      A good product at a good price

      For birthdays and Christmas you can guarantee I am going to get some form of products to use in the bath beacause my friends and family know how much I love a good soak in the bath to get away from the pressures of day to day life for a bit. One of the products that I was bought by one of my friends who made me a big pamper box was the n-spa fruit tropical lime and coconut cream shower sorbet and this is my review of the product.

      N-spa products are from the Nirvana day spa and they claim their products are luxurious and will treat, care for and de stress even the busiest people. According to their website they sell their products exclusively at Asda and I have found that their products are often on offer in the stores and so can prove to be really cheap and certainly look as though they cost more. I have noticed that they sell some products on online stores though too so it is worth having a look around! I have had a few products by n-spa in the past though and have found that they can be a bit hit and miss really. Usually I have found that although the products smell amazing they can be a bit of a let down on the performance front and so I wondered where this shower sorbet would fit in really.

      The n-spa tropical lime and coconut cream shower sorbet is part of their fruit range and it comes in a 225ml tube which is clear plastic so you can see the lime coloured product through it. The tube features the n-spa name as well as the product name which is in really large black lettering so there would be no mistaking what fragrance this is! We are told that this is a double moisture shower cream and body wash on the front of the tube too. What I particularly like about this packaging is the fact that it stands on it's black lid and so the product is always settled at the bottom of the tube and so there is no messing around waiting for the shower sorbet to trickle down the tube when you want to use it! The packaging on the whole looks quite nice. It is simple and quite bold looking at the same time with the large lettering but I think it fits in well with the cool, trendy looking n-spa branding I have seen before.

      The cap of the product is secure but comes open easily enough with just one hand when I am the bath or shower which is handy. The product comes out nice and easily as well either on to my hand or to my shower puff. The smell of this product is so lovely! I never really have been drawn to lime smelling products to be honest but this one is gorgeous and sharp but sweet smelling as well which I'm guessing is down to the coconut cream element of the fragrance. I don't think you can specifically smell coconut though and this is all about the lime really with this product but it does smell really lovely and I find it quite invogorating to be honest. I think it is a good one for using in the morning when you need to wake up a bit!

      This product lathers wonderfully when I use it on my shower puff but if I just apply it with my hand I find it is harder to get it to lather as it is quite a creamy product. There are loads of bubbles created from just a small amount though on the shower puff and so a little goes a really long way when used in this way. I find that this product does actually make my skin feel quite nice and soft when I use it which is a bonus and I don't usually apply a moisturiser after using this one. My one niggle with this product is actually that the scent of the product doesn't linger well on the skin and usually by the time I am towel dried the scent it gone almost completely which is such a let down.

      My son actually uses this product when he is in the bath too as it is one of my more unisex shower products! He likes the scent too and he hasn't had any negative effects on his skin such as it drying his sensitive skin out or anything like that so I think it would be a good one for all of the family to use. I like how you can use this one for twenty four months from opening as it gives you plenty of time to use up the full tube as well.

      Having looked online for a current price I couldn't find it in stock at Asda but it is available from fragrance direct online for just £1.20 a tube which apparently offers a £1.70 discount. For this price I would absolutely snap up this product! I think they make nice gifts in a pamper hamper for example and they are not going to break the bank. This one is a good offering and one of my favourites from n-spa I just wish the fragrance lasted.

      Thank you for reading my review!

      Bodywash that's not as exciting as it sounds

      These days my bathroom shelves look increasingly like a larder with butters, whips and creams containing fruit, spices and sugar; it seems there is no end of combinations of tasty ingredients and formulations with names that conjure up foodie images and one brand that features fruit heavily in its products is 'n-spa'.

      This 'Tropical Lime & Coconut Cream Shower Sorbet' caught my eye while shopping in a discount store, though I understand that the brand is sold almost exclusively in ASDA. This was a concern to me because I refuse to shop at ASDA for ethical reasons and I wanted to be sure that the brand is not an ASDA own label, but a quick Google reassured me so into my basket it went.
      I bought a 225ml tube which has a flip top cap. It's easy to open and close the cap with wet hands in the shower and it's easy to squeeze the contents out as the tube starts to empty. It's interesting that a brand called 'Nirvana Spa' (also known as 'n-spa' on its packaging) should have such bold packaging. This tube has large letters in bold black print which is, in my opinion, the opposite of what I would expect from a spa range: when I think of spas I think of relaxation, and peace and quiet but this packaging is loud and far from laid back. A red splodge bears the information 'Super Fruit' and from the information on the back I learned that this product is ''super fruity' and is 'bursting with protective antioxidant extracts of juicy Pomegranate, Green Tea and Cranberry goodness' (sic - someone needs to tell 'n-spa' that those words don't require capital letters!).

      This body wash may contain those ingredients but it is the lime and coconut scents of the product's name that dominate; however, while they are distinct, they are disappointing mild and I had expected something more zingy and exciting. This is a pleasantly scented product but nowhere near as intense as the packaging style had me anticipating. The scent doesn't intensify with use as some do, nor does it linger on the skin after use.

      On the bright side it is a bathing product that feels luxurious and, again, this is in contrast with my initial expectations my impression of the packaging which suggests to me a cheap and cheerful product. Although it's described as a 'sorbet' this is a rich, thick and indulgent cream which produces an adequate lather. A little goes a long way I find and this product goes even further if you dispense a small amount onto a shower puff.

