Ack! I used this product for 2 and a half months and for the first month and a half I had no side effects, even got another bottle for when I ran out! But things took a huge turn for the worse right after that.
It over dries my skin completley I learned, I have eczema all over my body where I used it. I do mean EVERYWHERE. Chest, back, neck, armpits, torso, groin area... it's awful and it itches like crazy! It took me a while to learn what was causing it but I finaly did. It started with just 3 small spots on my torso which grew and grew. I thought I was getting zits there so I washed even more furiously, and I started getting them everywhere.
Well needless to say at this point I figured it was something else (since the patches were dry and itchy) and the doctor said it could be shingles (which I've had before and it did resemble a LOT, but it could be eczema) so after taking some anti-virals, I learned it wasn't shingles! Bam eczema, which I've never had before in my life.
Truley terrible, so I stopped using the wash and I'll see what happens, thing is I'm 99% positive it's what caused it, it's the only thing I've changed in the last couple months and I have a habit of not washing my legs as much (which is the only place on my body, aside from my face which I use a cleanser for which doesn't have it!).
So didn't work for me, in fact it made things a lot worse, but I think I have sensitive skin (my knuckles are even dry and flaking :( ) Ughhh this horribley itching needs to stop!
If, like many people, you suffer from adult acne or are going through puberty, you can (and probably will) try out all sorts of diets, potions and creams from both the high street and the doctors. Don't bother. Just go straight for Neutrogena body clear body wash. It starts working within a couple of weeks and then you'll definately notice a difference. You'll never have to hide behind long sleeved high neck garments again. Its only down side is the price, but it is worth it. I'm 24 and suffer from adult acne. I have been using this product for years now (combined with Dianette pill - see your doctor girls)and I wouldn't give it up for anything! Don't over use it though. You dont wanna replace spotty skin with dry flaky skin.
I have always been blessed with perfect skin. Throughout puberty I was very fortunate not to get spots ever!!! And that is God honest truth. Boy am I paying now! Even throughout my pregnancy with Zach, my skin was fantastic but since then, boy oh boy!! My friends say it serves me right when I used to tease them as teenagers. You could guarantee when we were due to go out for a disco or something, one or more of them would have a zit breakout! In the last couple of years I have been getting really bad spots on my forehead but especially on my shoulders and chest. I don?t mean little spots I mean great craters that glow bright purple!!! Although the oil levels in my skin seem to reach a high at certain times of the month, my skin is generally quite dry and sensitive so finding a product that did all the jobs required was quite hard! I was recommended to try Neutrogena. I have heard of their moisturisers so thought I would give them a go. They have a specific product for the body areas such as the chest, back and other areas. The Neutrogena Visible Clear Body Wash costs around £4.99 at Boots for 250ml which for some is quite expensive. I thought it was worth a try as summer was approaching and I didn?t want a spotty bod in vest tops!! The body wash comes in an orange bottle. There is little attractive about the packaging. You just have to trust the reputation of the company. The actual gel itself is orangey coloured too. Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately there is no scent to the body wash. There is a slight medicinal and even tinny smell to the wash. I suppose the more coloured and fragranced the product, the harsher on the skin!?! The body wash does contains extracts of chamomile and aloe vera which are re-knowned for their kindness to the skin. They help to soften and
referesh the skin. The bottle, like most products states that if irritation occurs, you should discontinue use. As it seems more clinical than the average body wash, you tend to take more notice! On the first usage I did tend to use quite sparingly as I do have mildly sensitive skin. I did feel a slight tingling sensation and me being me did not discontinue use. I just continued to use sparingly! Although my skin felt a little hot after usage, I persisted and the heat did die down. After a few uses, I seemed to become accustomed and it did not cause any irritation. I used a little bit on a sponge and it seemed to go a lon way. The gel is quite runny too be careful when you pour it! Also, as the gel is not fragranced you are not left smelling chemically! You can always just use a bit of smelly body lotion or even just use a bit of a scented shower gel but I think this may defeat the object a little. After a couple of weeks the blemishes did begin to clear up. My skin was slightly dry but I used a good moisturizer and I had no problems. I do not use Neutrogena in every shower as I would suffer . For worser skins I can imagine it being very successful! Just listen to the warnings of your body! If it is uncomfortable to use, STOP!!! The product costing just under a fiver is ideal for me as a bottle lasts me months! The small amount I use well makes up for the price. As it specifically specifies for use on oily and spot prone skin, do not be tempted to use on your face if not needed! It may flake off!! Regular use of the Neutrogena Visible Clear Body Wash will control and reduce spots and blemishes. Use as often or as little as required to control your personal breakout. If your skin is not at all sensitive then this product will be perfect for you. But,
like I said listen to your body! Thank you reading and hope this was useful to you! Kerry xx
I bought this produc after using the clear pore refined facial wash whcih i was really impressed by, ( see my review) this product contains salyic acid which helps prevent and reduce spots, i have suffered from acne and was also prone to breakouts around my shoulders and upper back. Since i started using this product that has not been the case, the breakouts have gone and my back now has a clear appearnce. This product is anotrher great proiduyct by neutrogena and i would recommend any of their skincare products to any one, the product also comes in an easy to use conatiner that which allows you to kno when it is nearly empty, my only concern is that the product can run out quite quickly, but i think that is becasue i can shower up to 3 times a day! so what i do is just use it once or twice a day and use anoither shower gel the ithers times. Once again if you suffer from a spotty back/body this product will help
I used to suffer from really bad spot outbreaks on my chest and especially my back. After seeing the advert on TV, I decided why not, I had tried everything else and nothing else had worked. Although expensive, it does last for about 3-4 weeks. It doesnt have immediate results, but you will see that after 1 week, your spot outbreaks are reduced and by the end of the month they are near to a very few. One problem is that once you stop using it, the spot outbreaks you havent had for a while come back, but not as bad as before. Your skin feels alot smoother and softer, I have used it with and without a body puff. Used with the body puff, you get much better results than without it, and it speeds up the time the outbreaks are reduced. This is the same for most of the Neutrogena products. I found it didnt dry your skin out but kept it feeling more hydrated than most of the other shower gels out there. Once youve used this for a month, you will notice the difference it has made to your skin, blackheads start to go, outbreaks are reduced and your skin feels much smoother. If you go back to your normal shower gel, you will notice the difference within a week.
Ive been using Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash for 4 weeks now. I dont have particularly bad skin, but I am prone to a slighly spotty back (yuck!) so I am testing this to see its effectiveness. So far I havent had any outbreaks on my skin since using it - although it doesnt seem to have improved my skin on my back that much. This said however I think I need to give it longer that 1 month. When used with a puff ball - this is an excellent body wash. It foams up brilliantly and really does leave your skin feeling clear and clean. It isnt oily or at all harsh (as I have found some of Nuetrogena's Shampoos to be). And it isnt fragranced and is dermatologically tested - I prefer this as my skin is usually sensitive to alot of shower gels. It is quite expensive £5, but I am only half way through and use it everyday - so it should last you a couple of months. It also is not a drying wash - there is nothing worse than feeling your skin tighten after a shower- this wash leaves it feeling moisturised. All in all - worth a shot and I'll keep you updated on it spot vaporising effects! Oh and it isnt designed for use on your face - whether this is a ploy to spend more money on a face wash or whether it will irrate your face I am not sure! - but I don't use it on my face.
