Original Source Almond and Coconut Bath Milk
Original Source clearly state on their website:
"We are a member of the Aromatherapy Trade Council and also work closely with the Vegan Society. Our products contain either pure and natural essential oils or natural extracts. We're not big fans of flying our products in from here, there and everywhere, so we source and produce as much as we can in the UK. After all, it's nice here."
Although I do love many bath and shower products from Soap and glory, through to Lush I do find the more available products such as Original Source to be very good and so often pick these up, after doing the sniff test, when I am doing the grocery shopping.
Once again this is a clear plastic recyclable bottle but this is a more traditional bottle shape , like the old fashioned milk bottles with a larger base so that it stands securely on the bath side or shower stand. The product is a creamy yellowing honey coloured liquid that shows through the bottle. On the front of the bottle is the name - brand Original Source and Almomd and Coconut Nourishing in black but the Bath Milk is in a paler browny colour. Also on the front is the rather different way of promoting its use; "Serving suggestion; For an instant nourishment mix into a warm bath sit back and soak in! BEST BEFORE Your skin goes on hunger strike PLEASE DO NOT DRINK". Well, there may be some incredibly stupid people out there but I wouldn't have thought that was necessary but probably a sort of tongue in cheek quip.
The lid is a black screw top lid which you have to unscrew off to use. This is probably not possible with one hand so that is why it is a bath milk rather than for use in a shower. The liquid is a little thinner than some shower creams but this is a bath milk and is thicker than milk more like the consistency of single cream and is a lovely creamy bath/shower creamy milk. you pour out from the bottle as you do you can smell the creamy almond smell. In my view the smell of coconut is not as obvious ait is definitely the almond that is so strong. It smells like a creamy amaretto liqueur. Yes just like Amaretto liqueur, I must remember not to drink it!
Original Source state that they use natural ingredients and do not test on animals looking at the list on the bottle I can see both coconut and almond but also basil oil which I could not detect in my smelling.
What are the benefits of coconut and almond in this bath milk? Both of these are well known for their moisturizing properties.
Almond oil is known to be beneficial to the skin in these ways as it helps Improves complexion and retains its glow , moisturises better and deeper ,soothes skin irritation and inflammation ,delays ageing process ,lightens dark circles ,relieves dry and itching skin ,nourishes the skin helping to makes it smooth and soft and it also helps chapped lips and body rashes.
Coconut oil has been found to heal cuts, scratches, burns and sunburns. The oil has also been recommended for facial massage and is reportedly good at smoothing wrinkles.Coconut oil is also good for the scalp and hair and is used by Africans and West Indians to nourish their very dry hair.
So into the shower or in my case the bath:
I very rarely have showers as I do love a good soak in the bath. I tend to use all my bath/shower products in the same way as most people use shower gels. I pour a little of the liquid into my hands and apply all over with my hand ,flannel or nylon scrubby thing until I am well scrubbed then I lie back and enjoy the aroma and feeling of luxury in my lovely warm bath.
The smell of creamy almond is quite powerful as I luxuriate in my bath but the smell does not linger on my skin. After I have bathed and dried myself I feel that my skin is well fed and moisturized. I have been using this on and off for a while now and have had no unpleasant reaction despite suffering from eczema and dry skin sometimes. I do still moisturize with a lotion but I don't have that tight dry feeling that you get after using soap sometimes.
A niggly bit:
Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is listed in the ingredients on this bottle and indeed you will find this in almost all products that produce foam. This is a controversial substance, which has been linked with carcinogens and is avoided by those who prefer natural products. This does not go with the natural claims of this product but I do know it is actually pretty difficult to find any bubble bath that doesn't contain it. However if you are one of those who really strongly believes in totally natural products then this may put you off.

This is lovely creamy bath milk that is a reasonable price. It was well under £2 I know. If you don't like the smell of almonds then I would avoid this as the smell is quite strong, very much like taking a big sniff of amaretto liqueur. It is a moisturizing bath product that I really like but I do have to be in the right mood as it has got such a strong smell.
Thanks for reading. This review may be posted on other sites under my same user name.
