I really like the Original source shower gels so when I spotted a bottle of Original Source Almond and coconut bath foam for just £1 in my local Tesco, I decided to give it a try.
Original Source makes a range of products including shower gels, shampoos and deodorants. They only use pure and natural essential oils or natural extracts and they are a member of both the Aromatherapy council and the Vegan society. On their web site the company says they source as much as possible from the U.K. Original source have a very clever marketing strategy, advertising their products as environmentally friendly .natural products.
Original Source Almond and coconut bath foam comes in a rather plain looking 500ml plastic bottle. The bath foam is a sort of beige colour and doesn't really look that appealing to be honest! The bottle has a screw top that doubles as a measuring cup. The writing on the bottle is meant to be witty and tells you that your skin is in need of a drink but warns you not to drink the liquid yourself! The information on the bottle also tells you that Original Source bath foam can be used as a shower gel too.
On opening the lid there is no obvious scent of either almonds or coconut which was a bit disappointing. The bath foam is thick and you really only need a capful to produce lots of lovely bubbles so full marks here! I like to soak for ages in the bath usually with some candles and a glass of wine. I had thought that once the bath was run there would be some scent. However I am sorry to say this was not the case. I like a nice scented bath so this was a real letdown for me.
After my bath I my skin felt very soft and smooth so a thumbs up here! This bath foam contains Almond oil that is known to help nourish and revive the skin and coconut oil, a good moisturiser.
Original Source bath foam is available from many supermarkets and usually costs around £1.99 for a 500 ml bottle. Overall I would recommend this bath foam although I would have preferred it if the scent of coconut and almond that been more obvious.
I like Original Source products, they come in wonderful fruity fragrances are good quality and smell wonderful. The only downside is they do tend to be a bit more expensive than some of the other products on the market but are lovely as a treat. I couldn't resist trying some new products when I saw the Original Source Almond and Coconut Bath Milk on sale in Tesco for 2 for £3 instead of the usual £1.91.
I had used one of the Original Source Bath Foams before so was keen to see how the bath milk compared.
The product comes in a milk bottle shaped plastic bottle (different style to the one pictured above) with a black screw top lid. The food/drink theme continues with a 'serving suggestion' to get "instant nourishment mix into a warm sit back and soak in!" and that it is 'best before' your skin goes on hunger strike. It does however say in capital letters underneath that you should not drink this product! The product is not tested on animals and is vegan approved. The bottle holds 500ml.
Opening the lid of the bottle and taking a sniff the bath milk smells rather sweet and sickly and a bit overpowering. There is a mixture of almond and coconut with the almond being the strongest scent. I was a bit worried after smelling it what this was going to be like. Adding the product to running hot water it foams up really well and is nice and creamy and gives lots and lots of bubbles. I needn't have worried about the scent as once you add it to the water the smell becomes more delicate and a nice almond aroma fills the bathroom. The smell is nice, sweet but certainly not overpowering. The bubbles are long lasting and are still there when I get out of the bath.
This is a really nice bath milk which smells nice and gives you lots of lovely bubbles. It is a bath product I would buy again but probably only if it was on special offer as then it is much better value for money.
