      a lovely little shower gel

I love to use all different products in both my showers and baths - whilst shopping for these products it is firstly scent that sways me and then price.

The other week in Asda I noticed their N-Spa range of shower products and one really caught my eye, a beautiful mint green product within a see through plastic bottle.

This particular product was a dinky 100ml bottle of apple mint crunch shower and bath gel.

The shower gel is a stunning mint green colour and smells delightfully refreshing. It has a dominating smell of mint which is soon mellowed out by the sweet fruityness of the apple. The two scents work extremely well together - especially for a showering experience. A refreshing mint shower mixed with a particularly calming and warming fruity apple scent. It feels very smooth on my skin, considerably thick to but it lathers up beautifully creating even more if it's wonderful scent.

This dinky little bottle cost me just £1 and has lasted me a few weeks, however I have been using another scent in this brand as well as they do smell absolutely delicious.

I have to mention I have quite sensitive skin in some places and this doesn't irritate my skin at all, instead after use, it leaves me feeling squeaky clean and smelling lush - well like mint and apples anyway!

2 in 1? much better as a shower gel

I recieved this in a set for my birthday. I have previously tried a few N-Spa products and had mixed reviews.
A bottle of this shower/bath gel costs £3.50 in Asda for 500ml, I have seen it for £2 when they are running a promotion.

I have said in other reviews for N-Spa bath gels that I have had a problem with the press button to dispense the gel and that I find it hard to get the product out of the bottle. This one however is different, it has a normal screw lid. The bottle is see through and you can see the creamy green liquid inside. Like other N-Spa products the gel has a little 'message' written on the front. It is not disimilar to Philosophy bath products.

You can use this gel in one of two ways, firstly as a shower gel by applying to wet skin using your hands or a sponge. Or you can use it as a bubble bath by pouring under running water. I use it as both.

When you open the bottle you get a strong smell of mint. I couldn't smell any apple at all, this was disappointing as apple is one of my favourite smells! When using this as a bubble bath I found I needed to use more than I normally would to get a decent amount of bubbles. I like to spend at least half and hour in the bath, and I found that by the time I had been in the bath 10 minutes most of the bubbles had gone.

On the plus side as a shower gel this is really good, I only needed a small amount to get a really decent lather on a sponge. When you apply this to your skin it makes it tingle and is really refreshing. After using this my skin felt clean and refreshed.

The smell of the mint filled the bathroom and lasted on my skin for most of the day.

I would buy this again but only if it is on offer, I don't think it worked particularly well as a bubble bath but it was a really nice shower gel!

      Too minty for me!

I recently bought a collection of N Spa (short for Nirvana Spa) shower and bath gels to enjoy as a treat to myself. I was attracted to the products because they are so brightly coloured and have unusual varieties and fragrances. This one is called 'Apple-Mint Crunch' and it can be identified by it's eye-poppingly bright turquoise green colouring.

I bought this product in a small transparent (recyclable) bottle which is stamped as being 'travel friendly' although you can actually buy larger bottles. The one I have is only a 100ml or 3.38 fl oz. sized bottle. Nevertheless it cost me £1 and this was on special offer so I do think they are quite an expensive product.

N Spa like to decorate their shower and bath gels with cute and mystic prose which brings to mind the idea behind the fragrance. In this case the front label on the bottle is printed with a whimsical story of a wise man who muses about the colour of mint and chocolate creams. Reading the text does actually make me smile a little and I like to read the bottles as I'm lying relaxing in warm water. I think the style of the packaging means these would make great gifts.

The bottle's label is also printed with directions for use. You can either put this gel direct onto your sponge or shower mitt or pour the gel into running water and fluff up the water to create bubbles. I would recommend the latter having used this once on my sponge I will never do so again! The reason why is because the gel has a cool, minty effect. It's like when you suck a breath mint and your mouth goes cold except it's your skin which goes cold. It's not just a sensation of being icy and refreshed either. My eyes actually began to sting and water with the minty fumes coming from the water so I would urge caution in deciding how much gel to use. The gel also gave an unpleasant stinging sensation to my sensitive skin areas and private parts! I would therefore advise just adding a teeny tiny bit of gel to your bath water rather than put a dollop on your sponge!

The gel actually smells entirely of mint to my nose (rather than being a mix of mint and apple) and it's not a weak fragrance at all. It's actually shockingly strong. It reminds me of when you first chew gum and it feels hot on your tongue and then your whole throat goes cold and numb. That's what this gel does to my body and my skin and I don't really like the sensation! It does make me feel clean and fresh but it leaves me with teary eyes and throbbing skin! I also have had to lower the temperature of my bath water to avoid having lots of steam which carries the minty force into my eyes!

