NSPA Indulgent Gingerbread Latte Bath Syrup
Advantages: Rich sweet scent, relaxing, good value
Disadvantages: Doesn't create as many bubbles as other N-Spa bath products, scent is not long lasting
I'm not really a bath person and find myself taking a shower as I find it generally quicker and it leaves me feeling more refreshed. However I do like a long soak in the bath every now and then and as I'm currently 6 months pregnant with number 3 I do find the need to relax and soak in a bath is becoming more frequent, in fact I'm finding myself opting for bath's over showers as I can simply collapse in a hot bath after a day of chasing two 23 month old toddlers about. After purchasing a number of N-Spa bath products one of my latest favourites is the N-Spa Gingerbread Latte Bath Syrup.
*** N-Spa Gingerbread Latte Bath Syrup***
The description of the Gingerbread Latte Bath Syrup is "Hansel and Gretel" said the wise man "were unable to resist the gingerbread house with candy sugar windows and a whipped creamy smooth interior. Beware as forbidden fruit, like the witch, always has a warm sweet and spicy espresso intensity with a fiery surprise to capture your heart."
The product is not tested on animals.
The product is available in a 100ml or 500ml sized bottle. The N-Spa Gingerbread Latte Syrup is available from Asda or directly from N-Spa online at www.nirvanaspa.co.uk . The product costs £3.00 for a large 500ml bottle or £1.47 for the smaller 100ml sized bottle. Although not the cheapest of bubble bath type products it priced very reasonably and I wouldn't consider it as expensive.
I tend not to be a regular bather; and find myself opting for a shower because of convenience but when I do take a bath it is to relax. This has started to happen more regularly since becoming pregnant and suffering quite bad backache therefore when I take a soak I like to use a bath product with a relaxing aroma that creates a lot of bubbles. The reason I use a lot of N-Spa products is I like the amount of bubbles that they create but I must admit when I first used the Gingerbread Latte Syrup I was quite disappointed it did not create as many bubbles as the other bath syrup products. I probably pour in around 2 cap fulls of bath syrup with most N-Spa products which gives ample bubbles (so the whole of the bath is covered once filled). When using the Gingerbread Latte Syrup I have to use almost double this amount therefore I found myself getting through the 500ml bottle a lot quicker and this made this syrup a less "economical" choice.
I was not disappointed however at the scent of this bath syrup it is delicious. As soon as the syrup mixes with the hot water when poured into running water a rich warm scent is released. This scent is a very rich cinnamon scent with a very light coffee and chocolate aroma. I was surprised at how this smelt chocolately but it gives the bath syrup a very warm spicy coffee scent rather than a bitter coffee scent.
Once the bath was filled and I was relaxing the warm gingerbread and cinnamon scent is the most prevalent scent. This is very sweet very much like a cake baking but not overly sweet and sickly in a sugary sweet type of way. The aroma is very relaxing and has a festive type of scent which I feel makes this a perfect option for winding down with.
After bathing and drying myself I did feel relaxed but I must admit I did feel slightly disappointed that the delicious scent is not long lasting on the skin. My skin smelt clean and did have a very slight sweet scent to it but I had to sniff my skin very closely to make out this very slight sweet scent. Once dry you can't really make out the scent of the bath syrup at all. From the rich delicious gingerbread scent I could smell whilst in the bath I was surprised I could not smell this on my skin.
Once I had dried off after my bath with a towel I did feel that my skin smelt and felt clean to touch but not as smooth or soft as I had hoped for. My skin tends to be drier especially during winter and even after regular baths using this bath syrup I have not noticed any real difference to the condition of my skin. The packaging claims that the product moisturises however I did not really feel these claims were true in my experience and I have used other bath products that have had a much superior moisturising effects.
I would definitely recommend the N-Spa Gingerbread Latte Bath Syrup and scent wise it is one of my top five N-Spa products because of its relaxing rich aroma. This scent is a sweet gingerbread and cinnamon smell mixed with a very sweet chocolate and coffee burst without being too sickly sweet.
The bath syrup is also very good value for money at £3.50 for a large 500ml bottle however my main criticism of the Gingerbread Latte Bath Syrup compared with other N-Spa bath products is for some reason it does not create as many bubbles. Therefore to create a very bubbly bath you need to use a lot of product.
The after effects of the Gingerbread Latte Bath Syrup are that the delicious scent created at bath time does not really stay on your skin after bathing. Skin is left feeling clean with a sweet hint but unfortunately the rich aromas are limited to bath time only! I also feel that the moisturising effects described on the packaging were not really noticeable on my skin.
Summary: A rich, relaxing gingerbread and cinnamon scented bath product from N-Spa
