      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A satisfactory sweet creamy vanilla body scrub from N-Spa that won't break the bank but not super

I'm a regular false tan wearer and part of wearing false tanning products means regularly exfoliating. I use many different body scrubs and have two particular favourites however both products are in the mid- higher price range. As I had been using many N-Spa bath products I decided to try the N-Spa range of body scrubs as when browsing the supermarket shelves I noticed not only did they have delicious sounding scents they were also very good value. So I opted to try the N-SPA Vanilla Creme Brulee Body Scrub.

*** N-SPA Vanilla Creme Brulee Body Scrub***
The description on the tube of the Crème Brulee Body Scrub is 'If,' said the wise man, 'the sea was vanilla, might the owl and the pussycat have changed there minds and sat instead on caramel coated sands with waves topped with cream... life would be simple, rich and fulfilled. Shall we go there one day?'

The product is not tested on animals.

The body scrub comes in a clear plastic 225ml tube. You can see the creamy white scrub inside of the bottle. The base of the bottle has a black flip top lid so the tube stands on this lid when not in use.

The product is available from Asda and direct from the N-Spa website. A 225ml tube of this body scrub costs £2.00 from Asda which I think is very good value for money compared with other body scrub products, especially as the two products I usually use are £7 or £15 a bottle.

      ***Application and Results ***
To apply to skin you should apply a small blob to wet skin whilst showering or bathing and rub into your skin. I always do this whilst showing but in order for this to be effective you should not stand directly under the water as this will wash the product away. Whilst rubbing into skin you can do this with a body cloth but I find it is more effective when doing this with any scrub product to use body mitts. The N-SPA Vanilla Creme Brulee Body Scrub is not as thick in consistency as other body scrub products I have previously used but it is not so runny that it slips of your hand. When squeezed into my hand I could immediately smell the sweet vanilla scent which was very pleasant and rich but also very sickly as this is such a creamy scent especially when mixed with warm steamy air in the shower. The scrub is a yellowy creamy colour with a number of black beads in. I do think compared with other body scrub products there are less beads in the N-Spa product. When I do a full body scrub I probably use 3-4 50p sized blobs. I do find that the body scrub creates a lot of lather but because there are not so many beads in the liquid I tend to use quite a lot of this product. When using this product 3-4 times a week in the shower I used a 225ml tube within 3 weeks.

As you scrub the N-Spa product into your skin it feels very smooth and probably not as abrasive as other body scrubs. I felt my skin was being exfoliated but on the particularly dry areas of skin I felt I had to rub quite hard. After use skin does not feel irritated or sore.

Once I had dried myself off in the shower my skin did not have a tingly sensation it usually gets after exfoliating but it did feel quite smooth. My arms in particular had a lovely soft silky smooth feel to them. I could also still smell the rich vanilla scent on my skin.

Although the majority of my skin felt smooth, the particularly dry areas of my body (knees, elbows and feet) still felt quite rough and there was still dry skin. Therefore I do not feel the N-SPA Vanilla Creme Brulee Body Scrub is suited to those with dry skin and more for people with normal skin types. I tend to use a body scrub no more than twice a week however with this product in order to get rid of the dry patches of skin I had to use 3-4 times per week. Although the product is good value at £2.00 a bottle it is not so economical when I have to use more regularly than other exfoliator products.

      ***Overall***
This is definitely not the best body scrub I have used however the results were satisfactory and although I would not buy again I would not say I was disappointed with the results. The scrub has a sweet creamy rich vanilla scent which is very sweet albeit a little sweet for my personal taste especially as the scent lasts on skin long after using. I found the exfoliating properties of the scrub reasonably good and the majority of my body felt moisturised and smooth.

However on particularly dry patches of skin on my ankles and knees the skin felt a little dry therefore I would probably only recommend this product to those that do not suffer particularly dry skin.

A value for money product at £2.00 a bottle that is satisfactory but not quite super!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A great vanilla scented body scrub from the N-spa range

I do now have a vast collection of bath products and body washes as for me bath times is one of the best times of the day as I get to have some me time and peace and quiet. Santa this year decided he would add to my collection for me and the first new product I got was the Vanilla Crème Brulee body scrub.

        ~~PACKAGING~~

The body scrub comes in a clear plastic tube. On the front there is the N Spa logo and the product name. The back of the bottle has a product ingredients and directions for use. The bottom of the tube has a black plastic flip lid which is very simple to use.

As with all the N-Spa products there is a wonderful saying on the front of the bottle and reading these always gives me a little comfort. The one on this body wash reads:-

'If,' said the wise man, 'the sea was vanilla, might the owl and the pussycat have changed there minds and sat instead on caramel coated sands with waves topped with cream... life would be simple, rich and fulfilled. Shall we go there one day?'

        ~~USE AND RESULTS~~

If really is very simple to user the body scrub, this can either be done in the shower or bath. The body scrub needs to be squeezed either into the hands or onto a wash cloth and then massaged into the body. The liquid makes a good lather and a little goes a long way. The liquid is a good consistency so it is not overly thick and hard to lather or too runny so it runs off your hands.

The liquid is a light orange colour and has noticeable black beads n it. You can feel these on your skin when massaging the liquid in and it does feel refreshing as it means it is removing the dirty from deep in the pores. When I had washed my body with this scrub I really did feel fresh and completely clean. Once I had got dry then my skin looked clean and moisturised. I had no dry skin patches from using this and was very happy with the results that I got.

When you flip open the cap on the tube you can immediately smell the vanilla fragrance. This gets strong once it is lathered up and lasts for a good amount of time. Once I had washed my body with it and dried off I was still able to faintly smell the vanilla on my skin and it was very pleasant. I have used this in the bath along with the Van8lla Crème brulee bath foam and even when using the two products together the smell is not over powering and they do compliment each other very well.

I have asked hubby to test this product out a few times when showering as he has sensitive skin and I am happy to report that he has had no reactions to it and he too has been left with soft and fresh skin.

        ~~INFO~~

The tube size is 225ml and for me this lasts for about 2 months as I have so many other products on the go at the same time. The shelf life of the body scrub is 36 months once it has been opened.

The product ingredients for those wishing to know are:-

Aqua, Silica, Paraffinum Liquidum, Petrolatum, Cetaryl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearaqte SE, Stearic Acid, Phenixyethanol, Perfum, Sodium Carbomer, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparben, Sodium Hydroxide, Caramel, Denatonium Benzoate, Citric Acid, CI 77499, CI 15985

There is a warning with this body scrub and that this product must not be consumed. The packaging can be recycled. Unfortunately I can not find any indication as to whether this has been produced with animal testing or not.

        ~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~

The N-Spa products are available from both Asda and Tesco. I was bought this as a gift so do not know what the price was but they are usually priced around the £2.50-£3 mark which I feel is a great price as they do last.

        ~~RECOMMENDED?~~

Yes. I am more than happy to give this body scrub the full 5 stars. The smell is wonderful and it leaves my skin clear fresh and moisturised. It also works well with the bath foam of the same fragrance. One for all to try.