Since first using this I've decided to just add a very small amount to my bath as I don't want to waste the product after purchasing it but I will not be buying it again.

        Disadvantages

An Alarm Clock for The Senses.

This is the second bath and shower gel that I have purchased from the Nspa range and I was really impressed with that one and for the purposes of reviewing I have decided that I should really try them..........Yes, that is my excuse and yes I am sticking to it.

        Packaging -

The Nspa products have a very simple and classic look and if you are familiar with the more expensive Philoshy brand you will notice that they are very, very similar although they are obviously different enough for Philosophy not to sue!

The bottle is a clear plastic which means that you can see the product inside and in this case it's a fabulous vivid mint green. The bottle itself is quite soft which makes it easier to squeeze the product out. Sometimes bottles like this are hard and it can take some strength to get the bottle out. My mum has arthritis and struggles with some bottles but she can mange this one fine.
The bottle has a flip top black lid and again this is easy to open and close.

        The Product -

I have used the product both as a bath gel and also as a shower gel and first I will review how I felt the product performed as a bath gel.
The first thing that I noticed when using this was the scent as I poured it under the running water and while the scent is described as Apple - Mint the mint is much more dominant and it's a very strong and full bodied scent, it is a refreshing scent and its great for clearing your head!, my hubby used it
When he had cold and was all bunged up and he said that it really cleared his nasal passages and that's down to the mint and while its not as strong as menthol it worked wonders for him.
I have be honest and say that I found that the scent was a little overpowering as a bath gel and I certainly would not use it before I go to bed.

This performed okay in the bubble factor stakes, I got a decent amount of bubbles with it although they did evaporate fairly quickly once you are in the bath.

I thought that this is where the product came into its own. I used it to wash and using only a small amount I was able to get a great lather going and it felt incredibly smooth and creamy when I rubbed it into my skin and again the scent was very strong but as you use it and it washes straight off the scent was just really refreshing rather than overpowering as it was as a bath gel.
After using it as both a bath and shower gel I didn't notice any drying of my skin and the product is highly moisturised so I was left with smooth, soft skin after using it.

I would definitely buy this one again, although I would only use it as a shower gel as I find that its to strong to use as a bath gel. If you struggle to wake up in the morning this is like an alarm clock for the senses.

I purchased my Nspa products from Asda and they often have them on offer, at the moment they have some of the creams and sprays on half price. The price range is approx £2.50 - £6.00.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Quite average for N Spa

About a month or so ago I went to ASDA with my sister and stocked up on lots of different Nspa products. I wanted to buy them in store, as when I order my shopping online they often bring substitutes, and plus going there in person meant that I got to sniff them all and see which ones I liked before buying.

One product I bought was the apple-mint crunch bath and shower gel. You could either get this in a full sized 500ml bottle or a 100ml travel sized version. I decided to get the travel size one as although I liked the scent, there were others that I liked more and so thought a small bottle would be fine.

The product is a bath and shower gel, so is dual purpose. You can either use it applied directly to the skin in the shower, or pour under running water for a bath full of bubbles. I like the fact it does two things, it makes it more economical and would be good for people with limited space in their bathrooms, having just one bottle instead of several.

The bath and shower gel comes packaged in a clear bottle through which you can see the bright green gel and the bottle has a black flip top lid and black writing. This is another product that has been designed very much in the style of the popular (but extremely expensive) Philosophy products. Whereas Philosophy print philosophies on the front of their packaging, Nspa have chosen to print nonsense...

'"What if apples had never grown on trees" said the wise man "would mint be crumbled and topped with cream instead, imagine if mint was not green, would chocolate creams be icy blue? Perhaps...but you would still be the apple of my eye..."'

Now some people have said they like these little phrases, but quite frankly I cringe at them. Maybe I'm just being miserable, or maybe I just don't get it, but come on, seriously, what the hell are they about? Does someone actually get paid to write them? Hmm...anyway onto the product...

So, the scent is 'apple-mint crunch' and the predominant fragrance would be the mint. It does however have a bit of a fruity kick to it which smells like apple. My sister agreed with me, that you can smell both the apple and the mint, and surprisingly they are two scents that work fairly well together.

I first tried this product as a bubble bath. I poured some of the green liquid under running water, and found that although it produced some bubbles, there weren't as many as I had expected. The next time I tried pouring a bit extra in, however again I found that this didn't create a huge amount of bubbles - there weren't even enough to cover the surface of the water which was a little disappointing really.

