Being a bit of a beauty product addict, I always like to try out new things and vary the brands that I use. One of my most exciting discoveries in recent months has been finding online companies that provide beauty boxes. These usually contain various make-up, skin care, fragrance products etc, and I have been trying a few from different suppliers. I received a mini bottle of this Neom Real Luxury Organic Bath & Shower Oil in a previous delivery from Amarya. You can find further information at www.neomorganics.com, and www.amarya.co.uk. The full size product contains 100mls and the RRP is £32.00.
Product description: "Perfect for pampering & me time, also gently relaxing and an ideal gift - we've never heard of anyone who doesn't like this scent! Real Luxury - Lavender, Jasmine & Brazilian Rosewood. Known as the 'cashmere blanket' of our scent library, Real Luxury is a sophisticated but light and calming scent. The most precious Jasmine is combined with a little French lavender and the soothing, spicy tones of Brazilian Rosewood."
I received a small 5ml bottle of this bath oil, but the full size contains 100mls and comes in a gorgeous looking glass bottle. It looks impressive and certainly has a luxury appearance. The oil itself has a light golden colour and flowed freely from the bottle. I wanted a relaxing bath last night so decided to treat myself to using this bath oil, and poured in the whole 5ml amount. The oil dispersed easily into the water as the taps were running and seemed to mix in to the bathwater rather than just floating on top of the water as you might expect. I really like using bubble products when I have a bath, so the plain looking bathwater didn't seem particularly inviting, but the oil gave off a really stong fragrance which prepared me for a nice relaxing soak in the bath.
The fragrance of this oil comes across very strongly and filled my whole bathroom. The product contains 30% essential oils which gives off a wonderful aroma and produces a noticeable aromatherapy effect. The Real Luxury fragrance is made up of lavender, jasmine and rosewood. I thought that the lavender notes came through most strongly, with the rosewood adding depth and clarity to the fragrance. I couldn't pick out any of the sensual jasmine fragrance, but I did like the overall scent which was like a very fresh and natural lavender scent - none of this fake powdery lavender scent that old ladies seem to like so much! Breathing this in while I was bathing, I felt my mind and body start to relax and it really helped me to unwind after the hectic rush of the past few days and seasonal stresses! I felt much calmer and balanced after my bath and this effect left me feeling restored, ready for a nice relaxing evening to follow.
Despite having to bathe without bubbles, I felt like this bath oil gave a real luxurious treatment. Once I settled into the bath the oil seemed to coat my skin and I felt it getting to work on my dry, tired skin straight away. After soaking in the bath water my skin felt soothed, softened and moisturised. Once I had dried off I applied a little body lotion to the usual problem areas of my knees and elbows, but the rest of my skin did not require any extra moisturising product at all. The fragrance from the oil stayed on my skin for a while afterwards so I coule continue experiencing the relaxing effect that the scent provided. The next day I noticed that my skin still felt incredibly smooth and I was happy that the moisturising effect seemed to be long lasting.
The only down side to this product is the price. At £32.00 for 100mls this is a lot more than I would ever usually splash out for on a bath product. That said, a 5ml amount was perfectly adequate for a rich, relaxing and moisturising bath. So, using this amount each time would mean that it works out as costing £1.60 for each use, which seems a bit more reasonable and is cheaper than the Lush bath products that I like to use. I would be strongly tempted to treat myself to this Neom Organic Bath Oil every now and again when I feel like a splurge.
