      A truly luxurious bathing product

Being a bit of a beauty product addict, I always like to try out new things and vary the brands that I use. I received a miniature bottle of Neom bath oil in a beauty box package, and after enjoying the experience so much I decided to buy a full size version of this Tranquillity Calming Organic Bath & Shower Oil. You can find further information at www.neomorganics.com, and I purchased mine from www.amarya.co.uk. A 100ml bottle costs RRP £32.00.

Product description: "NEOM Luxury Organics bath oils are made using only the finest ingredients and are free from any synthetic products. As with the cult NEOM Luxury Organics candles the essential oil content is incredibly high (30%) so a little really does go a long way. Tranquillity: English Lavender with Sweet Basil & Jasmine. Unmistakable lavender, but with a fresh twist. English lavender is typically a little cleaner smelling than French and coupled with a clean Basil and a pretty jasmine this is a heavenly relaxing scent."

I love the appearance and presentation of this bath oil; everything about it is elegant, sophisticated and luxurious. The outer packaging is a textured cardboard box with an embossed logo and basic product details. Inside the box is the most beautiful glass bottle which widens out towards the top to form a slight hexagonal shape. It is topped off with a shiny silver lid which also doubles as a handy measure when you are pouring out the oil for your bath. The oil itself has a rich golden colour that can easily be seen through the clear glass, so it's convenient to see at a quick glance how much of the product is remaining inside.

Recommended directions for use: This product is best used by placing one to two capfuls in your bath, slipping in for a deep relaxing and luxurious experience. Alternatively apply a similar amount to the body before showering.

The oil disperses easily into the water as the taps are running, and mixes in well rather than just pooling on top of the water as you might expect. The bath oil gives off a really strong fragrance which fills the bathroom almost immediately and makes the bath very inviting. The scent is strong enough to last for up to a day afterwards which is a nice bonus as it keeps my bathroom smelling wonderful! The oil itself is made up of 70% certified organic ingredients and 30% pure essential oils. I like to use natural and organic beauty products as they seem to be better quality and I don't have to worry about adding more chemicals into my body. Because of the high content of essential oils this gives off a really powerful aroma and produces a noticeable aromatherapy effect. The Tranquillity fragrance consists of a combination of lavender, basil and jasmine essential oils. I thought that the classic lavender notes came through most strongly, with the basil providing a fresh, uplifting tone. I couldn't pick out any of the jasmine fragrance, which is a shame as this usually gives off a nice sweet and shot floral note, but the overall fragrance comes across as very natural and genuine, and you can tell that it uses high quality ingredients to give off such a good effect. I like to take some time to unwind and fully relax when I use this bath oil, and make sure to take enough time to appreciate it properly. I usually just lay there and soak for up to 20 minutes, breathing in the essential oils and allowing them to help me unwind, while at the same time my skin soaks up the oil and it really gets to work to provide some intensive hydration. I always feel much calmer with my sanity mostly restored after my little bathing ritual, and this is a lovely product to use when I feel like I need to treat myself to some "me time".

You could use one or two capfuls of oil, depending on preference and requirements. I have fairly normal skin on my body, mostly ok with a few tricky dry patches in the problem areas. One capful of oil suffices to give a moisturising bath and my skin always feels in much better condition afterwards. If I really want to give my skin a treat then I use two capfuls of oil, which is extremely nourishing and makes my skin look glowing and healthy. I am left with a slight oily feeling over my skin afterwards, but this helps to keep my skin hydrated and is not unpleasant or sticky. Using this oil gives long lasting results, and both the scent and the moisturising effect have excellent staying power. The only negative thing I can say about this bath oil is that it can cause problems when I am shaving in the bath, as the oil causes the razor blades to get clogged up and it makes it practically impossible to get rid of the hair. However, this is easily avoided by simply not shaving when I use oils in the bath, so not a big deal, it just means that I have to plan my bathing routine and consider what products I need to use before I start to bathe.

This product is a true luxury and it makes a very worthy treat purchase. I tend to reserve my bath oils for full-on pampering bath times when I want to soak and relax and enjoy the lovely aromatherapy effects, so it has lasted me for some time and you get a good number of baths out of the 100ml bottle. The Tranquillity scent is very relaxing and just what I need to calm my nerves and restore normality in times of stress! I would happily buy this again and think it would be a lovely gift for anyone who likes fancy bath goodies.