On a more positive note, the mint smell was quite strong and lingered the duration of the bath, and the few bubbles that were there also lasted until I got out of the bath, which is good as I'm one of those people who likes long soaks in the bath.

As a shower gel I found this worked much better, which seems to be an ongoing pattern with the Nspa products I've used so far. The smell really intensifies when it's used in this way, but strangely I think it smells mostly like mint and the apple smell seems to disappear. I think it actually smells a little bit like toothpaste in a way, I mean it's pleasant enough, just not my favourite scent ever. I'd say it was quite a unisex fragrance, and one thing you may wish to note is that despite being mint it doesn't make the skin tingle in the way that the Original Source products can.

I find that this lathers up quite well on its own, but even better if used with a shower puff. You don't need to use a huge amount at once, and the lather is quite thick and creamy - perfectly adequate if you want to use it to shave your legs.

I find it leaves my skin feeling quite soft, and it doesn't dry my skin out at all. I don't find that the scent stays on my skin though, although for me that's not a huge problem as I tend to use fragranced body lotions anyway and they cover the scent.

This product is available in either a 500ml bottle costing just £2.00, or you can get the smaller 100ml bottle for £1 which I'd say is fairly good value for money.

Overall I think this is a good product, but not great and certainly not the best one from the Nirvana Spa range. It works well as a shower gel but not so good as a bubble bath and the scent is pretty average. Still it's a nice enough product and fairly cheap for a large bottle and I would buy it again, but I don't think it would be my first choice.

NSPA Apple Mint Crunch Shower and Bath Gel .

I have had a lot of items from the N-spa rang and im very happy to say I have not gone wrong with any of them so far . I have just had the chance to try out the Apple Mint Crunch Shower and Bath Gel.

I love the smell of mint so I wanted to try this item out to see if It is as good as the others and I must say I did enjoy it a lot so im going to fill you in about the product .

This NSPA Apple Mint Crunch Shower and Bath Gel come in a 500 ml bottle . It is clear plastic and has a flip lid that clicks down to hold it in place. You can twist off the lid but you dont have to . The Apple Mint Crunch Shower and Bath Gel is a very nice green color. The gel it self is very thick and has a very strong smell of mint that stays on your skin for some time . If you put some of the gel in your bath as it is running your bath room will have a strong smell of mint as well but I dont think its to strong for most people.

the bottle it self has black writing on it that tells you about how to use the Apple Mint Crunch Shower and Bath Gel . Its always good to read about what you are using .

            The directions .
Apply to wet body, gently massage and rinse .. or pour into running water and create a bath filled with bubbles .

I dont thin that I will put down the ingredients as its to long and you can see it for your self if you want to try this item .

All the bottles in the range have a small saying on them and this is the one for this item .

What if apples had never grown on trees" said the wise man, "would mint be crumbled and toped with cream instead, imagine if mint was not green, would chocoletcreams be icy blue? Phrhaps ...but you would still be the apple of my eye"

I dont understand most of the sayings but I like to read them any way .

I have had a lot of time to test out items from N-spa and I want to keep trying them and get other people to try them as well .

            Thanks for reading .

            Dave .

Does leave you tangoed, opps sorry Minted.

N SPA Apple -Mint crunch Shower and bath Gel.

I must admit that I have received quite a few products from the N SPA range as pressies for Christmas, and as I am slowly working my way through them I decided to give this one a go.

This product comes in a 500mls bottle, it is contained in a plastic looking clear bottle, so you are able to see the product showing through the bottle. The name sounds more like a lush product, but then I sometimes think that they are kinda similiar with their names anyway.

I do like the N SPA range and they are products that are quite reasonably priced, and they do have nice sounding names and descriptions, look good, smell great and do always emphacise on the fact that by using this product you can turn your bathroom into a blissfull spa.

              Directions :

Apply to your wet body obviously if you are going to use this as a shower gel which it can be used for, it should be gently massaged into your skin as with any other shower gel then you rinse.

When using in the bath, just pour into running water when filling up your bath, up to you how much or how little you use because it will produce a lot of bubbles, and I mean a lot. My bathroom is looking like a bubble factory.

It suprising tells you not to eat this product, I guess it is because of the edible sounding name it has Apple-Mint Crunch, although my mind boggles as to where they get the crunch name from.