      This is labelled as 'DOUBLE moisture shower cream and body wash': as it contains lime I expected it to be something I'd be more likely to use in the shower because I like to use products with fresh, vibrant scents to wake me up in the morning, but, actually, the creaminess and mild scent is something I now prefer to use in the bath where I prefer something more luxurious and mildly scented. To say this gives a double moisturising effect is a claim that is difficult to contest, all I can say is that my skin felt fine after use, soft and clean and fresh. There's a long list of ingredients on the back of the tube so I'd say that if you have a genuine medical issue with dry skin, this is not a product that is going to be useful to you.

      The RRP is £2.25 and I paid £1.50 from an independent discounter but it can be bought currently online from Fragrance Direct for £1.20 though, obviously, this will be increased by the delivery charge. I found this to be a pretty average product and although I found it pleasant and easy to use, there wasn't really anything that made it special enough to seek out again.

        A fantastic product from N-Spa

        ~~~~~
        N-Spa
        ~~~~~
        I never shop at Asda, as there isn't one convenient to where I live, but I recently decided to order some groceries from them online. This of course gave me a fantastic opportunity to try out some of their N-Spa products, which I have read lots of positive reviews about on here!

        I bought three different products, and the one I am reviewing here is the Tropical Lime and Coconut Cream Shower Sorbet. The product comes in a 225ml tube and on the N-Spa website costs £3.50, although I paid a very reasonable £2 from Asda - and there is no indication on their site that this is a sale or reduced price. And in fact at the time of typing (17 June 2012), this is for sale on the website for an amazing bargaintastic 50p! Time to stock up....

        This is part of a range of products from N-Spa that promise double moisture and to leave skin feeling silky soft so you don't need to moisturise afterwards. As well as the obvious ingredients, the product also contains pomegranate, green tea and cranberry. There are several different varieties available in this new shower sorbet range, including ruby orange and mango butter, Hawaiian ginger and sweet honey, pomegranate and buttermilk, and the deliciously odd sounding velvet plum and pannacotta!

        You can buy N-Spa products from Asda, both in-store and from their website, or from the N-Spa website at www.nspafruits.co.uk (although, as I mentioned above, these shower sorbets seem to be more expensive on this site).

        Hey good looking
        ~~~~~~~~~~~~
        This is a nice hefty tube which sits on its flip-top lid, and the packaging is quite modern and fun, with nice black, bold writing. You can see inside the tube that the shower cream is a pale minty green, and overall the packaging is very nice to look at, and it looks good on my shower shelf!
        When you squeeze the product out of the tube, the product is a kind of cross between a cream and a gel, and it has an almost sticky texture which is a little unusual. But don't let that put you off - as soon as you start applying this it begins to foam up, leaving you in a lovely lather. The foam that's produced is lovely and soft, and I was surprised how much lather a small amount of the product could produce - it was really lovely. But the main reason I bought this product was because I was intrigued by the fragrance. So does it pass the sniff test?
        ~~~~~~~~
        Super smell
        ~~~~~~~~
        Well, I love the scent of this product. It is fresh and zingy and I would say that the balance between coconut and lime is just right - there is definitely not one smell that overpowers the other. This gives the shower gel a nice fruity smell without being sickly - the coconut mellows the lime scent somewhat. It's a really nice summery fragrance, and would be a good one to chuck in your suitcase if you're off somewhere warm and sunny!
        Another thing I was impressed with was how soft my skin was after use. It really did feel soft and very well moisturised and I was really pleased with how effective it was. Although I find it impossible to break the habit of moisturising after my shower, I really do think this leaves your skin soft enough that you could skip this step as promised.
        ~~~~~~~~
        The verdict
        ~~~~~~~~
        Overall, for the price, I think this is a fab product and I will definitely be trying out others in the range - orange and mango next I think! But if you want to try one out make sure you buy from Asda and not from N-Spa's website, it will save you a few quid! And if you really want to try this out, snap it up now while it's only 50p!!!
        Advantages
        Disadvantages
        Could be better but kind to my skin and makes me feel really clean!
        When it comes to N-Spa products, over the years I have tried a fair few out and never honestly been all that impressed by them. However I was looking to buy shower gel/cream and this at the time was on offer in my local Asda store for £1.00 a tube instead of £2.00 and after taking a sniff of it instore and liking it I decided it had to be worth a go.
        The Packaging:
        The tube is see-through, squeezy plastic and with a flip top lid concealing a small hole to the bottom if it and then in black writing we are told on the front of it that it is N-Spa 'Fruit' Tropical Lime & Coconut Cream Shower Sorbet 'Double moisture shower cream & body wash' and that the size of it is 225ml (7. fl oz). On the back of the tube we are told a bit about the product and how to use it, warnings and ingredients are listed and we are told that once we have opened it to use it up within 24 months and contact details for Nirvana Spa (the manufacturer of the product) are listed. Nice simple and informative packaging this is.
        The Shower Sorbet Itself:
        Well the shower cream is a very light creamy green colour and not a gel but a creamy but thin consitency. It has a really hefty but natural fragrance of fresh, zingy limes to it and the coconut smell grounds the whole thing and sweetens it up a little and you can detect it as a bottom note sort of thing and in my opinion this is a very unisex product and I love it.
        This lathers up beautifully, releases the fragrance in use as beautifully and feels smooth and ungreasy in use as well. It rinses off easily too and leaves me smelling of this for about an hour, sadly though the inital strong fragrance of this doesn't linger on my skin for very long at all which is a shame as it really is a delightful smell.
        However this does gently keep my skin moisturised and feeling supple for a good few hours after using it, it doesn't agitate my sensitive skin one bit and a little of it goes a very long way indeed which means even at its usual selling price this is a good buy.
        I enjoy using it very much indeed as I simply adore the fragrance of it and I do think this makes my skin feel really clean and soft after using it but sadly none of the fragrance sticks about for very long which is a dire shame!
        Available from Asda stores or Google if interested!
