I am not particularly loyal to any brand when it comes to shower gels. I tend to buy whichever brand is on offer and a few weeks ago it was original source shower gel that was on offer at half price in my local Tesco. There were several different varies to choose from including tea tree and mint, almond and coconut, rose and geranium, lavender and lemon to name a few. I chose the tea tree and lemon version, as I love the smell of lemon.

I am not a morning person and really need an invigorating shower to wake me up. Original source shower gel claims to contain 100% pure natural essential oils. The lemon version also contains real lemon juice. Opening the flip top lid I was very aware of a strong zesty lemon aroma. The shower gel is fairly thick and is easy to squeeze out. You really only need a small amount for a good lather. The colour is a bit like cheap lemon curd and doesn't convince me it contains no additives!
Following my shower the lemon aroma faded very quickly which was a little disappointing. However there was no sticky residue so a plus here. My skin didn't feel dry, but it didn't feel that soft and moisturised either as it does when I use dove shower cream.
I would have liked a hook to hang the shower gel up by .It does have a flat lid so can be stored on its lid.
Overall original shower gel is good but not that good! I would buy it again but only if its on offer. At full price you can expect to pay about £2 for a 250ml plastic bottle. I paid 98p which I think is a fair price for a fair product!
Summary: lemon shower gel with essential oils