So ive tried this in the shower and it works just as well as any other shower gel, in the bath once i could get into it with a whole bathroom looking somewhat like a mound of candy floss, it works well too. It didnt do marvelous things to my skin, but I did embark from my bathroom feeling fresh and clean.

Now the Smell, well considering it states that it is Apple-Mint Crunch, I could barely smell Apples, although the colour of the liquid is green like an apple, guess thats what they meant, but it does smell somewhat like a chewing gum, or mint toothpaste.

It has a strange quote on the front of the bottle, so I wanted to share this with you " What if Apples had never grown on trees," said the wise man, "would mint be crumbled and topped with cream instead, imagine if mint was not green, would chocolate creams be icy blue? Perhaps you would still be the apple of my eye". This is strange but is written on the front of the bottle, make sense to it if you can lol.

This is not a bad shower gel, and gives you great bubbles if you like loads of bubbles, or if like me you just poured in some whilst your bath was running them came back to a hudge mount of bubbles, funny but true.

Well I will be rating this with four stars just because of the lack of smell of apples, the colour was kind of there, and it does leave you feeling nice and fresh and minty clean so I guess its worth the rating.

Thanks for reading and rating my reviews.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

A mint choc smelling bath foam more suited for the men

Loving bath time as it is really the only time I get peace and quiet I have a thing for nice bath foams and I am always on the look out for then. This was my latest find as it looked and sounded lovely.

                ~~THE BOTTLE~~

The bath foam comes in a clear plastic cylindrical bottle which is ideal as it allows me to see how much I have left of the product. The top of the bottle has a black flip lid which makes for easy opening and pouring and does keep the bottle clean. The front of the bottle has a label which has the product name at the top and the n-spa Fruits logo at the bottom. In the middle of the label is a lovely short paragraph which reads as follow:-

'What if apples had never grown on trees' said the wise man, 'Would mint be crumbled and topped with cream instead. Imagine if mint was not green, would chocolate creams be icy blue? Perhaps... but would you still be the apple of my eye?'

I do like this paragraph as it does give me something to think about whilst I am taking a nice long relaxing soak!

The back of the bottle also has a label which ahs all the product info and ingredients.

                ~~USE AND RESULTS~~

I use this as a bath foam as I am not a shower lover. For me I like to squeeze and rather large amount out under the running tap. The bath foam is a nice think consistency which does kind of remind me of thick hair conditioner. I think this would be a bonus when using this as a shower gel as there is less chance of it running all off your hands when using it.

The bath foam does make a nice good amount of bubbles which for me is the best bit. The smell from this foam is supposed to be apple mint but for me I just cannot smell the apples. It remind me more of mint chocolate and I have to say I slightly disappointed by this smell. The smell is very apparent from the minute you lift the flip lid and does remain whilst you are soaking in the bath. I did notice that this one did not leave a smell on my skin after I had got out of the water and dried off. This was no great loss for me as I was not to keen on the smell anyway.

When using this as a shower gel, which I did get hubby to test, it does leave the skin nice and soft and the smell is a little more apparent on the skin after finishing and drying off. There was no bad effects from using this on his sensitive skin which is a bonus.

I would say that this bath and shower gel is more suited to men as the smell is quite masculine in my eyes.

                ~~INFO~~

The bath and shower gel comes in a good sized bottle which contains 16.9 fl. oz. It is a green colour. The bottle does last me over 2 months as I do have rather a lot of other ones on the go at the same time but I would estimate that using this on a daily basic with a generous amount would see you getting about 2-3 weeks of use which I feel is a reasonable amount of time.

The ingredients of the product for those who wish to know are:-

Aqua, Sodium, Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Bethaine, Cocamide DEA, Sodium Chloride, Glycerine, Parfum, Styrene/Acrylates, Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Glycol Distearate, Citric Acid, Cocamide MEA,Polyquaternium-7, Laureth-10, Magnesium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Limonene, Trideceth-7, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Magnesium Nirtate, Methylisothiazolinone, Denatonium Benzoate, Methylparaben, Methylisothiazolinone,Propylparaben, CI 42053, CI 47005.

It is recommended that this bath and shower gel is used within 36 months of the first opening.

                ~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~

I bought my bottle from Tesco and paid £2.98 which felt to be a good price. It is available from other supermarkets and Asda do occasionally have this and others in the range on an offer with 2 bottles for £5.

                ~~OVERALL~~

Overall I have to say that I was slightly disappointed with this bath and shower gel as there was no apparent smell of apples in it. I will recommend it if you like the smell of mint chocolate and advise that this is more suited to the men folk.
