Original Source Mint and Tea Tree Shower Gel
As many of you know from reading past reviews I have written, I come from The Hague in the Netherlands and there are a lot of products from the UK that I cannot pick up here in Holland. There are of course many items that I can but some of them are from specialist shops that sell UK products and they can be really expensive.
Original Source Mint and Tea Tree Oil is a product that I can get a hold of and at about four Euros (roughly three pounds and forty pence) it is neither too expensive nor very cheap. It comes in 250ml and 500ml bottles. I usually buy the 250ml as the 500ml is usually way over-priced.
What I will say for it though is the fact that I think it is worth every penny.
From the moment you open the gel in the shower the smell just hits you and livens up the bathroom. It is so fresh and the mint really comes through. You only need to squeeze a small amount into your palm and it lathers up really well. I usually use two small squeezes to get two overall body washes.
It has a lovely calming effect and is perfect for those stuffy summer days or steaming hot bathrooms. The mint gives it that breathable quality that is almost like a balm or a Vicks vapour rub. The bathroom smells wonderful afterwards and so does your skin. Source do claim that the mint leaves are used in herbal remedies and for breathing purposes and I definitely think that someone with a blocked or stuffy nose would benefit from its use.
Once you have lathered up you get this sort of cooling feeling on the skin. It is almost like being covered with a cold gel and the freshness just oozes off you and soothes you to the core.
The boast about seven thousand, two hundred and twenty seven mint leaves being used in each bottle is probably not just an idle one as Original Source do take their ingredients seriously and seek out the best materials as their name suggests. I still can't help conjuring up visions of a factory somewhere containing massive steel drums with the cast of 'Time Bandits' trudging around them, crushing mint leaves underfoot while Warrick Davis thwacks a whip and shouts 'More mint....more mint'. Not to worry though, the gel has no hallucagens; that's just my overactive imagination.
The bottle I buy comes with a slide out hook which makes it easy to hang beside you in the shower and beneficial if you are at the swimming baths or staying in a hotel. You'll also get lots of nice comments about how nice the area smells after you have used it.
Overall I think this shower gel is one of the best on the market and it is freely available in the UK at most good drug stores and supermarkets and as I alluded to earlier in the review it is available in other European countries but you may have to pay over the odds.
I would recommend this shower gel to anyone who wants to feel clean, fresh and wants to get an additional buzz out of there shower or bath.
