this not being a food product (don't eat it, it is tempting but probably best you don't all the same) and an ingredients list.
I find this product is best used in the bath as the smell is very relaxing, if I use it in the shower I always wish I was instead sat in a bubble bath! To use this body scrub apply to wet skin, gently massaging it in and then rinse with water. I prefer to use my hands with this rather than a sponge or other alternative as I like my palms to feel the benefits of this scrub as well.
You do need to use a lot of scrub to do your entire body though which is its only downside really. A grape sized blob will do both of my arms, but then I need another grape sized blob for each leg, another one for my feet and another one a bit for my torso. A little bit of this doesn't get you very far at all.
The great news is, however, that this leaves your skin feeling extremely soft. It exfoliates your body removing all those dead skin cells and leaving new, soft skin glowing instead. It's nice to get your whole body exfoliated form time to time rather than concentrating entirely on your face.
The smell, as I have mentioned, is gorgeous and long lasting which really adds to this products list of benefits.
I really do love this product. I still don't think I'll be paying £3 for a bottle as it just doesn't last long enough to justify paying such a price. I am, however, happy to to get a couple of them for £4!
